Great delivery. No issues or scratches on 'open box' item. Has been working perfectly from the first day of set up. The TV itself is amazing! I have both the Samsung flat screens and Sony and while both are good, the Sony XBR6 really stands out in color, depth and black components.

I spent a long time researching my decision to purchase this particular TV. I narrowed my decision to two choices, the Sony KDL-46XBR6 and the Samsung A650. I was leaning towards the Samsung because of price and “bang for your buck” but after witnessing the display first hand in my local Best Buy store, I realized that the glare was way to apparent for my particular viewing area. I purchased the Sony.

After hooking up the new Sony, a Blue Ray movie was immediately loading into my PS3. The picture quality was breath taking from start to finish. I read quite a few reviews referring to other Sony models having issues with “Auto Dimming” during times of low light. This is a non issue with the KDL-46XBR6.All in all this TV is well worth the extra $ for an excellent picture and the Sony quality we have learning to expect and appreciate.

This is out third Sony XBR T.V. We believe it to be the best . Our first one is @ 10 years old and never gave any problems.
If you are looking for quality and a good picture this is the T.V. that you need or any other size in the XBR line. This is a XBR 6 The best is the XBR 8.for picture quality.....but also it is a lot more expensive.
So for an affordable T.V. this is the one to get.............

I didn't shop around too much for a TV, but like alot of people, did alot of research online. A while back, an Aquos display at the mall caught my eye, but that was set up with a DVD to show off the display. The Aquos didn't look as good to me at the other stores. At regular stores like Costco, Sam's club, and Best Buy, etc... the Sonys always looked best to me, especially the XBRs which not everyone carried. I narrowed it down to compare the new Samsung LEDs with the Sony XBRs. I saw a new 40" Samsung B6000 next to a Sony 40" XBR6 at Best Buy and the Samsung picture looked only slightly better, but not $600+ better. The Sony was selling for $1,444, and the just-out Samsung for like $2100. I decided on the Sony, and Amazon Warehouse Deals had an open box 46" for about the price of a 40". The listing said there were slight cosmetic blemishes on the case. I was a bit apprehensive, but since amazon had the 30-day return, I went for it. The shipping company was Pilot, and my delivery guy

I couldn't be happier with the picture. The sound is average at best (as with any flat screen). Try to make room in your budget for a/v receiver and 5.1 speakers if possible. I went from a crt 27" to this unit as well as surround and can't believe what i've been missing. I watch a lot of sports and movies. Football and hockey look absolutely amazing now i'm waiting for baseball.

After careful research, I decided to buy the 46XBR6 from Amazon. They offered free white glove delivery and a nice low price. The shipping company was the absolute worst! They showed up 3.5 hrs early and got me out of the shower. They didn't even want to wait for me to get dressed. I called the shipping company and complained but never heard another thing. The TV is absolutely gorgeous and meets every expectation. I should have gotten the 52" instead since I have enough room. Oh well, maybe next time.

Just purchased directly from amazon.com. TV has an awesome picture and a lot of features. By far the best picture I have seen on any current LCD TV on the market. This TV's sound is like having a high end surround sound system. Amazon.com direct ship went perfect. TV was promised in 5-7 business days and I got mine in 3 business days. Great buy at a great price.

I love this TV and anyone who walks into my house loves this TV. It's the best possible that i've seen for sports and action movies. You have to turn the motion smooth feature on to notice, I'm not the best at reading the manuals on new toys. I'm not a big Blue-Ray fan, it makes everything look like a soap-opera, but I imagine they look pretty good on this TV for those who do. Haven't really used the TV's speakers so I didn't rate the sound. I worked at a circuit city when I was in school and the XBR's were always the best TV's, so it was an easy choice for me. The main competition was a samsung. Glad I got this one though.

The White Glove Service left a little to be desired. They were running several hours late and wanted to get in, unpacked and out as quickly as possible.
The TV, however, surpasses all my expectations. I've read several reviews about the blacks having "clouds" or streaks of light. Nothing like that on ours and the Blu-Ray disks are more clear than going to a theater.

I just want to start off with saying that until I purchased this t.v. I've never been a fan of Sony. For me it seemed that they only made over-priced, mediocre electronics that didn't ever compare to what the rest of the industry was providing. Yet, after endless research I decided to buy this Sony as our first ever flat screen t.v. and all I can say is WOW!! I've seen HD on countless other flat screens over the years, but this set is by far the best for under $2000. I was dead set on getting the Samsung 650 for the last 4-5 months because the image was so beautiful in every store I saw them in and it seemed like the best deal for the money (not crazy expensive, but not cheap such as other lesser known brands). However, i was looking around in a Frye's one day and saw the Sony XBR6 on display right next to a Samsung 650 and was surprised at just how much brighter, clearer and more detailed the Sony was! They were each running the same video loop and you could easily see that the Sony

We have cable with HD and my wife loves sports. We considered lots of cheaper tvs but I went with Sony XBR because it is supposed to be better at showing the action of sports. My wife thinks that it is great. The Best Buy sales people were very helpful too. We also got the Sony BlueRay dvd player to use.

This was my first flat panel purchase and I am WOWED! This is an excellent TV! It was $800 off so I changed what I was going to buy and got this XBR. It has unbelievable picture and pretty good sound. I bought the Bravia Home Theater to go with it and MAN, what a duo! You will NOT be disappointed!

As first I was not impressed with the picture until I turned off the auto light feature. Turn this feature off!! The picture will blow you away espically with a PS3 or even HD cable. Sound is okay with normal TV viewing, but you need something better if you want to watch movies. I was tossed between this and the samsung but I'm glad I got the sony.

The picture stinks if you don't get HD service, so don't bother buying ANY flat screen unless you are going to tack on the extra, on-going cost of HD. I confirmed the same experience with my sister who just bought a different brand flat screen.

We went with this one after visiting the big box stores and reading all the reviews. The picture is incredible when you get HD. We use a satellite network, and please be aware that in order to get the best HD picture your DVR unit has to be located near the TV (instead of in a different room like ours was.) I don't like looking at the DVR unit, so we bought a new media center that has shutter doors so there is air flow, and we had already invested in the special remote where the frequency goes through walls/doors.

The only 2 things nit-picky things I don't like are this:
-- the SONY lights up when you turn it on. It really drove us crazy at first, but I got over it after a couple of days and don't "see" it anymore. The only good thing about

I bought the new 47" Vizio at Costco based on price. Got it home and after 3-4 days of messing with the picture settings I took it back. Saw an ad at Ultimate Electronics for XBR brought it to Best Buy, they matched the price and I put it on my Rewards card. This TV was double the price but you get what you pay for here!! Very easy to set up, picture is very good without HD yet and DVD's are unbelievable- I can't wait to see BlueRays! We have 3 Sony tube sets in the house and maybe we are Sony Snobs but it's hard to agrue with this set. None of the panels that I researched have strong speakers, these are okay, I run the TV through surround stereo for DVD's and you can't beat the viewing experience! Sony does it again.

I received this TV and the Blu Ray player this Sunday. The delivery by CEVA was without a hitch and I installed the TV on my wall without any issues. However, when I turn on or turn off my TV, there is a loud clicking sound (something similar to the old Trinitron CRT). Is this normal? My Sony 4100 was completely silent and made no noise when turning on or off.

Once the TV is on, the picture quality is excellent when I am standing in front of the TV. If I move a couple of steps to the right or left and watch the TV from an angle, the picture quality deteriorates considerably. The blacks show up as greys and the colors seem faded. I read the TV specs, and it mentioned that the TV viewing angle is 178 degrees. But I see a deterioration in the picture quality after about 40 degrees. There was no color or picture deterioration on my Sony 4100 when viewed at an angle.

Can someone please post a comment and let me know if these two issues are normal for a XBR6?

Other than these two issues, the

This TV is exceptional in every way. The color and picture are perfect, clear and you feel like you are on the field during the Pittsburgh Steeler games. We have it hooked up to a Bose system and the sound is awesome. Would highly recommend this TV if you have HD access on your satellite or cable.

The 46" Sony TV works good, but does need some adjustment to the picture. I've tried to make adjustments exactly as the manual instructs, but to no avail. No big deal, but I guess I'll have to call the service dept. Now on to what really bothers me.... The promise of "White Glove" delivery.

Our new TV was delivered on Dec. 23, 2008 at 5:45PM. We paid for and expected "White Glove" delivery service. What we got was ONE individual who was "sorry" that he was unable to install the TV (Sony 46") on a new TV stand we purchased because it was too big for him to handle alone. (I offered to help.) We had EVERYTHING set up and ready for the installation. What the delivery people (we expected more than one guy)had to do was attach two brackets to the back of the TV and hang the TV on the stand. Really, no big deal. The individual again was "sorry", but he was only able to do a "standard" set-up. I guess the standard set-up consisted of placing the TV on a table and walking away. We ended

I own 46" XBR6 for about 3 weeks now, I use this as a monitor from time to time and find primary colors somewhat inaccurate. Though I have to say this display does provide POP people ask for. I have not played any blu-ray movies so can't comment on that but pretty sure it would look great. Black levels are much better than I expected from an LCD. Even SDTV feed from cable looks better than expected but not for all programming so I can firmly say that upconversion process is pretty good. I did not see any motion blur while watching football. My initial comment about non-accurate color is more evident when you have another TV/monitor side by side (i have 21" NEC Professional series CRT next to my 46XBR6), otherwise it would be hard to tell for most people as my wife and friends were not able to see inaccurate primary colors until i turned my NEC.

I have had this now for a little over two weeks, and am blown away by the picture quality. The reviewer who complained about only one rf antenna input needs to get a new set top box from the cable company or change to a new provider. I am subscribed to Verizon FIOS in the Maryland suburbs, and their set top box for HD has multiple outputs including an HDMI. This TV has multiple inputs, including a single RF input for off the air or cable; three older yellow, red and white types; two component inputs, 4 HDMI inputs plus a PC and DMeX input. This should cover everyone's needs. The remote will control up to 4 devices including Verizon's STB, and you can program it tell you what device you are connecting.

Overall, I was pleased with the white glove delivery. The CEVA company out of Odenton said they would deliver it between 10 and 3, but the driver didn't arrive until 5. In his defense, he said that this was the last of his 22 appointments for that day. He came in and helped to move

Bought this set after my 10 year Sony projection TV gave up. Looked at the Samsungs but ruled them out due to screen glare and terrible sound. This set is amazing with blue-ray. Could not be more pleased with its performance. Thought I got a good price initially, but after 2 price matches later, it was a bargain. Thanks Best Buy for a great product and excellent customer service. I will be back!

The picture on this set is the most remarkable I have ever seen and I have been watching television since 1939. It does have one strange problem. When connected to Time Warner cable in New York City, the sound goes off for a few seconds at irregular intervals - it could be once every five minutes or it could be once an hour. If the same HDMI input is used for the Blu Ray player there is no problem. Nor is there a problem if the Time Warner box is connected to a 22 inch Sony High definition set. Sony has no idea what to do.

I purchased a Sony 46XBR6 from Amazon.com Sony wins hands down on Value, and Quality, over other brands.
The TV that I am replacing is a Sony (18 yrs of service and still works very good). Amazon.com is the best to deal with, not only the best price
but they sell quality items.I received my XBR in 5 days, the Free White Glove Delivery via Pilot Freight was the Best Service I ever had,They delivered to my home, ask what room did I want the Sony in.The driver offered to un-pack it. Amazon is most Honest, during shipping there was a price drop, I called customer service and within one minute they adjusted my purchase price, emailed me a credit for the lower price. And they have real live people to talk to.Very Happy with Sony and Amazon.com,"I will be back"

I got this TV a little bit over a month ago and have put in about 100 hours of viewing I would guesstimate. After that time I would say the TV has an incredible picture. Some people said the color variation was a little off but I haven't seen this. I did setup the custom picture setting by using the THX video optimizer included with newer pixar movies and star wars films. This made a big difference in overall picture quality and was very easy to do. The brightness of this display is impressive even when first turned on. The CCFL backlight seems to come to full brightness very quickly and evenly distributes the brightness extremely well. Color representation appears to be dead on with all types of media (cable, blu-ray, dvd, ps3, xbox). The motion plus feature is great when watching sports but can cause some juddering effects while watching non-sport content. The response time for video games is also a plus with no visible judders but this is with game mode turned on. The tv really

1st Contact: Great Looks, not as bulky as other sets in the market.
1st hook up: Pretty much plug and play. PS3 and Cable box with HDMI cables. WII with standard RCA video (Yes I know, I have to upgrade to composite at the very least.
Power on and initial set up: A breeze!
Results, Impressive set, and with the current price I don't think there is anything on the market to rival its value.
I am really a Sony fan, and this product did not disapoint. Kudos Sony.

I have always purchased Sony televisions because of their quality and the reliability. The Sony Bravia XBR KDL-46 from the quality perspective is as good as it gets. Crystal clear HI DEF and the non-HI DEF shows an amazing improvement also. Obviously, I cannot comment on the reliability at this point but the Sony it replaced was 25 years old and fault free. A word of caution in choosing your service provider. Make sure that they do not interfere with the functionality of your television. Specifically, your PIP capabilities. My new cable provider has helped me around this problem (thanks to the multiple inputs of the TV) but it is still not to the perfection it should be. I could not be happier with Amazon, the set arrived as scheduled, undamaged with the "White Glove" handler very helpful and courteous. By the way, the price I paid was cheaper than the manufacturer and all the big-name electronics stores.

I picked up this Tv to do just one thing. Make my games look good.
My review is more for gamers then a home theater buff. And I will take this space to just drop some hints for those of you who plan on playing games.

You can set how a picture looks by HDMI port. exp...

-PC is plugged in HDMI 1 and I set it to Vivid in Game Mode and set the sound to my head set. On top of that I use an Nvidia 9800 GT and my games say they are at 75 FPS but I really cant tell. I do see everything from 10 Feet away though and the picture is unreal!

-Xbox 360 HDMI 3 - Set this to Standard and set sound to the TV speakers (And the speakers aren’t bad at all!) Im not much of an audio file but the better sound is really quite nice. Very clear picture with no ghosting at all.

-Comcast DVR box- Looks just fine on SD and better then that when its HD. I still use the comcast remote over the sony remote because I cant find the Page up Page down on the sony one. Truthfully

By biggest concern with any LCD is motion blur. I watch a lot of sports and action movies and there's nothing worse than waiting for the picture to catch up. I spent weeks researching and viewing TV's at several locations and in the end the Sony XBR6 was a clear winner. The picture is amazing. I bought a Pioneer Kuro 5010 last year and have been trying to find an LCD that could live up to that picture quality, I found it! You won't be disappointed with the XBR6. The sound isn't bad either, although you can't beat a surround system.

I've had this tv for about a mo. now and I'm still blown away. The clarity and color on this tv is simply amazing. If you want a great tv, I would buy this tv, especialty with the way prices are dropping on tv's. I would also suggest, if you're going to invest in this type of tv, that you have it calibrated. I definitely noticed a big difference,ie, better picture quality and color saturation, than before I had it done. I promise, you will not regret purchasing this beautiful tv.

Worth its price. picture hi def is a cut above, when compared to others you can see a difference not just subtle but a more clear quality. The demos in the store show it and when in the home it is a defined clarity that only your eyes will appreciate for the discriminating tv viewer. Only problem with the picture is that you can see the flaws in the complexions of many of the celebrities and the flaws in some tv news people's lack of dress color coordination and quality of clothes. Other than that, the picture is as close as actually being there. A great quality investment in entertainment.

Sony xbr6, 46 inch version: very fine picture, but troublesome remote. The "Jump" function does not always work. The TV displays the message Now Tuning but the channels do not switch. This was a problem I also had with the Sony Z-series TV this summer and that is why I traded for the XBR6. A Sony repair man was sent to "professionally evaluate" the TV. He replaced the main circuit board and remote sensor. This did not solve the problem. He then told me that he cannot repair the unit by replacing any more parts. He called Sony directly from my home and told them the same. I was promised some contact from Sony. It has not happened. After several more calls to Sony, I got promises of return calls which did not come. Now I have a defective unit that according to the repair tech cannot be fixed and Sony is not responding to my concerns.

I'm not sure what "The City" has against Sony, but the XBR6 is much better than a Samsung. I bought the Samsung A650 and the reflective screen and sound were awful. Recently returned it for the Sony XBR6 and it is superior in every category. I would strongly recommend the XBR6 - it is the best out there (at least for now).

This LCD has excellent PQ. The black levels are incredible. The blacks are comparible to the samsungs and the pio kuro plasmas. The blacks have improved greatly because of the Advance Contrast Enhancer and the new processor that is in this TV. The color spectrum is wider, using a wide gamit lighting system. The contrast ratio is 50,000 to 1 dynamic. Trust me when I say you'll be impressed with the black level. No Motion blur, artifacts/ ghosting images. Don't believe other sony bashers like the one that has posted a review for it. I have personally auditioned this set, and no other LCD's compare to it. Make it an early christmas and buy it now!!!!!!!!!!!!

Save your money and buy a Samsung 650, 750, or 850. Each one is less than the Xbr6 and still have a better picture. I returned mine and got a samsung. They are the true leader in LCD.

As the title states, this set is simply amazing. This set is replacing my 32" KDL-32S3000, which was also a fantastic TV, just a little too small for my new residence.

Anyway, the color is gorgeous, and the picture quality is astounding. The sound is alright, as is to be expected from small in-cabinet speakers. Sony's PS3-esq menu system is a nice touch. The TV actually uses the second revision of it, so it makes a little more sense on this one than it did on the older models.

Feature set is great as well. Sony has a lot of nice little touches on this unit really help it stand out. The logo glows, for example, but you can shut it off. In the off setting, it still lights up when the TV is powered on or off, but it gently fades out after a few seconds. Sony Bravia 46" Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV KDL-46XBR6

Just got my very own last week. The picture is excellent, sound is good (though I use my surround sound), sleek look and perfect color! Can't say enough about the picture quality. I've seen comparative models at the store and they're inferior in color quality. I have Wii, PS3, DVD, hooked up to it and they all look very crisp and clear, especially the PS3 (blu-ray)!

I bought the XBR 4 and I am using it everyday. It is really different from other TV. It work well with my PS3. I compare it with my friends because they have different brand. I was able to prove that sony is the best TV. It is really a good investment.
