So it's AMAZING; replaced my old amp nothing much walmart brand amp, This one kicks it straight in it's cheap teeth! Easy installation, easy to tweak, pretty blue light, powerful and no capacitor needed. Get this one with the btp just in case (it's 4 years people!) so really it's good buy it and see for yourselves.

I could of had a V-8! for a few more dollars, I would have happily upgraded to a 1000 watt V series monoblock. I have two factory designed JL subwoofers in factory box. Anyone knowing when it comes to JL, enough said! You might not expect the deliverance of power from such a small amp, to deliver ample power to drive them. I listen to esoteric, and sine type music that has insane bass durations, and intensity, thus not having the amp do a thermal shutdown is excellent. I would advise against prolong execursion for lengthly periods of time while the engine is off (does not need a capicitor) as it is best to feed continous power from alternator and battery. Lights do NOT dim when hard bass notes hit! I would suggest that one consider buying the 1000 watt amp to drive two subs rated at 600 rms or better. I bought my alpine headunit, amplifier, and accessories all from best buy, and they have treated me very well with thier CRM.

There is really not a huge amount you can write about this amp besides the fact that its sound quality is excellent. I am running it at 2ohm into a 12" Alpine Type-R subwoofer which was also purchased from Best Buy and it matches this sub perfectly. I mounted the amp under a seat and it is slim enough to not give me any issues. After running it for over an hour at high volumes/gain it didnt produce much heat which is a true plus.

I used the Rockford Fosgate 4 gauge single amp wiring kit also available through best buy and it came with an under-hood 100amp fuse, perfect for this system. I ended up having one third of the wire left over so I'll end up using it to put together an underhood voltage stabilizing wiring kit.

The wiring for the amp is intelligent and Alpine has engineered it so that whomever may wire the system will have to intelligently run the wires according to industry standard. The wiring has different connections on either side of the amp so when running

I installed the Alpine 500W Class D Mono MOSFET Amplifier with Adjustable Crossover as my fourth component. It replaces my Sony Xplod 600W (max) amplifier as the watt supplier for my Alpine SWR 1242D subwoofer. The Sony was sounding pretty good, but it got way too hot with the 2-ohm impedance wired to it.

Installation was not quite a cinch, since I decided I would use the speaker-level inputs to connect it to my factory head unit. The alternative was to use my existing low-level line converter, but I had never used speaker-level inputs, so I thought it best to spend the time getting to know the connection.

After soldering peel-off leads from my rear deck-mounted Alpine SPS-600 Type S 2-way speakers, I plugged in the speaker-level connector. The rest of the connections; power, ground, and speaker out, are just like any other amp. No surprises, there.

There is one design characteristic I dislike, very much, on this amp, which inspires me to write a bunch of extra

My old amp was giving me problems, so I went to Best Buy to get some advice on which amp to get for a pair of 10' Kicker comps. This is the amp the rep recomended and now my whole car shakes when the bass hits :)
It provides the perfect amount of power for my subs and I haven't had any issues yet. Easy to set up and the controls are simple to adjust, plus the amp is small so it is easy to conseal if you want a clean look to your setup.
