I bought this just for the Radio, as replacement to existing SONY Video walkman with in ear head phones.
In ear, noise cancelling ear phones sound great.
Generate excellent sound. I have listened to IPOD with BOSE headset but this set is far better than that :)
the only thing was... I spent 190 coz it was new to the market and none gave me a lowest price :(
but if you are looking for Good and real theatre sound quality, close eyes and pick this one...
Positive points over IPOD:
far better sound quality ( Ultimate BASS and Treble)
greater battery life ( upto 35 hours on a single full charge)
easy to copy songs ( just drag and drop, no hassle of i tunes)
Radio , which is not available in IPOD.
I suggest IPOD buyers to listen to this one before buying IPOD :)

I bought this player for my son, not being satisfied with the sound quality of the Ipod nano. It really delivers superb sound quality, way beyond all Ipods - and all other players - that I've tried. The noise cancelling function does not provide dramatic improvement over the insulation already provided by very tightly fitted earphones, but is still nice to have. The build quality seems to be very high. Control is easy and intuitive. Since it's pretty new, Sony hasn't yet marketed a matching protective case. Hope that this comes soon.

I owned an iPod nano and classic before this. Although I do miss the iPod wheel for navigation, this mp3 player encorporates a very good FM radio. I would not use the software provided with this player. Instead, download winamp (free) or use windows media player. That way you can create playlists. The headphones are good, but not great. The noise cancelling works ok, but it only works with the headphones provided. The headphones have a groove sticking out, so you cannot use these headphones with other players. You can however use other headphones with this player. You can buy a custom armband for this player too; however, the volume button is hidden and hard to use with the custom armband (a flaw.) The video works good and you can tilt the video via a command on the menu; however, it does not tilt automatically like the new iPod nano.
