Having read some of the less positive reviews, I put off getting these for a long time, but finally picked them up last week, since logic insists that the dual element driver cannot be anything but an improvement, and others with similar technology cost more than my iphone did.. The improvement in bass response over the earbuds included with my ipod and iphone is really major. The sound is shockingly clear and the bass is just so much more than I expected- not overpowering, but much much richer and more clear. I can only assume that people who didn't care for them were wearing them wrong, as the difference is really very dramatic. I will still drag my iphone pack-ins along for phone calls, but for music I wouldn't use anything other than these. Very very happy I picked them up.

These headphones are really nice... until they break. The sound quality is great and if you get the remote ones, that's nice too. But they seem to just fall apart and with apple lacking warranty and the fact that they seem to break right after the return period is over seems hardly worth the 80 bucks.

I wasn't happy at all with the earphone that came with my iPhone 3gs and have been looking for replacements that has remotes. I had my mind set on Bose in-ear, but since it didn't seem to have volume control, I settled on this earphone based on some of the positive reviews by "audiophiles". This earphone is just horrible, no base and hollow sounds. The only way I can describe the sounds are as if every one of my mp3 were ripped to 64kbps...or less. In fact, the ones that came with the iPhone and my bluetooth Motorola S9 sound far better than this. Only positive thing I can say about this earphone is that it fits comfortably in my ears. I had a high hope for this and bought 2 for our iPhones, and both are going back for refund.

I purchased these to give my Bose some much needed rest thinking that Apple made big strides on sound quality. Boy, was I mistaken. Treble is great, but that's all you get; treble, treble, and more treble. You ask about bass. Well, there is no bass. None that I could hear. These are not worth the $80. If you ask me, these are worse than the last 2 models that Apple produced. Add a few more dollars and check out Bose. You won't be disappointed.

So let me first add the disclaimer which seems more and more necessary with Apple products: I am a big fan of Apple design, and their products. Between my wife and I, we have 3 Apple computers, 5 iPods/iPhones, and I've helped other people in my family make the switch. All that being said, when my Shure e2c's finally died, I figured these would be a welcome step up - I mean who could turn down a well-rated dual-driver in-ear headphone from Apple which would work with my iPhone Gen 1 phone (I knew that the volume buttons wouldn't work). I couldn't be more wrong - this is the first Apple product I've purchased which is shockingly under-engineered for it's intended purpose. I'd be fine with the added sound transmission from the wires (my Shure's had virtually none), which definitely affected the sound, but the fact that they can't handle a little sweat from a workout is absolutely unacceptable. I use the Pandora Radio app regularly, and right when I'm getting into my workout (read: I
