I've had this POC for about 8 months and have had trouble since it was new. First it was just cutting off songs and skipping to the next, but if you back it up it will play the cut off song fine the second try. Now it wants to constantly reset it self in mid play. This week it has gotten so bad it won't play for more than 10 or so songs before the screen goes to some weird color apple logo and resets. Has gotten to the point that it almost unusable. Reseting and re-syncing seems to help for a day or 2 but then it starts the problem all over again making it unusable until I can re-sync at home. I now carry my 3 yr old 30 gb as a back up as I play music all day at work. My 30gb is trouble free. Apple discussions is full of complaints about this problem and apple response to the issue is NO PROBLEM'S HERE FOLKS. Many have sent their 120's back to apple and gotten it back with the response from apple that it is working fine and the problem persists. And forget the 5 R solution

I owned 2 other ipods before i bought my new ipod 120. The first thing the ipod did when i got it was freeze then shut down and since then it has gotten worse to where it will shut down every 5 mins. I will not recommend an ipod 120. waste of money on a malfunction device.

I was so excited to get my iPod. I've only owned one other mp3 player (Philips GoGear) and wanted to try the famous iPod. There's a lot of memory packed into a small attractive case,its very easy to browse your music libary, and add new music from the computer. But there are things I didn't like about the iPod which to me, are very important in a music player. The sound quality leaves something to be desired. You have to buy a really good set of earphones to get decent sound. Even the earbuds that I used with my old mp3 player didn't sound good with this. The sound was what I would expect from a cheap old stereo that's been blown out. If you listen to music with bass then invest in some very good earphones or skip over this completely! Although softer music did sound good even with the Apple earphones. There should be a disclaimer that states that this should not be used for music such as rock, metal, rap or anything else with any bass in it. I also don't like that you can only turn the

I upgraded to the 120gb from the 60gb and I'm so glad I did. Not only does it hold ALL my music and ALL my photos and ALL my movies, it's classy looking and works slightly different/better than the earlier model. I got a fantastic price and free shipping from amazon.com and just couldn't say no. I would recommend this model to everyone because, no matter how little music you may have now, there's is always room for an ever-expanding music/movie library. If you don't already have this, you gotta get it. Get it, upgrade to it - just do it. This will be a purchse you will not regret. I don't, and I know I never will.

The product shipped as fast as expected and works fine. However, in the description "What's in the box" they mention a dock adapter which was never delivered. Either you charge it through the USB cable or you have to purchase a charger separately. I hope Amazon either sends the dock adapter in the future or removes it from the "What's in the box" list to avoid upsetting its customers.

The one-star review is because of Apple's attitude towards its customers. I don't know how well the 120GB iPod Classic works because I'm unable to set it up. A series of calls to Apple tech support resulted in a string of refusals. First, be aware that you MUST have a broadband connection in order to use any iPod. Amazon does not include that information in its product description. As a first-time Apple customer, I was not aware of this... nor was I aware of the degree to which they enforce control over how you will use their products. If you buy the player, you will not receive either a manual or the iTunes software that you need to use it. Eliminating manuals is "green", they say. Not including them in the package is fine, but they should be available on request. I don't see how my growing stack of inkjet-printed, stapled-together "owner's manuals" is any better for the environment than a smaller, professionally printed manual. I bought this to expand my music storage capability; I use the Classic as my primary music library on the main stereo. The sound has improved from the 2nd gen Classic, which is a plus. However, this iPod is not as well-made as others. The click wheel is unresponsive and not suitable for gaming.

Three hard drive based IPod's later, ... and I gave up. In fact, ... on Apple IPod's all together...
The problem is, the hard drives don't handle being jolted. (If you jog with your MP3 player, or use in your car where it might get rattled, don't expect it to last long..)
I've made the switch to the Samsung Sansa View 32GB (Flash based) and have been using it for 4-5 months. (Longer than any one of the IPod's lasted me..) Obviously, it doesn't have NEARLY the space of the 120GB IPod, but if the IPod stops working, ... it's useless anywhay...
BTW - IPod warranty isn't bad at all, but when it runs out and the unit dies (yet again,) you won't feel like repairing it. (AGAIN..............)

I thought this was an overall worthwhile and great purchase. The Ipod has incredible amounts of memory that allows tons of music and videos to be stored on it without having to pick and choose what exactly can fit on it. The album art was really fun to see except for when the art could not be found, which could be a bit of a disappointment. Overall it was really easy to use and worth buying.

This is so worth the investment. The initial ipod I bought had problems: battery life less than 5 hrs, unable to get to some of the features, etc. I called Apple several times and tried lots of things but finally returned it and got a new one. It was within the 30 day window so had no problem with this. OH MAN---this new one is awesome!!!!!! The battery life goes on and on. There are so many features that I wasn't even aware of. It's organized and so easy to manage. LOVEIT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT. Also, if you shop around you can find some really inexpensive accessaries at bargain prices. Take the time---it's really worth it.

I've had many iPods. I've had 4 30GB iPod Videos, two iPod shuffles, and am on my second 120GB iPod Classic. iPod Classics are great because of their capacity, high definition screen, click wheel, and almost everything else. Their downfall is how they slow down with the more things that you put on them, and how they seem to have random issues that nobody can figure out. The issues don't happen that often, but I would still recommend that you purchase the extended warranty from Best Buy. So far, this is my favorite iPod, and I have had it since December.

Like some people has pointed out in their reviews, this is a fantastic ipod if your planning to carry around lots of music and content with you, but before you rush out to buy one, here are some aspects that i would have love to know before i bought mine. Firstly, this is a slow ipod. ( because of its hardware technology, might take a few secs to load a song, it might even freeze for a couple of secs in the worst case ) secondly, the click wheel is not as sensitive as other ipod models, wich means its somewhat complicated to operate, lastly since i bought the black version of it, i assume this version is easy to scratch on its front side ( not to mention the backside, looks like I've had it for years and i bought it 2 weeks ago ) Besides that, its the same ipod we all know and love, the battery performance is good, the weight is also ok, and the screen is all right for its price. if youre not bothered for the things I mention above, you should definitely get one.

I received my ipod in less time than I expected. Since receiving my ipod I have had no issues and the sound quality is great. I was very impressed with all the features on the 120g as opposed to the 80g that I had previously purchased

I like ipod, i have an ipod nano before and i upgrade it to classic because of the space 120gb, a lot of storage base on the specs and features. I bought the classic just yesterday and i return it this afternoon because when i charged it like 4 hrs as what it says on the manual to charge fully, then it shows as fully charged, while charging it i download all my favorite music, then for more that 2000+ songs it download only 76 then it freeze. i waited for the ipod to reset itself. In the morning when i woke up i look at it because i'm excited, the battery is dead so i recharge it again then when it is fully charge, i listen to it then again it freeze and the whole day i'm not able use it, so i return it, still freeze. So i'm diappointed very much for my purchase. But in fairness i still like ipod.

I recently bought this MP3 player and was very disappointed. I am returing it tomorrow for a refund. I have a music library of over 3,000 songs on Windows Media Player. I was using a Creative Labs Zen MP3 player that I was/am very happy with. It's a snap to download songs on my Zen and aside from a rather short battery life, works great. However, it is over five years old and I was looking to replace it with an iPod - big mistake! After six hours of attempting to download my music library from my Media Player to the Apple format I found that many of my songs for some reason did not transfer to the iPod and many of the songs I was able to transfer/download to iPod somehow duplicated themselves. It was extreemly slow in downloading/transfering music files -- very frustrating. All of my songs had to be changed over into the Apple "format" - this took several hours to accomplish as well. After six hours and much frustration I gave up and decided to stick with my Creative Zen MP3 player

The Ipod Classic is a very good and I would recommend it, however I wish Apple would add more compatibility with windows formats and other types and wish they would also add an FM Tuner to like many of the competitors have.
I also have had some issues with using Genius on the Ipod, it is a great feature that I can use on my computer and create playlists for my ipod, but have been unable to use it directly on my Ipod.
All in all I would recommend this product to anyone that has a large music library like myself.

This went from a fun techno-toy to a must-have product in less than 2 months.
I'm a high school choir director, and I own a ton of CDs. Before the iPod, they were scattered everywhere. When I needed a CD, it might be in the player at school, in one of three at home, in one of the computers, or in players in either of our two cars. It could also be in one of countless storage locations.
We bought one of those big juke-box player/storage units, filled it immediately, and still had the same problem.
The iPod changed everything. It holds every CD I own, and I put every CD I buy on it. After that, who cares where I store the original. The iPod goes everywhere I do, and I know that I have every song in my collection at my fingertips.
As if that weren't enough, the convenience of video storage is astounding. If I have a student working on a standard solo, I can show him/her videos of a dozen other performers who have posted videos of themselves on youtube or

I've had two. The first was replace at 5 months because it crashed during a run and refused to turn back on. After arguements about warranty (my serial number did not match the number that My ipod registered when I set it up on my computer - it took about 4 weeks to exchange "proof of purchase"). A replacement item promptly arrived, but it lasted only 7 months before it crashed and now is no longer under warrenty. Remeniscent of my old iMac. I no longer trust Apple products.

I think this iPod is the greatest one you could buy. It may look like a lot of money, but you can trust that you are getting your money's worth. You can get hours and hours of music, movies, and games, etc. I can relax for hours on the beach and not have to repeat a song. Trust me, you'll love this iPod!

I love the new classic. It replaced my iPod Video 80Gb. The new software is a great improvement. The only negative is that they went to a dock connector that requires authentication chips...making my Monster cable in the car, and my DLO Homedock Deluxe worthless. I spent more on new cables and docks from Best Buy then I spent on the iPod itself.

PC connection offers fast and affordable ways to buy the products you want. I was excited to receive my item but extremely disappointed to find that my 120 gig ipod only supped up to be 111.5 gigs in size. That's an ipod nano worth of Gigs missing. I will have to talk to apple about it. but this is certainly not the fault of PC connection.

The primary 2008 ipod model, the 120gb ipod clasic, is a solid device which provides all of the same great functions of ipods past and not much more. I can't that's all a bad thing, though. The ipod feels great in hands and provides execptional battery life. The audio and video performances are generally excellent. However, my device does occasionally lag and cut out in the middle of a playback. The 120gigabytes means you won't be running out of memory any time soon. I have 400 songs and 3 movies and I'm barely going over 10gbs. The only dissapointment is that it's missing new features provided on other new ipods models, such as the touch and the nano. The classic does not support wi-fi of any kind, it lacks any sort of built in speakers, and doesn't have an accelometer for some music waggle (however pointless that feature may be). The 2008 ipod classic doesn't do anything new, but the 120gb and sheer quality of the build represent the best of the previous ipods.

As a symbol of all things trendy, Apple's classic 120 GB iPod carries the torch with minimal flaws. The obvious appeal of this gadget is the vast amount of space to fill up with music and entertainment. I collect music like some collect stamps, and I can comfortably continue to purchase itunes cards knowing that there will be enough room on my iPod for quite a while. Even if your music library is limited, this iPod is a great compromise for storing tv shows or movies as well! I have had my iPod classic for nearly two years, and the only downside is the jack. It has seen better days and causes disturbances with my headphones on occasion. However I've found that the secret to preventing jack damage is to keep putting the Ipod in your jean pockets to a minimum. The movement while walking and listening to music probably causes wear and tear.
As far as purchasing my iPod, BestBuy was the place to go. The staff was helpful and informative, and the price was as reasonable as it will be

Although i havent gotten it yet, a few of my friends own one and have told me the wonders of it, not to mention ive operated it myself and i have to say i love the amount of capcity this baby can hold, its such a nice shade of black , im surprised at its price actually, why pay $400 for a ipod touch 32gb when a 120gb for $224 is even better, touch screen isnt all that you know. anyways, my friends told me its the perfect ipod for a teenager to have seeing as music as at the top of the list for most teens, im hoping i can get mine soon, im anxious for it, its gonna be a real keeper. anyone who wants alot of capicty for a little amount of cash, go for the ipod classic.

awesome it's very cool i got like a hole season of family guy on it and the 13 season of south park. and my hole music libary. it only took up like 13 whatca ma call its. plinty of room left. and with some componet cable's i watched family guy on my 32" flat screen. really really cool!!!!!!!!!!! thanks.

If you're a music lover like me, you can't go a day with out your IPOD. This IPOD stores more music than any other product of it's size. It's great to have, and I wouldn't trade it in unless there was a lighter version of this in the future. I love that I get to take with me while traveling and can dock it to my surround home system. Once you own one, you'll wonder how you managed with out it all those years.

The Ipod Classic is worth the money that you pay because it is easy to use and it has good quality. It holds a lot of memory sometimes more than a laptop would and you can easily slide it in your back pocket. Of course everything has a bad side and the only thing that is bad about the Ipod is that when you drop it and it doesn't have a case on it, it will get scratched or even dented depending on how bad the damage was. The iPod classic is more for people who are interested in storing alot of music, and some video, while the iPod touch is for people who are wanting to store some video and alot of games and apps. I like the iPod classic because of the space it offers, 30,000 songs, a buttload of video, and tons of space for pictures. I would recommend buying a case right away though, if you don't want it to get scratched up. One problem though, is that once you get about 60 GB filled up, it starts to slightly slow down, and gets a little slower the more you add on. But i would recommend anyone interested in listening to alot of music buy this IPod, you won't be dissapointed.

This is the best ipod I've ever had. I've gone through about 5 of them before. The big catch with this model is the huge 120 gigabyte hard drive space. I don't know if many people could fill it's 30,000 song space. If you are a DJ or a musician, this is a great ipod for you. The screen is bright and colorful. Every color is spot on. It is also glare proof so you can see it's screen even out walking. The EQ mode lets you choose what kind of sound you want according to the music you listen to. It also lets you up and down the bass and treble. It's a nice feature definitely for a big music head. Anyone who has used an ipod classic will know how good this feature is. Actually, I am listening now without the EQ mode, switching it on and off, and it makes a big difference in the sound quality.

This is an awesome ipod. This is my second one. The first was stolen and I could not live without it. My entire CD collection is on this. One little box holds everything. It's easy to use.....It does have a wierd name as it is a 6th generation..........

I received this ipod as a birthday present and I'm so glad that I got it. I'm just amazed at how much memory it contains and it doesn't slow down the closer you get to max capacity. The new ipod classic is like a small hard drive that just stores music, videos, and photos. The battery life is very long I go for about 3 days without charging it and I use it all the time. But as soon as you get it, get a case for it because like all ipods that silver back gets scratched very easily. I recomment this ipod to anyone.

The nano is the 3rd generation i-pod. It's so light and small that you can put it almost anywhere. I love this i-pod. It's really easy to work with, and it has a lot of memory. I carry my i-pod around everywhere, it amazing. All of my friends have it too. This i-pod is a very affordable price, and you can get something engraved on the back too. Their are also many colors of this ipod that you can choose from. My suggestion is that people should buy this IPOD. YOU WON'T REGRET IT !

My sister lost my ipod touch a couple of days ago and i was thinking about getting one of these since i only had the 16 gb ipod touch and i have about 50 gb of music and i like the click wheel better and have experienced with a few of these and really like it but i'll buy a case and skullcandy smokin ear buds for a total of about 300 dollars.

The ipod classic is obviously the best one, it has the most space. None of the other ipods have any were near as many gigs as the classic, and they are not alot cheaper; some cost more. Ipod classic is elite, just like buying a big screen TV, you spend a little less money and get a inferior version or you can get the best!

I have the 80 GB Apple I-Pod Classic and it does everything I need it to! Apple makes the best Mp3 player out there. It can hold an unbelievable amount of music as well as videos. It is also very portable. The only problem is that it is a little pricy, but for all that it does it should only be adjusted $30 or so less than what the price it. Especially seeing that when I purchased it I had to go and buy a case for it as well a car charger. Besides the price being 30 or 40 dollars to high, overall those extra few dollars spent are well worth it.

As a frame of reference: I've owned a 4th gen 40gig, a 32gig touch and a couple different gen nano's and they are all great music/(and some)video players.
The only grip I have is that the split window menu is irritating and makes the navigating slower (i'm assuming processor time due to graphics) and you can't turn this feature off.
This is the only downfall. It's an iPod and does what it does great. If I could turn off more of the "features" with respect to the menu's I would give this a 5 star but I can't so I won't.

The screen is too small and there's no FM radio. I need lots of storage since I'm studying the bass guitar and I downloads lots of videos for that purpose. This screen is ridiculously small. I'm exchanging this overpriced toy for a Zune! I love my MAC, but I have to ditch Apple for a multi-functional product at that hefty price. Plus, the darn thing wiped out 800 songs when I hooked it up -- thank God I had my collection backed up in several places.

I've wanted an iPod for a while but couldn't see myself spending the money. I recently got one for my birthday and love it! It took some courage to play with it at first, and figure out how it works because it is completely different from any other toy I have. Also, the websites that explain how to restart the iPod, and about ejecting were REALLY useful. I was surprised when my entire mp3 collection barely took up any memory! I'm really thankful for this awesome gift! ^_^

If you ever get an iPod this is the one to get. It is designed great, lightweight and has a ton of space. The battery life on it is amazing too, and its hard to believe that something as small as that can hold so much information. Great product very durable, will work forever, and battery normally lasts for about 36 to 40 hours, so they aren't lying when they say 36 hour battery life. An over all great purchase. Don't mess with Zune, do some good and buy an iPod

I ordered this Ipod for my wife and she loves it. I don't even know 30k songs but that is what it will store. PC Connection did a great job with my order. Well packaged and very timely. I would not hesitate to order from them again in the future

This is my THIRD refurbished Ipod I bought through Overstock. The first one is still great (30 gig) and I gave it to my daughter. The second one was an 80 gig and it had some problems with freezing up so I returned it and overstock gave me my money back. So then I bought this 120 gig one instead and I am glad I did. There are less bugs in this new generation and it is actually slimmer and lighter than the 80 gig one I returned (even though it is 40 gig bigger). Apparently, the technology keeps improving with every generation. The software is different and is split screen with album pictures on one side. The video quality seems improved over the older generation also. I like that the black is frosted a little so it doesn't seem to show every fingerprint or scratch as much as the older generation. The Ipod is more than I expected. It's easy to load and the functions are laid out clearly. The battery life is much longer, which is great! The screen quality is crystal clear. I highly recommend this Ipod to anyone that enjoys music. It may be small, but plays BIG!

I can't live without my iPod classic. It sounds great and the features are easy to use. And for those who complain about it getting scratched so easily....uh.....GET A SKIN OR A CASE!!! Problem solved!! I've had mine for a year and a half and it's in great shape because I take care of it. It sits in a nice skin!

Apple has been making players for years now. Why can't they easily add in a FM Radio?

Excellent mp-3 player. very small in size and easy to take with you. easy to use and long battery life. I've owned other mp-3 players, a 10 GB, a 20 GB, and a 40 gb and this one. This is by far the best yet. Would buy again. I bought one also for my wife and she loves hers too. I have not found anything negative to say about it to date. I've had it now for several months.

I love my new iPOD. I would say this is my 6th iPOD I purchased over the years now. Owned it for a few weeks, dropped it a few times but hey it still works fine! I can now store all my favorite music albums.

The iPod is a wonderful fine for our family. We have loaded music and movies on it. It is great for road trips. Our entire music library is available in a neat little package.

i love this ipod it's great. it lasts long i have had it for about one year and i love it. the quality is great an you can put so much stuff onto it this is why i like the classic instead of the touch.

Best piece of technology I've ever owned. Very easy to use and I love having my entire music collection (almost 8000 songs) wherever I go. With three kids in the house my iPod gets a lot of abuse: falls, things spilled on it, etc. but it just keeps going.

my daughter got one for christmas in 2006 and it had died by christmas of 2008. thats not very long use for an $500 product and her name is ingraved and now she cant use it anymore. the cost to repair isnt worth it either. I ended up buying a different ipod which was used for just $40.00 and its working great so far.

I am probably not a part of Apple's target market being over 50, and not a technoholic (needed the latest tech device), but I do appreciate a great music machine. I have been an audiophile for many years. The sound from these units are not all that could be wished for but OMG what they get out of this small package is simply amazing. I can literally carry the majority of my listening library and my reference music library around with me.
That being said, there are obvious, glaring faults. A removeable, rechargeable battery was obviously contemplated and discarded, hoping that people would trade up every year as they do with cell phones. This battery problem seriously impacts the use of this device as a portable. The Zune is worse. Apple also seems to be moving away from this format towards the touch and so on. Again the driving force is the same as the cell phone, it's the add-on apps and charges that bring the money. I would buy a touch tomorrow if it had a 150 G capacity and a large

Ton's of hard drive space and wonderful iTunes integration made this iPod irresistible. I have my entire itunes library stored on this guy with room for movies and photos. Also works great as a backup drive for my important files.

After using my 2gb nano for about 3 years, I decided to upgrade for listening and memory purposes. I have the good fortune of living near an apple retail store so I could compare the ipod classic to the ipod touch. Once I saw them and was able to handle them it was a no-brainer. The classic felt sturdier, stronger and had the click wheel we've all come to know and love. To me, the ipod touch felt like it would shatter the first time I dropped it (and anyone who has owned an ipod has...) At any rate, the classic is easy to use, has enormous memory and has enough features to please anyone if you dig deep enough.
I use my ipod strictly for music so the classic is perfect for me. As for the 'music experts' who are complaining about the sound, give me a break. I've owner a few iPods in recent years from Nanos to the Touch. I have the same complaint with most of them, I need more room! Well, this new "Classic" takes of it and some. The Classic is basically like using one of the newer nanos except you have 120GB to work with, if that's not enough for you then you probably have a few songs you need to get rid of. My only gripe is the shiny back that needs a clear film or case to keep protected if you like the mirror finish. Other than that it's well worth the investment.

I got it about a week ago and im using it everyday!!! the videos have very good quality but if you watch to much videos the battery will drop(have way) after 2 hours but i would definately recommend this because it also has a lot of other great features.

I've had this ipod for about 3 years now and i would have to say it is A WONDERFUL ipod.But unfourtunatly i have to purchuse a new ipod because the screen cracked on mine, and when it cracks oh does it crack.

I love my ipod, and the fact that I so far have over 100 tv episodes, 290 video podcasts, and 1600 songs on it and not even over half full! The storage capacity is so nice, and that's what made me decide between the classic and the touch.

This is one nice item. I was using it right out of the box. screen is big enough to veiw your pictures and watch videos I wished I had this back in the 60's instead of my 3 pound radio I lugged all over. Seems like the more I am exposed to apple products the more I like them.

I received this Ipod for my birthday, and opened the package up and I was amazed when I looked at it! The features are easy and is very easy to use. The thing I love most about it is that, when I listen to my live albums it goes right into the next song. My old Ipod Mini didn't, it had to load and take a long time. But thanks again to you guys at Apple, you guys rock hard!

The battery life is great but scratches easlily. kind of thick compared to other ipod models.uses a mini hard drive so it makes some noise.overall a great ipod.

This is a great iPod! I love the picture and sound quality. Love that you can watch videos. The only thing I wasn't too impressed with was how hot the item gets. Not so hot it burns you, but definitely hot.

This is the best music device Ive owned..It is easy to use and carry around with me. I even purchased the adapter so that I can play it in my car. I also purchased an alarm clock for my ipod....greatest thing since my cd player

I have one of these ipods and it is great, the durability of the ipod, excluding screen, and overall space are the great features with the classic. Pros: Tons of space for pictures movies and music. It saves my life on long trips. I dont think ill ever run out of space!
Cons: Screen is not as durable as the rest of it. I reccomend a screen protecter(thin plastic covering that you cut out), or better yet a hard case.

This is the third ipod I've owned. The earphone slot in all of them broke in slightly over a years time. Meanwhile, all 3 of my Sansa MP3 players, which are considerably cheaper, work fine after 3 years.

I bought my husband his first ipod for his 50th birthday (ipod classic) and he was beside himself. He is a musician and couldn't believe the quality of the sound. He also drives long hours and loves having the ipod to keep him company during breaks and long drives. It was a little difficult to use because he didn't know how but our daughter stepped in and saved the day. We also bought a new computer so he was able to quickly download, store and buy music like a pro with our daughter's help! I would definately recommend the classic ipod and would definately recommend pc connection and the best buy out there.

If you're looking for a great name brand MP3 player with a large memory and small price, this is you're MP3 player. I've had this iPod since Christmas, and I defiantly say that it's worth buying. The images are crisp and look very nice, the playback quality is amazing(as it is for all iPods), and it's a true beauty. Though you should take into great consideration about buying a case at the time of purchase because of the beautiful stainless steel backing, which is unfortunately a scratch magnet. However this problem is easily cleared with a $20 case, this is really the only con to the iPod. Many people would say that the price is far to unreasonable, when it's fairly low for the amount of GB you're getting. Some would say for $20 cheaper you could just get the iPod Touch, but that only has 8GB and the only really upsides to it are it's WiFi capabilities. To me(a music lover), this iPod is perfect. So if you're looking for a nice, affordable iPod, this should be your choice.

the classic is a little big, but if you are looking for a bigger screen, bigger memory etc. you'll want the classic. i put a lot of music, pictures and videos on mine and they have great quality and cool features to use with them all.
the back is very easily scratched, and dropping it would probably dent it, best way to prevent this would be to buy a case for it.

Other than the softwear nightmare I had setting this up the Ipod has been a great investment. I have twin toddlers and it has survied unimmaginable beatings and still works like a dream. I'm not fond of Itunes but you can work around that. With all that said it's just an MP3 player, nothing more, nothing less.

It's easy, practical and has lasted me a while, with the exception that it's frozen on me 5 times! It's frozen on it's own and while connected to the stereo I installed in my car specifically for the ipod. I have to wait for the battery to die and then sync it or charge it so it can return to normal. But other than that...I love it. Apple please fix this little problem so I can give this product five stars!

i bought this ipod last month its a great ipod i love it and the sound is good its loud just the way i like my music. whats no so great about the ipod is the battery life and that when i listening to a song it may skip to the next song right in the middle of the song im listening to but it doesn't do it so much like it use to. another problem is when i put songs on my itunes and transfer them to my ipod it syncs he songs but when its done the ipod will just restart itself but other than those problems the ipod is great

I only bought this particular iPod as it was the only one in the store (not Apple of course) at the time. My 5th Generation had a broken center button, causing an iPod withdrawal. Initially I felt the new iPod was great. Shortly after, I had much difficulty with lack of sensitivity with the click wheel. None of the alarms work-at all. Playing the iPod games is a now "past" pleasure, due to the clic wheel problems. Crashes on a regular basis. I cannot utilize any of the closed captioning or subtitles-these are non functional. But, as an external hard drive, it is handy. It was also discontinued from stores in MA. I paid more than $100 only 2 weeks prior to the model discontinuance. Apple Care (I was told this via their 800 #), should a replacement be required, I may receive a REFURBISHED iPod. It is up to their discretion!

So, instead of reading the reviews from JLabs, I thought I would submit my own. I just received my iPod Classic 120GB. It is my third iPod "Classic", having had a 3G and 5G. We also own two 2G Nanos and one 2G shuffle.
So far, the Seventh Generation iPod Classic has been the best overall that I've owned. My one complaint is similar to others in that the 7G does take a little extra time to execute commands. I think that this is a small price to pay for all of the extra features, however.
My favorite thing about the 7G over the 5G is that it will play podcasts continuously. Previously, I would have to scroll back through the menus to go to the next podcast in a list. I also like the new EQ profiles Apple has added in the "settings" menu. Given these settings, I can get just the right audio out of either my Bose Quiet comfort 3 headphones or my Shure earbuds.

I have the 160gb version Ipod, and my girlfriend has the 120gb version. Basically the same. They both work, they are fine. But I dont like that you cant transfer music between the two. Also, both have a bit of an issue.. If Itunes doesn't "LIKE" your MP3 file, it will load it, but then when you go to listen to it later, it will play part of the song, then skip to the next song! Also, you will get "PAUSES" during the song for no reason. Basically, it it just TOO picky about files being perfect. Also, songs are too pricey!

I think I will shop around and do my homework more. These issues were known when I bought mine. I just didnt know enough to ask.

I love my ipod. I use it when I'm walking, exercising, traveling and just around the house. It has enough room for a couple of movies, tons of music and a few audio books so I'm always entertained!

This was my first Ipod, and I am glad that I bought it! It is so much fun to use and listen too. It is a bit pricey but I you get your moneys worth. I really like the quiz feature it has. Definatly would buy over the nano. Overall its a wonderful product that I would recommend to any music lover!

Other than volume problems it isn't to bad but the volume is not good at all, it sounds like its only at about 15 decibels when it really should be about 300 decibles for the top volume

Who wants to lug around 50 cds or a photo album, or even a dvd player? With the Ipod you can store all this and much more, its simple to use, pop in a disk, download, and your pretty much ready to go. you can burn your cds onto your ipod and buy dvds from itunes.
Down sides- the ipod can freeze, I know that if you lock and unlock it very quickly that normally takes care of the freezing, sometimes you may just have to restart it, but its not often. Also their a hot item, and a target for thieves, so never leave it lying around. Other then that everyone should have one.
