After never owning an ipod at all, I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasently suprised. It was easy to use and self explanitory. The features are endless. I am discovering new ones almost daily. There is alot of space for pretty much anything you want to put on. It connects to the internet via wifi, so you can download apps, music, and even movies from the ipod itself. There are a ton of free apps for it too. You can even bring up maps and directions. The downside is that for the weather function and a few others, you must be connected to the wifi to use them. All in all, I am happy with my purchase and would recommend this item to anyone looking for an ipod.

My experience with this product has been so-so. I recieved this product in march for my birthday and in may I had to return it because it would play three songs then shut off. Upon recieving a new one it worked for a few months, then a couple days ago I had to return the new one because it was doing the exact same thing. So I returned it and it has t be sent out to be fixed then i will recieve a new one. Also I have noticed that they have come out with a 64 gb for the same price that was payed for my 32gb just six months ago, so maybe when I get mine back i will exchange it for the 64 and see how that one works. Hopefully I will have a better experience with the new one being sent or the 64gb if I decide to upgrade.

I love everything about this ipod, i used to have a 80 GB classic and wanted to upgrade to this and I am so glad i did, it may not have as much storage space, but it more than makes up for it in features.

I agree with everyone that this is a great product. But if your'e thinking about buying one hold off until about September 9th 2009. Thats the date that Apple invited all the media to a special event. I'm 99.9% sure that this will be the release date for the 3rd Gen iTouch and the 5th Gen Nano. The iTouch will have models in 16gb, 32gb, and 64gb. The 16gb will probaly be the same price and the 8gb now. Also there are multiple rumors that say the erd Gen Touch will have a 3.0 megapixle camra. Still buy iPods at Best Buy because they have the best extended warrenty in the market.

It still seems unfair to deliberately ship this product with outdated software... As of 8/12/09 quote Apple: iPod touches are still shipping with the 2.0 software, because they still offer functionality to use the App Store and enjoy a large amount of support from third parties. The iPhone OS 3.0 Software Update is intended for the iPhone, and is available for purchasers of the iPod touch because it makes additional functionality available. It is necessary to purchase the iPhone OS 3.0 Software Update as the iPod touch doesn't have a recurring charge associated with it (as in phone plans).

By reading the other reviews you probably relise that the ipod touch is a great product. but there is just one thing I have a problem with. There are only buttons for changing the volume level, there need to be buttons for maybe changing your song. Without this I have to take it our of my pocket and unlock it.. kind of annoying sometimes. With my Zune I used to have, I would just press the buttons in my pocket..
Hopefully Apple will address this issue in the future.

Well, I decided to pick one of these to replace my Mylo 2 and I'm pretty glad I did. It comes with a lot more features, and there's no need to buy a memory stick for extra space. Also you're able to use a lot more apps, and its easier to scroll the your music and videos. Only downside, there is no way to download music from the internet, like on the Mylo 2, and the Mylo 2 comes with a camera and camcorder, but all in all you'll get a better dealing going with the iPod Touch. Aside from that it's definitely something worth picking up, whether you want it for listening to music, or just using the internet. But lastly, I feel like Apple should lower the price, considering you can get an iPhone 3GS for a hundred dollars less. Other than that can't find any faults other than durability, so you should make sure you get the warranty.

I trade in my classic to buy the itouch. My experience with this product has been wonderful. I cannot ask for a better product. I will be the first to stand in line whenever the 60 or 80g comes out.

I love this gadget. it has awsome amounts of apps you can download, great listening to music, watching videos, and surfing the web, and you can take it where ever you go.

I am in love with my Ipod Touch. I had an earlier version, but this is Apple's best by far. Besides music and video, I love the variety of applications available. I can manage bills, play games, you name it. Many apps are free, while others cost a few dollars. I take it everywhere with me. I have not downloaded Apple's new update, but it includes even more features for use on the touch. I enjoy all the features of the touch without needing the IPhone. The only thing you have to be careful about is the screen. It's quite fragile--I know of a few people who have cracked theirs. I keep a cover on mine at all times.

This Ipod Touch Is Simply AMAZING!!! I got This For my Boyfriend's Birthday and When We Opened the Box I was So Jealous that I'm Not Saving up to get one of my own. I've Had Other ipods but they are no comparison To the new iPod Touch 2g. The Graphic superb and the overall quality and design is nothing short of Breath taking. The Only con that I find in it is the simple fact that it scratches VERY easily so do be careful when taking it out of the box. Otherwise this Is an AMAZING product that I would recommend to anyone and everyone. I just can't wait for the next Generation Ipod Touch To Come out!!! ^_^

This is my favorite ipod yet. I would really be careful about this ipod more than anything. I can bring this anywhere, have internet access, up to 8,000 songs, and many apps. This is something that everyone should recommend or give as a present.

This IPOD Touch is amazing in everyway! Had problems with Battery life on the first one but PC Connection sent me a new one out UPS next day and the new machine is woring alot better with regards to battery life! Sent my old one back the day I received new one! PC Connection made that transaction a breeze! I would recommend this to anyone I know and even strangers and I would recmmend PC Connection as well. If I wasn't tied down in a contract with Sprint my home town provider of cell phones I would definatly get the IPhone! This unit is great to load movies on and watch on the airplane but you have to wear headphones and wish that they made it to go a little louder!

This I pod has got a nice format and plenty of space.
You might want to get the 32gb because you will use up 8 and 16GBs fast
so more space more fun

The iPod Touch has a host of features not found on other versions of this legendary music player. I have a rather large library and its built in search feature saves me from scrolling through long lists to find what I want to play. It's extremely easy to use and downright fun to use. I doubt if i'll have much use for the WiFi as I rarely go to places where it exist. I use my 3G phone for all that anyway. By all means, get the 32G version. Believe me, you'll outgrow the 8 or 16G versions in no time.
My major gripe is that as soon as I connected it to iTunes, I informed me that a new version of the software was available. now with all my other iPods, it was a simple matter of pressing the upgrade button and letting the new software download and install. This time it directed me to the apple store where I needed to purchase the upgrade for $9.99. That seems blatantly unfair for a brand new unit just out of the box.
Now, the Touch is basically and iPhone minus the phone. If

Finally broke down and bought one and I am so glad I did. Works great, screen is awesome, and sounds better then any other mp3 player I have bought. Best thing I like is free games to download on it so if you have a few minutes of free time, most of the free games are great for a quick break.

This thing is wonderful don't get me wrong. The ability to download songs on the go, Video quality is amazing, music quality is stupendous and to be able to check your email anywhere within an a WIFI Zone. All of the wonderful Apps. This is the best product on the market but like every other wonderful product it has some serious down falls. First off the battery doesn't get anywhere what is advertised, If you breathe on the ipod it will automatically scratche and smudge. Last but not least the price is outrageous. $400 dollars plus tax for an ipod is outrageous and don't forget you'll probably want a $60 warranty, $35 case, and a $50 iTunes card, and probably a $150 speaker set if you don't already own one. So when you get through your probably out of $700 if not more and that not even with tax included. Is it all worth it? Yes I know you think I'm crazy but you will probably have this ipod for the next 10 years at that price. Thank for reading my review.

I resisted getting an Ipod for years, because I hated the Apple hype and the smug, condescending attitudes of some the Apple fanatics. I broke down and got the 8 gig touch when my Zune 80 broke for the second time and I saw the 8 gig touch at a great price. Now that I've got it, I can now see what the noise was all about. This thing is absolutely amazing and puts every other player I've had to shame (Creative Zen W, Zune 30, Zune 80, Sansa). I just hate that I chickened out (because I thought it can't be that great) and only got the 8 gig (with only about 7 GB usable), which is not nearly enough memory. Don't even bother with the 8 gig, unless it's for a kid and maybe not even then. So far, my only complaint with my touch is that Apple charges for firmware upgrades (Boo, hiss). Now that made me mad, since my Ipod touch is nearly new.

My son gave me one for my 70th bday last month so I had to get one for my 74 yr old husband for Father's Day. We love them! Next step the IPhone!! You're never to old!

I've been wanting one of these forever! My friend has one and it works perfectly! The screen is responsive and easy to use and everything about works so good - except for maybe some buggy apps!
If you think this is worth buying please click yes! I still can't decide! :D

This was an upgrade for me from a 4GB iPod Mini (now obsolete.) I've had my iPod touch for about 3 weeks now. I have watched movies, listened to music, set up my email, listened to and watched podcasts, and downloaded a number of applications from the Apple Store. To put it simply, this is a fun, easy-to-use, great quality gadget that I would highly recommend to anyone. Get a good case, and purchase the extended warranty because you won't want to be without this baby.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Ipod Touch. It is easy to use, and was very easy to sync to my existing Itunes account. I was looking to upgrade from a 4G Nano to a Iphone, but did not want to trade phone plans. By choosing the Ipod touch, I get all the functionality of the Iphone, minus the phone ability. The Ipod Touch has better sound qualiy, the apps are fun, the wireless connection is great, and the ability to shuffle songs within a playlist is a great improvement. The battery life is shorter if using the apps functions, and it shows finger print glare (even with a screen protector). It is convenient to purchase songs and to download app updates directly from the Ipod Touch. The 32 G memory will last me for a long time. I do recommend a plastic protective case for the back, and screen savers for the touch screen.

One of my best purchuses. Wife and I both use it when we work out. When she is on the computer I can check my emails from the ipod. I use it everyday!

This thing is really good. 32gb is plenty of space for everything i want on it. EQ has plenty of settings for different kinds of music but there is no custom setting. Finding music on it is really easy even if you have a lot of it. Screen is really responsive and nice to work with. It is really good for playing videos and looking at pictures. I like the Wi - Fi, it fast and easy to work with even though it drains the battery really fast. And of course you have the apps which open a lot of different ways to use this thing than as just a music or video player. Battery life is really long for listening to music but when you are watching a movie it goes down to about 2.5 hours with medium screen brightness. iTouch looks very sharp and feels very solidly built. It's also light and fits into my jeans pocket easily. Apple earphones are not good though. And aside from price this is a very good buy.

I play into the whole Microsoft vs Apple politics - and i'm on the side of Microsoft so I try to poo poo everything Apple. However, Apple wins this round. This IPOD Touch has altered the way I do my computing. The way it feels in my hands - and i'm not saying this because Steve Jobs propagandized my mind into saying it, it was the first thing I thought of. Touching the screen is so addictive. It works great. The keyboard takes a bit getting used to. It has been worth the price I paid. Looking for free apps in the appstore is more fun than actually using the apps. Apple won me over with this device. I feel like a traitor but its such an innovative device I can't even falsely pretend I think it is not worthy. It is. It should win an award. Just so you know - I use this around my house - I have WIFI in my house - you may see people with IPhone's that use internet anywhere - with IPod Touch you need Wifi. I love my device.

With the large 2.5" multitouch display and the apple app store, this is a device you need if you want the iphone featutes with out the long term contract.
I do recomend getting a case, as well as a screen guard. This is my second 32GB ipod touch, as my last one fell off my bed and the entire screen cracked. (apple devices are very senstive)

I was introduced to the iPod Touch/iPhone interface last summer when the iPhone 3G was released. My wife purchased and iPhone with a new cell phone contract through AT&T and I had my chance to play around with the device. The little I did play with it I absolutely enjoyed. For the longest time, I've had multiple media devices all for doing different functions. Every time I would travel over night, I'd have to pack my: - iPod Video for music and movies. - Sony PSP for games. - Blackberry Curve for my email. - Laptop for internet access. What a hassle. Last month I figured that I had had enough of the multiple-device life and sold my PSP and gave a family member my iPod Video. I used the money from the Sony PSP to purchase the iPod Touch 16 GB. And I've never regretted the decision. For Gaming: I'm not a huge gamer, but I do like to "button mash" a decent platformer or play some video poker when I'm sitting in a hotel room or on a plane. With the Sony PSP (or even the Nintendo

I love this ipod; it has a lot of GB space. I have a lot of music and pictures on my ipod. The screen is cute and the images show up nice and clear. You can watch movies on this small screen; great for travel.

Apple® iPod® touch 32GB (2nd Generation) is the best because it has the most memory of the touchscreen models sold and it delivers per Apple website. BTW I checked out a really cool video on the product. Well, I ended up returning the 8GB at a warehouse membership store after trying it for 3 days and finding out how much space games and audio can take up, and I went to Best Buy right afterwards to get the 32GB. Best Buy matched the other store's 32GB price and offered a warranty. I am now enjoying audio/text Bible, cool games, videos, and music. It is so amazing what this IPOD can do compared to others, and the huge screen size.

I've owned Ipods for years and after quite a long time of using my Classic, I decided to take the plunge and buy a Touch. Definitely hold out for the 32 gig model.
I've taught myself through the years how to use the Itunes software and find it will do exactly what I want effortlessly, Keeping up with my tunes, covers, movies and keeping it tidy has become a kind of hobby.
I don't like the fact that Apple has increased the per song cost and see no enhancement in quality with these "improved" tunes.
As far as durability, I have dropped the Ipod a few times and had no problems. I do try to treat it with care and wouldn't put it in the hands of an irresponsible person

I've had this for about 3 months now, enjoyed it so much that I bought my son a 16 gig for his graduation present. I like the abundance of apps available and the ease of getting them.
The wifi is handy, haven't had any problems connecting at all. The online instruction manual is a little handy but I'm old enough that I'm thinking I'll try to print out the sections that I'll really use. If you're listening Apple, offering a free printed manual would be a nice perk.
I've had mine in a case since I bought it with a screen protector on it, don't take a chance and not do this! After spending $400 what's another $30 or so for a good case?
All in all I really enjoy this not only as a music player but for the functionality.

I am a die hard mp3 player purchaser. I have two Zens and a Cowon and I love them. I refused to purchase the Apple Ipod because my other mp3s had better memory and features. When I was looking for a updated Zen I came across some reviews on the Ipod Touch 2g and liked what I read. I got a REAL good deal here at Amazon (my favorite place to shop online), so I bit the bullet. Boy am I glad I did!!!!! I find it hard to put my little buddy down. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a mp3 player, portable wifi browser, game player, personal assistant, etc. The only con I have is the earphones, they really suck. I already had a pair of Shure SE530 so this was easily resolved.

This product allows you to get all the apps you want. This includes games, health tips, fun facts, puzzles and many other things. The music is easy to access and there is always something to do on it. The only problem is the fact that you need internet connection for most of the things to work. Without it there are some apps like google earth or facebook that do not work.

This is the one MP3 player/multimedia device with internet capability that can do just about everything you want. It is thin, light, fast and responsive. The screen is bright and does not drain the battery. Surprisingly, I was able to dock and charge it using the old iPod alarm clocks, old Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere, and Logitech AudioStation High Performance Stereo System for iPod.

The 32GB iPod Touch is a great device and an excellent choice for a gift. It combines listening, watching, and the fun of games to an already great device.

I think that the iPod Touch is the greatest MP3 player on the market. The only bad thing is, is that if you want to get the whole experience of the Touch, you have to have a wireless internet in your home, if you dont have the internet, I would recomend not buying this product. There are so many great things that the Touch can do, there is internet, great fun apps (even lots of free ones!!!), and much much more.
Overall, this is the greatest MP3 player on the market!!!

coming from a windows world, i started with a shuffle, then got a nano and then an apple airport extreme and a bunch of airport expresses. ap extreme is the apple router and the expresses are plug-in extensions which expand the wifi and also add an audio port (optical or analog!)so that you can stream your itunes throughout your house. turning each speaker port on or off and even broadcasting through the whole house!
i then found out that an itouch can be programmed (through an app) to act as a remote for the itunes on any computer on the network! the only comparable system i had seen which would give me whole house broadcasting was thousands of dollars. i bought the itouch and sure enough it worked as a remote. i could sit by the pool and select songs, create playlists, volume, etc from a deck chair.
and all of it worked perfectly.
BUT
the itouch has two flaws which do annoy me.
a) the battery life is awful. no other way to say it. i even bought a supplemental battery pack for it,

I've wanted one of these for years and finally got one. I was amazed of the features, functionality, size, and battery life -- all exceeded my expectations.
After giving it a good charge and syncing it to my iTunes library, I left for vacation. The small unit has an incredible battery life even with WiFi enabled (although you can push it further by disabling WiFi if you are not using it). I got several hours out of it playing games and watching movies. (Note: for more time on-the-go, the Griffin TuneJuice [item# 7117332] will charge & power the iPod for an additional 6+ hours on 4 AAA batteries.)
Loading music, movies, and apps is simple if you use iTunes. I have put about 18gb of content on mine and it sync'ed fairly quickly. Additional content can be loaded directly from the iTunes Store via WiFi without attaching the iPod to an additional computer.
I found that all my QuickTime movies played on the iPod Touch with no conversion necessary. However, even

I'm one of those who must be listening to music to clean, do laundry or drive. The iPod Touch has been perfect for me. Its easy peasy to use and I love the fact the I can get on the internet from it as well if I need to. I have plenty of music videos and over 500 songs and I'm still not up to half way full on my memory! Greatness.

I just got my itouch 2nd gen. yesterday. I've been playing with for a number of hours. It works great. No freezes or crashes. All apps work well. Music plays easily. Internet and email easy to set up and use. Wonderful device. There were some questions I wanted answered about the itouch and I'll give you the answers so you don't have to look around like i did.
1. Does it come with a charger?
Not a wall charger. It comes with a usb cable which will charge it, but your computer has to be on for it to do so.
2. Does it really have as much memory it says it has?
No. Most electronics don't. It is usually from a half gb to a gb taken for software. Keep this in mind when buying. If you get an 8 gb it really has about 7gb of free space!!
3. Is it worth it to buy a screen protector?
YES!!!!!! Go to your nearest iPlace store. They sell a two pack for $10. As soon as you get your iTouch, put one screen protector on (save the other). I can't tell you how many fingerprints are on mine already

This is my third Ipod and so far the best. The last one I had was a classic, I don't remember what generation, but one of the last ones. I only replaced it because my son broke his and he needed more space on one anyway. I haven't tried all the features yet, haven't had time to set them up while in a wireless zone, but looking forward to it. So far I'm just playing music and I have been using it at work plugged into a mini shelf stereo. I was concerned about the battery life based on one other review I read, but I've been running it for about 11 hours straight each day and I don't even lose a quarter of the battery life. I would leave the settings of locking after 1 minute to save battery life if just playing music. I could see it eating more if playing videos but I'm still not worried based on my experience. It's very light weight. It's so shiny that I'm worried about scratching it, but I haven't yet. I'll be getting a case soon so I can put it in my purse without worries. It would be

Well after foolishly spending my hard-earned money on other MP3 players (and them all sucking badly) - I finally "bit-the-bullet" and bought a 32-gig iPod Touch. What can I say, except this thing totally kicks butt. Awesome hi-def display, plenty of room for all of music, movies and photos - plus of course the fantastic iTunes store with all of the zillion of free apps, podcasts and t.v shows.
With iTunes, converting WMA songs to AAC format is a piece of cake. Everything transfers smoothly and the interface is very easy to understand. The unit is now metal-backed with external speakers - so it is a sturdy piece of equipment. With other players, I always felt that I had to treat them gingerly - not so much with the iTouch.
I've also heard some people say that the iPods don't have good sound quality. WRONG! The music quality is fantastic and if you spend a $20 on a pair of Sony earphones (at Best Buy, of course - get Heavy Bass, if you can) - then the sound is off-da-hook

Great product! With a wi-fi connection, it becomes a "can't put it down" device. Without a connection it's good for watching movies and listening to music and playing games.

All of the neat lights & whistles in the world become irrelevant if the battery life of a device can't support the functionality. Amazon.com was great in its customer support--providing prepaid shipping for the return and, I assume, a full refund once they receive the product. Now, on to comments on the product.
First, Apple seems to believe that its products are self-explanatory. There is not even a "Quick Start" guide included with the product--everything is online. Maybe folks who are on their third or fourth or n-th iPod can learn as they go, but those of us who are new to iPods need support and guidance. Perhaps, Apple doesn't care about expanding its market (to us). But, what led us to return this item was the really, really bad battery life--consistent with the vast majority of blogs on the Touch 2G. Case in point, with about 20% battery life left, iPod was shut down for the night (fully shut down, not just sleeping). The next morning, "critically low battery" was how

arrived on time, new in box as promised. I love the ipod touch! Haven't had any problems. It's awesome for keeping my calendar while I'm out and then can sync it up to my computer when I get home. Or vice versa. Has features of iphone, except phone and camera, with no monthly fees.

I bought it on 4/27/2008. Had to charge it up first before using it. This is my first iPod and it was easy to use with no issues what so ever. I first had the 8 gig and I upgrade to the 32 I would like to have more room.
If you do not have an iPod get it now. I was told iPods are no good and they are junk but my works good.
The store staff in Wausau,WI was real nice and walked me thru the steps on how to get it going. Thanks guys @ Wausau.

This is one of those life-altering technologies. It's a cross between a laptop and an iPod. If you don't need a Blackberry and don't want to carry a laptop, but do want better access to email and have loads of entertainment and educational options at your fingertips, the iTouch is for you. Setting up the email function can take a little thought, depending on your e-mail service and how sophisticated your setup is (I haven't completely got my VPN service straightened out). Games and entertainment eat the battery but just playing music seems to go lightly on the battery. The album-flow is far more fun than I expected.

Can't say enough how much I love playing with my new gadget - battery life is shorter than I perfer, but other than that it's perfect!

All I can say is, "It is Apple Product" The features on the unit is just like the 8-16G but with more space. So, if u love video, music, internet, etc, etc, you will love it. don't buy twice like I did! sorta, I purchased the 16 first, had it for a week and took it back because I was almost full. I paid the extra $125 and got the 32 and I am totally happy!

I bought the IPOD 2nd Generation for my husband as a b-day gift. Suffice it to say he was very pleased, he always has an eye for new technology and he is also a music fan. It was the perfect gift for him, especially since he plays the drums. He takes his music everywhere he goes and never misses a beat!!:)

cons battery life while surfing the web
and sites that are password protected
pros lightweight, small, great color, ease of use features, different applications available, value. device arrived on time and was as promised

Very easy to use, but you pay for the best product out there (32GB model). Battery life is as all the reviewers say, poor for video and games 1-1.5 hours only. All and all, buy some chargers for the road and it's a great little device. I really like the photo display feature, the general organization of your songs and folders, and the vast amount of applications on the web.
Now if Apple can improve itunes software for the PC' this will make for a 100% recommendation. I am using ver. 8.1 and it's a little less intuitive than the iPod itself. Would like to see my music location (file path) and some better tools to organize and manage the files. I was also not thrilled how most of my WAV and MP3 songs sounded terrible on the iPod, but at least the software converts to apple format. So, I had to delete all my playlists on the software and just re-connect to all the converted versions of the songs. That made it slow to call this plug and play right out of the box. I love the radio

PC Connection was a great place to purchase my new iPod. They had the best price and fast free shipping. This is my first iPod and I love it. I got the 32gb model and marvel at how much I can put on it, Movies, Music, Podcasts, and I really like that most of the apps for the iPhone work on my Touch. Great job PCC.

I researched mobile devices pretty carefully - kept wanting an alternative to the AT&T iphone prices; liked the Nokia N95, but I can buy several GPSs for the difference in price, and I like the slightly outdated Mio I already have. The 2nd gen ipod touch is so useful, I bought a second one for my wife after 2 months. Slightly tedious to type on, but I can now live without my laptop on business trips. Looking forward to trying skype on it.

This is the best ipod I have ever had. I have had an ipod video and a 1st gen 16gig touch, and the 2nd gen is perfect. From the internal speakers to the nice contoured shape, this is truly a marvel of design and engineering.

I purchased the iTouch primarily to use downloadable apps on. I downloaded two radio listening applications only to find out that the Wi-Fi gets disconnected when the unit goes into autolock mode. The only way to keep Wi-Fi going is to disable autolock in which case the screen never goes into power save mode. This is a serious shortcoming which Apple should fix with a future firmware update. Other than that, the iTouch is a pretty cool device and does everything else well. Just a bit overpriced, though.

Bought one for my husband -- he LOVES IT!!!! He uses it more for watching videos on the internet than for music. Got another for our son for his birthday -- to replace a 60GB iPod. He knows it's coming and can't wait!

Wow, I have to say that apple blew it out of the water with this next generation entertainment station (that’s what I call it). Overall this product is a most have. The user interface is really simple to use; its so simple to use that my mother who hates to deal with technology Loves it. Another great feature of this device is that you can customize it to whatever you need through the app store's wide selection of free and economical applications. If you are bored and away from home don’t worry you'll be fine with applications that let you stream live radio, turn your phone in to a piano, read a book, learn about pretty much anything you can think off, find fun things to do near by, check the movie times to your local theaters, get directions to pretty much any ware or just play a game by your self or even with a friend. You can even conveniently surf the web and access your email, or even send an instant message through the built in WIFI on the device that lets you connect

We bought this for our 15 year old son. He has not put it down since he got it at Christmas except for sleeping and charging. The features are really cool. He purchased the I-Phone package for it and really enjoys the down loads, wi-fi, games and MUSIC!!! It is pretty tough too because it has spent most of its time in the pocket of a teenager.

Excellent product and nice performance.
I wish the "home button" will be more responsive and do not wait ... I do not know how many seconds until respond.
One more thing ... camera. A decent camera will justify the price.

This Ipod is great. There are days when I am not able to check my e-mail on my computer. but with the wifi. I can log on to my account almost anywhere I go and check my e-mail. and the free software from the apple store is great.

Ok, first off, I don't know why people are complaining about the battery life. Anyone that has owned a laptop would know that screen brightness and wi-fi are a big drain on a battery. With that said, go into settings and set the brightness level and turn off the wi-fi when not in use. I got two days worth of battery life. I really like the option to set the screen brightness to auto because it changes in different light settings.
This is the first ipod that I have ever owned. I have had other mp3 players and this blows all of them out of the water. The only complaint I have is the size of memory and the price, but after getting to know this device, and getting apps, games, and numerous other things those worries go away. It really is worth every penny you put into it. I have no remorse about it.
There are only two things I wish they would have put into it. That is bluetooth capabilities and a camera. In all seriousness, those are not options to worry about because bluetooth

I bought this as a gift for my dad, who is not the most technical out of the family. The first day he had a bit of trouble with it, but the the third day he was showing me things i did not think you could do with it. It takes a little getting used to, but it is amazingly simple after you figure it out. It is very fast and user friendly.

Nothing is perfect. But my new Ipod touch, it is! Take my best photos, listen to my collection of my music, the best videos, access my e-mail is all I can ask. It is the best complement to the lifestyle that I have! (now I am full flight attendant) ... I recommend it!

This iPod Touch is definitely the best, most useful creation invented so far. The only thing that beats it is the iPhone and that's only because it has a phone. This iPod is useful for anything and when you're bored, you can always just download apps. If you don't have it, Buy it! I guarantee you'll love it. And of course, Best Buy is the place to go for all your electronic needs!

ITouch was the best Christmas gift! Its ease of use, multiple abilities, graphics, are awesome. Though a bit pricey, for someone who will use it, it's worth the price. I had a nano for a year and rarely used it. My ITouch is always with me.

This was a great purchase, the product is everything I expected and more. Along with the App Store, it makes this product even more useful for everyday use. I barely use the iPod for listening to music, it has become part of my daily business practices from keeping track of mileage, checking emails when I'm traveling and much more. You gotta get one!

I bought two of these. One for myself and one for a friend. It is smaller than the first gneration but has a beautiful screen. Having web access and wifi means I don't have to lug my laptop around as much. It's easy to load music an photos. The reason for the four stars for ease of use is that it only syncs one way. I loaded the ipod with photos and the first time it was connected to a different computer, all the photos disappeared because the computer automatically synced to the ipod. When the preferences are set correctly this will not happen again.

Exactly as advertised. I even called customer service to get additional info about how to use it (since it was a gift) and they were awesome. Will definitely order through PC Connection again for price, customer service, and professional advice! Keep up the great work.

Bought the 32 Ipod touch for my son for Christmas. He has been showing me all kinds of great things you can do and find. What an amazing little item! He likes the scroll and the enlarge minimize, they seem to work very well.

The image quality is excellent, the application store is great. The web browsing is great especially for this size screen. I travel a lot and this is serving to pass the hours on many international flights.
Only con is that the battery life is only a couple of hours when playing games. It lasts longer with video, and even longer when only playing MP3s.

This is a great way to carry my entire music library with me, utilizing memory space for only the songs off of CD's that I want to listen to. I have over one thousand pictures saved, again using small amounts of memory. The only down side is the amount of money accessorizing it takes to make the unit more functional; such as a cover to protect it, FM transmitter to listen to it in the car, chargers for the car and non-USB chargers for inside the house. Then there is the need for a docking station with speakers for inside the house (Bose or Altec Lansing are the best).
Overall I use it everywhere, but look well beyond the $399.99 price tag.......because I spent that much and more in accessories alone, just to make it work for me. With all the accessories, it is now one "HOT" versatile must have for me!
As for use, I had to buy a book to explain all the features and functions, as it does not come with printed instructions or a "how to" booklet. (yet another accessory for me, but well

Bought this with some reservations due to price for 32 gb model. However, it is the best gadget in years. Wifi works great. Games are truly fun and addicting. Music and video player are stunning. Web, e-mail, etc., work flawlessly. If it was cheaper, I'd get one for everybody in the family.

I've been using an iPod Classic 60 gb for about the last three years but now the screen is failing and the battery won't keep a charge for long so I decided it was time to replace it. I was torn between the iPod Touch and the Classic iPod 120 gb but opted for the Touch 32 gb because I liked its mobile internet capability. When it finally arrived and I fired it up I was blown away with the color and sharpness of the screen--as well as its size. And, I love that you only have to touch the screen rather than using the click wheel. That said, I've had to develop a delicate touch as my fingers are large and whilst typing an Internet address can hit the wrong key. :o(
Connecting to the Internet is quick and pages load fast--not as fast as on my iMac but pretty fast for something that fits in the palm of your hand.
Sound quality is, as with my old iPod, excellent.
I am quite satisfied with the iPod Touch and would buy it again and recommend it to all. One bit of advice: buy a case

Best handheld gaming device. Match it with a CradlePoint PHS300 and a 3G usb modem and you've got better portable web connectivity than the iPhone 3G.
The only downside - it's as slippery as a wet bar of soap (rubber case highly recommended).

This is the greatest little device i have ever used. You can do anything you want on it. You can go on the internet, play games, listen to music, watch videos, and much more. It is a little expensive; however, you get a lot for the money you pay. I'm in love with this iPod. The only thing that is bad about it is it tends to run low on battery quite quickly, but it's not too big of a deal.

Its the best thing thats happened in a while, everything blew me away, the best thing was I took a iphone and compared the safari and the ipod touch was faster.

I really love this thing. The screen is so big and clear. Cover flow looks great. I love having the wi-fi capability, and there are tons of apps that are useful and fun. The battery lasts very long too. For having so many features, it's tiny!

I bought this for ical (which is awesome!) and for music. I've used it for so much more. I have excel charts, word documents on it, and I can even take notes during class and then email them to myself. It is hands down awesome. Be careful with scratches. I recommend Invisible Shield by ZAGG and also getting a case early on. I've played hours of games on it, and my wife even joins in for the fun. Most of the apps I have were free and the ones I've bought were really cheap considering how helpful of fun they are. I don't view my ipod touch as an mp3 player, but rather a basic mini computer that is so user friendly that you're a pro at everything on the first try. Do take time and read up on the features there are some easy and cool ones that save you even more time. Get the 8gb if you're not into the music part too much, apps don't take up a lot of space

I wanted an iPhone, but alas, AT&T does not work at my house. AND, it would add over $1000/year to my cell phone bill to switch. That was not going to happen. So I got the next best thing, an iPod Touch. This is basically an iPhone without the phone, bluetooth, or camera. It will run 90% of all the iPhone software, but uses wireless instead of the G3 network.
It is a LOT of fun, there are thousands of applications and games available for it now, and it is very hard to set down once you pick it up. The initial battery life is fairly good IF you are not using Wifi. For music, I can go several days without a recharge. With Wifi on, the battery drains in a several hours of play.
I do wish they had added the camera, and a microphone input so that some of the new iPhone apps, like the one that identifies music would run on this. But for the price, and NO monthly fee, one cannot complain.

My old ipod video was getting old and I wanted to get a new one. I went to Best Buy and got one of these. I love it! I love to view pictures on it and listen to music. The 8GB would of been enough but I have a lot of pictures so I got the 32 and I love it.

Let me start by saying I have actually used the touch for a few weeks...ie, i didn't JUST get it and write a review about it because I was so excited to get my new toy like everyone seems to do. Anyway...
I got this to listen to music and check my email while at college...it doesn't do either well at all. I use to use a Nano and a labtop to perform these functions and will be going back to that setup.
My standard truck sound system sounds better then the touch, that's how bad it sounds. I have a nano and it has 10x better sound quality. Also, it is very difficult to get it to connect to the internet...well you can connect to a wifi but when you go to use it, it comes up with an error saying you aren't connected to the internet. I have to shut if off and turn it back on several times for it to connect. Also, when it does connect it won't update my gmail emails even when I manualy tell it to. I have to go to safari and enter my username and password to get my mail. What's

This device can really do it all. I can't afford an iPhone, but I don't feel left out with this iPod. The web browser is rather slow, but not unacceptably so. As long as you have access to wireless, you can do some amazing things. If you don't have wireless, you can still use it to watch movies or as a regular iPod.

THIS IS SO FAR BETTER THAN ANY OTHER MP3 PLAYER ITS JUST INSANE WITH ALL THE PROGRAMS YOU CAN DOWNLOAD TO IT. I WISH THEY WOULD HAVE COME OUT WITH THIS TEN YEARS AGO, I WOULD STILL HAVE IT FROM WAY BACK THEN. WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO DO... ANSWER ME THAT APPLE...

Great touch screen, able to expand characters on the fly,Long battery life for music, short battery life when on the internet or video, but when comparing it to a laptop it is actually longer. This was my alternative to a laptop, did not want to lug a laptop around, this newest addition to ipod at 32 GB I have added thousands of songs and a dozen movies from itunes, Otherwise I would mostly use it to surf the web. Some of the applications, are comparable or better than a laptop because they are streamlined and most are free. The small speaker is great in a quite enviroment. Movies , music, games, edutainment, this will be the future of computing, and will fit in your pocket. The next itouch though I hope they add a camera and mic.
