This is a great set of speakers if you are looking for a portable way to listen to your mp3 player without using headphones or earbuds. (Remember you have to turn up the volume on the mp3 to at least 80% of the maximum to get the best input to the speakers, but this is typical for this type of product.) The sound quality is excellent and surprisingly powerful for such small speakers.
As you can expect from Sony, the design is attractive and very user friendly. The on/off and volume control is very accessible on the top of the left speaker and this is also where the adapter plugs in, if you want to use it. The right speaker holds the 3 AAA batteries (not included). I like that these speakers come with an AC adapter so that you aren't forced to burn through batteries if you are near an outlet and prefer to just plug in. Sony even designed the speakers to "lock" together if you need to move them around. I think this is a fantastic product that looks great and sounds great.

Ok I dont know how to even put into words how good these sound. I bought them to replace my pc speakers because I listen to Pandora Radio and lots of mp3's on my PC THESE ROCK!!
The plug fits my pc perfectly and with the a/c adapter I never have to worry about batteries. I have owned tower speakers that didnt sound this good and they definately blow away most PC speaker sets. I believe them to be a bit pricey but the old addage holds true, You get what yo pay for!
I dont know much about battery life because I never intend to use them that way but the one review mentioned distortion at higher levels. I have perfect hearing and I gotta tell ya I dont know if it destorts or not, Ive never had to turn them up that high!
So get a set and if youre not hearing impared Im betting you'll be very impressed!

I researched and researched different sites for speakers that would work in my office. I did not want a tinny sound and wanted sleek looking and discreet speakers. These are perfect!! The sound is very impressive for their size and produce a good sound and volume for an office. Of course they aren't meant to be your main speakers for your home system but in a kitchen, office, or by the bathtub...great!!!! They aren't tinny and don't distort and I can crank the volume and bass sometimes. So I would highly recommend anyone buy these speakers. In fact, I may get a second set for my office at home.

These speakers will be a vast improvement over those installed on my laptop. The sound is great -- not tinny sounding in the least. My only complaint is that the volume is not quite as loud as I had hoped.
