Nice small television for the kitchen. BUT IT CAN'T BE WALL MOUNTED. Do not believe it can even though the Amazon site suggests so. I didn't realize this since Amazon shows a bracket and one assumes it's for this particular television. It's not since this Toshiba doesn't have the appropriate guide holes on the back. If you want to wall mount a tv, get the Toshiba 19 inch which has the appropriate holes.

We bought this nice little television with the intention of wall mounting it. Amazons page for this unit also offers a "Frequently Bought Together" promo package which includes a flat antenna and a wall mount bracket. But after inspecting the TV we could find no mounting threads for a bracket. We emailed Toshiba and in a very short time received a reply, the 15LV506 can not be wall mounted. Buyer beware.

I purchased this T.V. for my wife as a Xmas gift to replace her small portable non-digital T.V. I read all the reviews from other people and decided it would make a decent portable digital T.V. We use it with only a single telescoping antenna that attaches directly to the back connector and the picture looks great. The sound is also very acceptable and we can carry this light little T.V. around to any room in the house. The T.V. is also nice looking in my opinion and doesn't take up a lot of space. If I had to complain about anything there would be two items. This T.V. doesn't have a tilt base like all computer LCD screens come with. It is in a fixed position which can be to low if the T.V. is set on a low surface. Also when using the numeric key pad to change channels I find that it switches to the analog (non-digital) channel then I must use the channel "up" button to go to the digital channel. It takes a bit of time to power on and change channels but what's the big hurry anyway. The DVD player also works very acceptably and will also play music CD's. For the quality, brand name, and features of this T.V., I think the price was very reasonable.

I bought this tv to mount under my kitchen cabinet, because the amazon site said it was frequently sold with an under cabinet mount. The tv does not have mounting capability, and must be used with a stand... not an option in my little kitchen.

I have not purchased this TV however, while trying to find more information than is offered on this site, I discovered that this TV cannot be wall mounted. This info came from a Toshiba phone agent. This was a big surprise because there are a number of wall mounts advertised by Amazon for sale on the same page as the TV. In addition, there is no copy info explaining the lack of wall mount capabilities. The last thing anyone wants to do is go to the trouble to return merchandise. Do not buy if you want to wall mount this little, great looking TV.

I love this TV and purchased a mount, to mount it under the counter in the kitchen, only to discover upon opening the box that there are no mounting holes for this TV, when every other mfg puts them in why is this not in the description - I'll triple check that on my next order - anyone need a mount?

The TV is fine for what we wanted. It was to be mounted in the kitchen under a cabinet. But when it arrived it did not have any mounting holes in the back of the TV for a mounting bracket. My wife had to have a white TV so I had to build a special mounting bracket that would hold the TV and swivel and allow us to use the built-in DVD player.

The only other item is the TV tuner is very very slow when changing from one channel to another.

THIS IS A GREAT KITCHEN COUNTER TELEVISION. UNFORTUNATELY THE TELEVISION DOES NOT HAVE AN ADJUSTABLE MOUNT (WHICH WOULD ALLOW TILTING THE UNIT UP OR DOWN). MY TELEVISION POINTS DOWNWARD WHEN PLACED ON OUR KITCHEN COUNTER. I PUT THOSE SMALL PADS THAT ARE MADE FOR THE BOTTOM OF WOOD CHAIR LEGS UNDER THE FRONT OF THE TELEVISION TO TILT IT UPWARD FOR BETTER VIEWING. TOSHIBA WOULD HAVE A BETTER PRODUCT IF THEY WOULD PUT AN ADJUSTABLE MOUNT(WHICH WOULD ALLOW YOU TO TILT THE UNIT UP OR DOWN WHEN PLACED ON A COUNTER TOP)ON THIS TELEVISION. OTHER THAN THAT, THIS IS THE BEST KITCHEN COUNTER TELEVISION I COULD FIND ON THE MARKET. PS: THE DVD PLAYER WORKS GREAT AND IS A NICE EXTRA. HOPE THIS HELPS.

I recently rec'd this tv and I love it. I had a 19" that I always felt was too big for the area on my counter. So as upset as I was when it stopped working, (only 3 yr.s old), I was actually glad after getting this one. It looks so much better on my counter. And the white looks better too. My other tv was silver trim which I thought would go with my stainless steel appliance, but the white blends in better against the walls. The picture and sound quality are excellent. Tried the dvd today and it works great. I just hope this tv out lives my last one as I'm very happy with it.

I have been hunting for months for a good quality white digital flat screen TV for my kitchen window ledge. This is the only "choice" out there......if you are looking for a 15", this is it! Seems impossible, but it is true. This is the only 15" available from a manufacturer that you have actually heard of. Not only is it the only one available, but it only comes with a DVD player, so don't bother looking for a TV without the DVD. You do get a choice of color: black or white, so don't gripe! Another thing you need to know, is that TV manufacturers no longer bother to include an antenna with their sets, so if you are like me and are actually planning to use THE AIRWAVES to receive programming, you have to purchase a digital antenna in order to receive anything resembling a broadcast. This is not a choice, this is a necessity. If you do not subscribe to cable or direct TV or satellite or whatever, YOU NEED TO BUY A DIGITAL ANTENNA! Again, its not a matter of better reception, its the only way you are going to get reception. With that in mind, I purchased the RCA ANT1500 Large Multi-Directional Digital Flat Passive Antenna (White) which promised to bring in a maximum number of analog and digital chanels and look unobtrusive in the process. The TV and antenna both arrived today and I was able to get them hooked up and running in less than a half an hour and that included removing them from their boxes and reading the instruction booklets, programming the set, neatening up wires, etc. The TV is attractive and surprisingly, almost alarmingly light weight. It is a cinch to pick up and move around. This is not the set of yesteryear, when you needed to be a weightlifter inorder to pick up a "portable" tv. This set is light, like a big Kindle on a stand. I live in New York City and without the antenna hooked up to the TV I was able to get no programming whatsoever. Zilch. No picture, no sound, nothing. The antenna is a flat white slab that the TV is able to sit on top of. You can also stand the antenna upright or hang it on a wall. The antenna comes with a cable (how thoughtful!) that is easily attached to the TV. It requires no electricity. All connections are clearly marked. Once attached together and the "Automatic Programming" set up, I was able to get 3 analog and 47 digital chanels! While many of the 47 digital chanels are in foreign (not English)languages, all the New York local network stations came in bright and clear and ultrasharp. The sound is maybe not as loud as I would have liked but it certainly is loud enough for most circumstances. You will never turn this baby up to 11! Some reviewers complain about the TV taking an extreme length of time to turn on and then to switch stations. This is true. The tuner is very pokey. I know that digital receivers take longer than analog ones but this seems to be slower than most. We are talking about seconds here, but it does seem slow. Other reviewers complain about the large "bright light" on the front of the set that glows blue when the set is on and orange when off. Yes, there is a light and I really don't see the big deal, its not a kleig light or a torch. Also, if you are among the ones who find it irritating, you can go in to "Set Up" and turn it off. I admit it does seem a bit gratuitous. Why provide a "decorative" on/off light when you could have supplied something far more useful.....like an antenna? I am delighted with the set. The price was right, the size is perfect, the picture very good. And, if I ever want to watch a DVD while I am cooking, I know I can!

Warning: Take the fact that you cannot return this product seriously. There are few choices on the market for small tvs suitable for a kitchen so I thought this looked like a good buy under the circumstances. But when it arrived, it would not accept a DVD - simply spit it out after it was put in. Amazon won't take it back and Toshiba will only repair it - BUT you have to pay the shipping to their repair facility. I live under 100 miles from their repair facility, but it still cost $19.05 to ship it. Yes, Toshiba did repair it and yes, as they promised it was a short turnaround - I got it back in 8 days. Works fine now. Of course, I just got it back and I don't know how it will last over time. But buy this only if you're willing to pay the extra money.

Just unboxed one, plugged it in, and it will NOT read Divx discs (i.e. avi files) I have tried dvd-r and dvd+r discs, just to make sure it was not a compatability problem. Unfortunately, the Divx feature was the ONLY reason that I chose this TV over any other. I have not called Toshiba's hotline (it's Saturday night.) but I am not expecting any great outcome. Other than that, the picture and sound are fine for a 17" tv. But the Divx selling point was THE MOST important feature to me, and hot having the feature is a deal breaker for me.

We tried 3 or 4 other small white kitchen tv's over the past 12 months and they were all unacceptable. While the Toshiba is not without it's flaws, it is heads above the others that we tried at home. There are several annoying features however. It takes forever to change channels and has a moderately slow start up. The picture quality is good however, even when viewed from the side and the sound is a real bonus. It's also nice to have the DVD player when our 3 year old niece visits which is fairly often. The price is good and we would purchase this product again and recommend it (even though my wife taped over a bright red light that serves no purpose whatsoever on the front of the tv when it is NOT in use).

I chose this TV because of 3 reasons...1) TOSHIBA name 2) size (bedroom TV) 3) color. Let me first say the style is fantastic...very modern and looks great in my bedroom. The picture is not as good as my large TOSHIBA but I don't have it hooked up to an HD receiver. That said the picture is fine; especially when the channel you're viewing has the Digtal option. Sound is just OK since the speaker runs horizontally on the bottom of the TV but that's where most flat screens have the speakers located. The DVD player is phenomenal and super simple, load and hit play! It uses the same remote as the TV which is very convenient. There is only one very annoying thing about this TV and that is the huge LED light that is front and center on the face of the TV. It GLOWS royal blue when on and GLOWS bright red when TV is off which is when I am sleeping. I have covered it with silver acrylic paint to match the silver speaker cover and that worked quite well and doesn't look bad at all. Toshiba needs to rethink this idea and either remove it completely or place it somewhere less conspicuous. I am not even sure of its purpose. When the TV is on you know it is on because there's a picture on the screen and when it is off there is no longer a picture...DUH! I don't think a large, irridescent light is necessary to depict the on/off status of the TV. All in all a wonderful TV and I am very pleased. The price was great and finding a WHITE, small TV is challenging in and of itself and then to find one with the built-in DVD was a huge bonus! This set fits all my needs and I'm glad I purchased it.

I had researched available 15 inch t.v's by reading hundreds of reviews. I ordered the Toshiba 15.6 inch which has been sitting in the box for the past month. I liked the idea of using it in various rooms or outside. After going back and forth for two weeks purchasing 4 different types of antennas, I was still unable to get any digital or analog channels. I was quite disappointed that it could not be used in my house without a hook-up to cable. When it is finally hooked up to cable I will update this review.
