Crysis Warhead: Windows
I figured that with all the people pissing and moaning about the EA security software, someone would actually like to hear about the game itself.

It's short, but it's still a really fun game. The game is the "special mission" Psycho is given in Crysis right after you blow the carrier as Nomad and right before the Tank level.

The story is pretty good, a little weaker then the first but doesn't have as many holes in it. You'll just have to play it to find out what I mean. There are new toys to play with:
Weapons: FGL40 grenade launcher which has two firing modes; impact detonation and remote detonation, AY69 MMG hand gun which can replace your pistol but it rides up like the SMG so it's difficult to use and the PAX (I don't remember what it stands for), a very nice gun that's a slow reload but unlimited ammo and boy does have a kick to it. It can take out the little mini drones with one shot.
Vehicles: ASV armored vehicle and a hovercraft.
Grenades: the FGL40 has an EMP and a

I already had a chance too play with this game over a friend's house and I can not understand why such an enjoyable game has been infected with DRM.
What is wrong with E.A?

For some reason I thought the DRM was going to be part of games like Spore of Sims2 ( the expansions types) but now that I see that even this game is part of the new scheme, I feel really sorry for the future of this company.

Never again E.A Not even the $5 games for my Ipod.

Yet another game overly burdened by DRM software which hampers the legitimate end users computer. When will companies realize that DRM is easily broken by those who prefer to steal games and only hurts us legal purchasers. EA is only about 8 years behind the music industry which has recently found that un-DRMed music sells better than DRMed. Maybe I'll revisit this game in 8 years to see if it is still as crippling.

I always pay for games. The only crack I ever use is a No CD crack, because I hate switching disks. I will never buy another EA game though (and I've spent hundreds on them over the years) unless they stop treating honest consumers like criminals. The draconian DRM they inflict upon us does NOTHING to stop actual piracy, but is an onerous burden to those who DO pay.

Yes, that's right. If you pirate the game (which is apparently widely available on BitTorrent sites) your copy is far superior to what we honest folks actually pay for. The stolen version has no DRM. What you buy is loaded with the worst of it.

But what really bothers me is the attitude. EA has basically stated that they really don't care about what the customers want, and that only 0.2% actually complain about the DRM. Wow. As you can see on Amazon alone, that 0.2% really adds up.

Wake up EA. You are doing everything wrong. You are literally punishing honest consumers and rewarding pirates, all the while insulting

For the game, I enjoyed the maps for the most part. Expect more of the same - which is what I wanted. New weapons/vehicles/enemies were not very interesting, but I didn't really care. In game cutscenes ranged from okay to horrible.
I had fun time playing through, but I don't consider Warhead much better than the top single player maps you can find on crymod.com.

Though SecuRom is basically unseen and hidden from the customer, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist on this product. It is part of the package that is this game. Its presence overwhelms any positive review one might have for the game and its fun factor. SecuRom trumps the fun. The game isn't worth purchasing because it has SecuRom DRM. It is as simple as that.

All as expected from a game continuation. That's OK because it's as good as Crysis, but honestly the shortest add-on I've ever played. Fun, but over in about 2 hours. Wait until it lowers in price for it to be worth buying.

Games that use SecuROM v7 are anti-consumer. SecuROM limits the number of times you can install the product and essentially takes away your rights to use the product you paid for. Limited activations are crap. I will not buy any games with limited activations. If this is the way PC gaming is going, then I really dont care if PC gaming dies.

Recently I purchased two coies of Spore and regret it due to the DRM. In this case I waited for this game to be in stock to know if it has DRM crap on it. Yes, it has DRM (SecuROM root kit).

So, this is a game I'll never purchase due to the DRM. Electronic Arts doesn't got the message we sent on Spore, they are playing hard on their customers and will loose a bunch of them. Particularly I'm banning from my life anything with DRM and since EA doesn't listen to the customers, then I'll not buy anything from them until any DRM is removed from their games. End of story.

The game itself is amazing, just as all the reviewers say. And I am able to play through at stock enthusiast settings (no mods or tweaking) at 1680x1050 DX9 on a C2D E6550 2.33ghz, 8800GT 512MB (AMP OC), 3GB RAM and on Windows Vista, and achieve around 25fps which in the land of Crysis is playable, turn it down to 1440x900 for a smoother game in windowed mode.

However...for anyone experiencing crashes in the game, the display driver stopped responding etc. I think I've figured out what the cause of the problem was.
I checked everything! My PSU (which is a modular powercooler 520W), my Fan speeds, my Overclocked settings, and also v-sync settings and triple buffering but in the end none of the above were the cause. In fact the last two actually made it a whole lot better (less/no visible vertical tearing!)

The DRM issue I'm sure all of you have heard of by now, but I was sort of sceptical at first and thought sure I only really plan on using one PC to play it on for the foreseeable

I just logged on to buy this game and saw all the DRM stuff. I just wanted to help bring the rating down. I can't wait for them to realease a DRM free version, I'll go pick it up ASAP.

EA will have to learn the hard way that treating honest customers like pirates only encourages piracy and discourages everyone from buying their games. Like Spore, Crysis employs a highly invasive DRM program. I refuse to spend my hard-earned money on any product made by EA, as long as EA chooses to use DRM. I just purchased a game from a manufacturer that put no DRM on its game, and treats its customers with respect (Stardock Games). I am always happy to purchase games that don't use idiotic DRM.

Crysis Warhead

A spectacular game that improves on the original in nearly every way. I love the tighter gameplay and levels, and the multiplayer is more addictive with its Team Deathmatch.

I understand that many people are boycotting the game, but the continuation of the Crysis franchise depends on the reception of Warhead. If you have to, please make an exception for Crysis Warhead, as Crytek is already being hit hard enough by piracy as it is. If this title flops, Crytek might completely drop PC exclusives that push tech to its limits and offer such amazing graphics as Crysis and Warhead do. Please, if there's one game that you will buy, regardless of DRM, let it be Crysis Warhead.

Alright everyone stop crying about DRM its really not that big of a deal. The solution is to just buy the game off steam, now you can install to as many computer as you like! Also I dont understand why pirates are saying that DRM justifies their means to steal cryteks hard work...
Also they can remove this stuff in a patch, everyone calm down its an awesome game.
