First, I've always prided myself on finding happiness within myself regardless of my external world and circumstances. But dang this gadget. makes me so happy.
I was born without that part of the brain that knows where to turn, or how to "right" myself after having to detour due to traffic, etc.
Okay, NUVI-specific stuff: Let's stay focused:
1. I love the way that you can make your Nuvi truly *yours*.
Two examples: Your favorite locations stored for 1-Touch launch from anywhere (almost one-touch), your own music and photos that you can keep on it.
2.The different ways to view the map. Very slick, Garmin.
3. Various navigation settings, such as Avoid highways, ferries, etc.
4. The option to add stuff to that memory slot on the side. Like traffic report conditions, or languages.. forgot what else
5. The perfect slim build.
This thing just works. It's truly a life-changer. I like it better than my car, sorry.
Here are general ways in which a GPS system, as a whole, makes your driving

I looked forward to receiving the Garmin Nuvi 350. When we were out-of-town, it was quite helpful. If there is a traffic detour, the Garmin can navigate side streets so we arrive where we need to be.
I am comfortable with manuals, and strongly dislike that the Garmin doesn't come with a manual with step by step instructions. For example, my husband chose the option "avoid heavy traffic" - doesn't everyone want to avoid traffic? We didn't realize that this meant the route would exclude ALL highways and tollways. Because there is no manual, we needed to learn how to use the Garmin by trial and error.
The Garmin has saved the day more than once, so I would still purchase it.

I did a lot of research on many different brands and models of portable navigation units around $300 and easily came to the decision to get this one. Although I splurged and spent more than I planned, it was well worth it; it had great reviews all over. I desperately needed a portable GPS unit since I moved to a new place and have never had a sense of direction. The screen is big enough to view and read easily (I really don't understand how any screen smaller than this size is suitable for mounting on the windshield), the visuals and audios are crisp and clear, and it's incredibly easy to use. In fact, my unit only came w/ a 7-page Quick Reference Guide (I'm not sure if a detailed instruction booklet doesn't exist or was just missing from my box; either way I don't need it). The Q.R.Guide has some basic instructions, but the unit is so easy to work with and everything is so self-explanatory on it that the Q.R.Guide is all you need to glance at before you starting use. I only wish I would've
