Don't buy this camera unless you are a complete techie or want a bad headache!! The software DOES NOT WORK. I have a camera full of videos and no way to download them. Would have given it 0 stars if that was an option.

The reason I returned the others was volume pick up was poor and they did not have flip out viewers. But Creatives brand re-chargeable battery that goes into your usb slot was great and I wish this cam had it. Hate changing batteries though I use rechargeables which last about 5-7 minutes! What I LOVE about this cam is not only small and easy to use, it will take great vids/still photos in the lowest light u can imagine. Unfortunately color saturation is poor but thats the flaw of cheap camcorders. I also miss a timer on the photo setting. When by yourself you have to hold the cam to take a still and you can't set it up and move away. Also, forget the software that comes with it. It is crap!!! I found it impossible to use. Just download into your PC and use Windows built in saver and movie maker for editing. Much much easier. Love the camera -- compact, easy to use, takes great shots. HOWEVER, beware Amazon's offer to buy an SD mini-card with this camera. It doesn't use a mini-card; it uses a regular SD card. I didn't read the fine print and got stuck with a useless $20 mini-card. Now what? Sell it on eBay? Still, the camera is great. We're having good fun with it. Sturdy little devil, too -- it's already been dropped a couple of times to no ill effect.

I have used this camera for a few different type of events - camping, vbs, and school to name a few. The quality if awful. I think this is one of the easiest cameras I've used to record with but that is because of the limited options. If you set the camera on a tripod and don't move it at all, the quality is almost acceptable. Any motion of the camera or object that you are shooting is ridiculously blurred. I have a bit larger sony from 6 years ago that would kill this camera even today. The technology of cameras has come a long way and yet this camera honestly takes about as good of quality pictures as my sons $10 Incredible Hulk camera.

This camera takes awesome short movies. However, it is nearly impossible to figure out how to upload and send as an attachment to an email. It freezes up and I have to use alt delete to get out of the program. Then the movie is moved to My videos in windows. My friend has a Flip and hers is one touch simplicity and you can add music to your movie. Would definetly not recommend this camera.

I agree with most of the pros and cons already covered by other reviews. Top of mind for me are good for the price and compact but not the best quality especially on audio pick up and lighting. Could be a decent value - however the big ding for me that I haven't seen mentioned is RCA's customer service. We paid $74.71 for the camera including shipping then unfortunately dropped it the very first day. The cost for repair ($74 flat fee for this model) plus shipping was going to cost 20% more that what I paid for a new one????
They should just say there is no warranty whatsoever. Why would anyone in their right mind have it repaired with terms like that?
My other bit of advice is two fold. Be very carefully with the camera because any knock could be fatal and do not purchase as a substitute for a youngish child as it will be broken pronto. I hesitated to purchase a grown up camera for my daughter but every camcorder made for kids had horrible reviews and many recommended spending

This is a good camera for introducing people to the video process and very easy to put clips on-line for MAC or IBM. The hardest part is putting batteries in-had to read the directions to find them, this is very compact. Reasonably priced. Image quality is clear. I did a lot of research and for the money, I'll keep buying this brand. Do keep extra batteries handy or invest in rechargeables; uses double As. Highly recommended.

The review is primarily regarding the poor service I have received from both Shasta Media and Amazon.com...My RCA EZ250 arrived in its original packing but there is a crack in the side of the viewfinder. I immediately let Shasta Media know about this and simply requested a replacement as the item was a perfect size and certainly capable of performing my portable needs. I was instantly given the run around. After nine emails, (in which I became justly upset and irate) I decided to let Amazon.com know what was taking place. First they assured me that I would be refunded in 3 to 5 days...no later than seven days. I continued to follow up only to discover I had been lied to. The A-Z so- called guarantee requires I make a trip to the post office, pay again for postage and certify or insure the package at my cost for an error that was not mine to begin with. I am disturbed that this antiquated resolution is their poor excuse for customer service...I have decided to just keep the pocket

This is a great little fun cam. Very easy to use and the screen is bigger than the Flip or some other small ones out there. I'm going to use it to keep in my pocket. The carry handle is kind of useless and small. It does protect the USB compartment which is nice. Other than that the pictures are good but fuzzy in low light. Not too much of a problem for a fun item. If I do a family get-to-gether or wedding, etc., I'd use my bigger camera. Just have fun.

I bought this camera about a month ago and have been taking videos with it at local New Orleans parades, events, concerts etc, and it rocks! Its a little chunkier than the competition but when you can replace batteries and memory on the go and take the shots you need it really shines. The video quality is fine, its not HD but instead looks like 1990s era home movies. I have dropped this thing multiple times and its not even scratched (knock on wood) and I love it. Someone told me when they saw it "wow you have a huge phone!" but for the most part all my friends think its awesome, especially the part about being able to swap in memory and fresh batteries. I travel outside the country alot and having a camera that requires hooking up to a computer all the time like the flip and others just doesn't work for me. If you get off the beaten path your going to want to take more pictures of cool and wild things, not less. It also has a solid feel, its got some substance to it but still discreet

If you are looking for a convenient pocket camera which takes nice video and has space to store the results, this is the one. It is well built and very easy to use. The price is unbelieveabe for the features and ability of this camera. I have used it for about a month shooting video and still pic's and I have only changed out batteries once and thats after shooting a baby shower that lasted 2hrs. For the money you can not go wrong, if you are looking for high end quality look for a larger unit with a bigger price tag.

I ordered this camera Monday, and it was waiting in my mailbox today, Wednesday.The hardest part of setup was getting the camera and accessories out if the packaging.
For the most part, installing batteries and initial use was self-explanatory.
My 4 1/2 year old daughter LOVED making a movie of her pet cat.
It was pretty easy for me to save video to my computer, and upload to the web, although the included software kept locking up on me.
I could, however, go straight to facebook, or my blog, or youtube and upload video easily.
I love this little gadget, especially the price.

I bought this for my son for Christmas. He is 11 and loves to video himself while doing a "walk-through" on a video game. He kept borrowing my recorder so I thought to buy him this one. It works great and he loves it. He has uploaded 2 videos to Youtube and plans to do more. We have noticed the quality of the Web Quality is very grainy. The High Quality is much better. I also purchased the Kingston microSDHC Class 4 High Capacity Micro Secure Digital Card with 2 Adapters (SDC4/4GB-2ADP)for 8.99 through Amazon. I will need to buy more soon. It is very easy to use and the embedded software really helps. This won't give you GREAT video but it will give you very good videos for a GREAT value. I HIGHLY recommend this.

It's always a bit unnerving buying something sight unseen that has less than a 5 stars review. No problems with this unit though.First, identify what it is. Or rather, what it isn't. If you just got that grant for the PBS documentary, or your kid got accepted to Film School and you are looking for the congrats gift you should look elsewhere.
But if you are looking for an inexpensive, extremely easy to use unit for vids you'd normally miss, THIS is the piece.
I bought two, sight and trying unseen. One for my in laws and one for my wife. BOTH of them say they love it. (Do you know how hard it is to please that group?!?)
Personally, I prefer more photography oriented stuff. I shoot Leica, Nikon, Hassy for stills. But this camera IS great and I like using it. Three or four buttons to shoot and record and playback, period. No scores of user screen menus to wade and get lost through. It fits in ones hand really well. And it is a great size. Big enough that you don't feel like it will break

This little digital camcorder is giving Flip some competition, finally! My primary complaint about the Flip is that it has internal memory only, so if you want more recording time you have to upgrade your Flip to the newest model or download the video to your computer and erase the recordings on the Flip. With this camera, you can just upgrade to an 8 GB micro SD card (if the 2 GB included card is not enough for you). The RCA Small Wonder Traveler has solved a lot of problems for our family. First, both of our Flips have broken over the past year and a half, so that put me in the market for a replacement. I stumbled upon this, and was decided to give it a try.
There are several reasons why this is superior to the Flip. First, it comes with a 2 GB micro SD card that will record one hour of "high quality" or four hours of web quality. We have been using the high quality mode which does a great job adjusting for the various lighting conditions whether or not we are indoors or out.

Comes with software to run on your computer and works good. Can also use the videos easy with Windows movie maker if you have Windows XP. You must have XP or higher to upload the videos on your computer. Mac or Linux don't know. Good picture, sound and price. Don't expect to make your Steven Spielburg movie on it.

I bought this camera to take video of a new puppy. PROS:
- Small. Not any bigger than a pack of cards.
- Cheap. I don't worry too much about damaging it.
- Takes two AA batteries. Easy to change. No battery pack, etc.
- Memory can be upgraded and cards are cheap now.
- Audio sensitivity is OK
- Auto power off after a few minutes.
- No moving parts; no worries about maintenance or things getting knocked out of alignment.
- Easily concealed for candid shots. In a pinch, and at the internet quality setting (longer recording time), it could probably even be used for el cheapo surveillance.
CONS:
- Limited zoom. Only 2x.
- Image looses focus and is fuzzy at extreme zoom. Better to move closer to whatever you're shooting rather than use the zoom, which is pretty much worthless anyway.
- Batteries don't last long, but they're cheap.
- I wish I could turn off the audio alert the camera makes when powering up; it has wrecked a few candid shots I wanted to get of my German Shep pup,

My wife and I bought this for my son's 12th birthday and he loves it. The quality of the video is quite good with a large amount of storage that can be upgraded, but for his needs 30min of video is fine. The screen is good quality, and the price for this was much cheaper than similar products especially considering it comes with a USB cable, carrying case, and batteries.HERE'S AN UPDATE, THIS STARTED TO MALFUNCTION 2 WEEKS INTO USING IT. IT WAS NOT DROPPED OR HANDLED ROUGHLY, IT JUST STOPPED WORKING. IT WOULD FREEZE UP FOR NO REASON WHILE LOOKING AT VIDEO OR PICS AND THE ONLY WAY TO "THAW" IT WAS REMOVING THE BATTERIES. THAT'S TOO BAD BECAUSE IT TOOK GREAT VIDEO.

Great camera, it does work on a mac just fine (just drag and drop like a removable hard drive), no problems at all and i'm not expecting any. the video and pic quality is great, even when its on the web quality mode. Love the flip out screen its a very cute and convenient cam.

We bought this camera because we have a new baby and wanted to make little movies...however, given that we have limited time to edit the movies, etc we knew we didn't need to invest in anything expensive with more features. Its like a point and shoot camera - we make little movies, and send them off to the grandparents! I'm amazed at the quality. The only drawback is that you can't use it on a Mac.

the camera looks nice, has a full size seperate SD card and a large viewing screen, and uses AA batteries..all these are pros.the cons are, the video is very inferior compared to the flip (we bought both the rca ez210, ez205 AND FLIP ULTRA). the ez210 has slightly better video than it's smaller version the ez205...but still is fairly blurry, unable to see deatails the flip has no problem with. e.g. i video-ed a phone book ad and the flip was easily read but both rca's you could not read the printing...colors on the rca are washed out compared to the flip, and the rca does not nearly as well in low light and gets washed out in brighter colors, especially if there is any difference in gradients...my wife's face was washed out when the light from the outside window was on her, not so with the flip.

The RCA Small Wonder is not as great as I thought it was going to be.I was excited when I read the reviews, but I should have looked around the www a bit more to see how it works with Mac before placing my order.
The reason why I opted for this cam instead of the Flip was because of the removable card...turns out its a major pain to take the card out, not just a pop-out-the-side one like I thought it would be...my fault for not doing more research though.
Actually, it works ok with Mac, you simply plug it in and you can easily get the files and drag them onto the desktop. You can even open up the video in any number of programs that play AVI files, but I don't seem to get any audio in any app besides VLC...I open the RCA video files in Quicktime Pro, Final Cut Pro, whatever, there's no audio, this means I can't edit! Pretty much why I bought this!
If I could edit the video files, it would get 5 stars... can anyone help?

When I first received the RCA EZ210,could not get it to work properly and thought I would have to return it.However,my nephew came for a visit,he is very good with electronics and fixed the problem for me.Now I have so much fun with my 'baby'camcorder. I was searching for a compact camcorder that used standard batteries instead of the usual rechargeable packs and discovered the RCA and the Flip Video which both use AA batteries. I found a demo Flip unit and thought the picture quality looked surprisingly good, but I really had to repeatedly mash the button to start or stop recording. Too tough for the family to use. So I ordered the RCA and an 8-Gig Micro-SD (memory) card which is unbelievably tiny; about the size of your pinky fingernail. With it I could record more than 4 hours in high quality mode or 16 hours in web quality mode. Amazing and very inexpensive! It powers-up instantly and the record button is easy to push. It also shoots still photos easily. It's simple transferring the files to a computer with it's built-in USB connector. The video files are AVI, so being a Mac family we have to convert them to use with iMovie or iDVD, but that's not a big deal using Quicktime Pro. RCA EZ201 Small Wonder 60 Minute Point-and-Shoot Camcorder (White) This product did not work well. There were lines and shadows in the picture. When I tried to put the jack into the product to videotape, the screen went black. I returned the product, after following the directions on the website for return, and obtaining the appropriate papers and return label. Amazon gave me $0.00 credit. They falsified my reason for return. When I emailed Amazon to try to find out why they did not give me my money back, they did not respond. This is the worst product, and if Amazon does not contact me, I am going to have to notify my credit card company to contest the charge. While I enjoy ordering from Amazon, this is the last time I am going to purchase any kind of appliance or electrical product from them. They do not stand behind their product, and do not notify the customer, other than to say they are keeping the return and not refunding or crediting the account. They also do not respond

Here are the reasons I bought this digital camcorder over others.1. It has a flip to front display that will allow you to see yourself while you are recording.
2. Excellent resolution. The 640 by 480 video recordings are near DVD resolution (which is 720 by 480).
3. Still pictures. This camera also takes 1280 by 960 still pictures. I don't know why they don't stress this in the sales information. This was a real deal maker for me.
4. AA batteries. Some digital camcorders have to be plugged into a USB port to recharge. I'd rather just put in another set of common batteries and go on recording. Though I do use rechargeable batteries in mine. They work fine.
5. The video is stored on a mini SD card. Want more recording time? Just swap in another card. Plus you can put the card in a reader and copy it to your computer directly, skipping the USB connection entirely.
6. This camera comes with a nice carrying case and all the cables you will need for the same price other's charge

I just received this camcorder, and i have used it so much since i received it. I have other expensive cameras, but this is so unique. It takes great videos and stills and has so much recording ability. Easy to use., no guesswork. At my job people are amazed how good the pictures come out and the videos. I would recommend this for anyone on the go and wanting the ability to use something so easy.

I just bought my small wonder recently, for a trip my family was taking to florida. I absolutely loved using this... It has a huge display, which makes it really easy to see what I recorded, and also comes with 2GB SD Card inside. I literally recorded for my whole trip without having to delete anything... It also uses regular batteries which I prefer, because I would'nt have had a chance to charge while on the beach... The pictures are good, and I am glad i picked a camcorder with this ability...also the ability to upload directly to Youtube was a nice feature, it was a one button process with the software....
I did need to update the software, but it wasnt a big deal, and found it quickly on [...].

I owned one of the early Flips and loved it but was drawn to the bigger display on the RCA EZ 210. I have had no problems with camcorder itself but will not buy another one because of the software. After installing the software you will be told that there is an update available and would you like to download it. I have tried on two computers running XP and still cannot get it to work. When I click update, I immediately get a message that the update failed. The software installed on the EZ210 is for an earlier model, not the 210. All you can do is transfer the videos to your computer. You can NOT use the share feature of the software which allows you to email and upload videos. Sort of defeats the whole purpose of installing the software. I emailed the mysmallwonder which takes you to Audiovox to download a new version of software but did not receive a reply. When you put in your model number it says invalid product. I have not been able to find an updated version of software anywhere
