i bought this item for my husband to use on an upcoming vacation. he wanted to be able to record off the radio. this serves his purpose perfectly. the item is so small and portable, easy to navigate, comes with different chargers, has a memory card slot to expand, and more. the menu is super easy to use. for the value, this item is better than an ipod, and doesn't have to be updated every other minute. he hasn't used it a lot yet to know how long the battery lasts.

I bought this for my Mom's 50 birthday because of the excellent reviews on this site. She absolutely loves it and thanks me for it often. I love everything about it! She uses it when she goes to the gym and she says she has to restrain herself from singing aloud. It has been really easy for her to use which is great since she's never held an ipod or mp3 player in her life. It took her a few days to get used to and now she listens to it all the time. It's easy for her to charge up by just plugging it into her computer. It's so great too because when she wants more songs, you can get a quick upgrade with an large SD card. I would highly recommend this product to anyone. I would buy this over an Ipod any day and my husband and I are probably going to buy one for ourselves. I also purchased the clear case so that if she drops it, it doesn't get scratched. What a GREAT deal!

I purchased this player as a result of a good experience with a previous model. Unfortunately this model has a sound dampening system built in so people won't play it to loud. It renders the player useless unless you are listening in a quiet room. Using system settings to increase the volume level from normal to max actually makes the problem worse. The battery also does not fully charge, but that problem is secondary to the volume issue.

This is the best mp3 player I've ever owned, or used. The expansion slot is great. I bought the 4 gig model and then a 4 gig micro sd card, so I basically have a 8 gig model. I've had no problems with this after over 2 months of almost constant use. I don't use it for videos or pictures, so I'm not sure about that. Be sure to update the player. Sansa puts out some awesome updates (folder view, ogg vorbis support, and more).

This is my first MP3 player and I am now in MP3 heaven! I love listening to FM radio music, National Public Radio news, and an excellent selection of audiobooks from the library. I have been "checking out" (from home) audiobooks from two local libraries (who both contact with OverDrive Media for this service). If you want a "quick listen" to audiobooks, you can set the speed to "Fast" (1.4 times usual speed). Tips: (1) When you buy your new Sanza Fuze, remember to go "online" to review the User Manual, which is very clearly written. (2) If you purchase a "cover" for your MP3 player, you can attach a ribbon or lanyard to the cover so you can wear the player and be "hands-free" (without worrying about dropping it). (3) If you let the battery go down very low before re-charging it, you will continue to have a very long battery life in between charges. (Once you start re-charging too frequently, the Lithium battery's "digital memory" somehow gets confused. We made this mistake with our laptop

After several years of owning cheap battery powered mp3 players that routinely froze and died, I finally upgraded! I did a lot of research and decided on this model after reading Amazon reviews. It's sleek, easy to load music onto, simple to use, and appears pretty durable. I wish there was a cover for the additional memory port and the opening where the charger goes b/c I can see this getting dirt& dust in it. I'm not super crazy about "wheeling" up or down for volume BUT I will say it is extremely easy to use once you get the hang of it. A negative for me is that there's no place to attach a lanyard so unless you buy other accessories, you're going to be holding this in your hand and that's not effective for workouts, which is what I bought this for. BUT I knew this going in so purchased an accesory pack that came with the travel charger, cover, arm band and belt clip - and they work great in partnership with the SanDisk Sansa Fuse 4GB player. Positives: simplicity of use, size,

Nice mp3 player for the money. Much better deal than an ipod. Nice features, although on/off switch is hard to get to if you are using a skin. Highly recommend the silicone skin and screen protector. Haven't tried the video yet.

cheap; light and easy; I love the FM feature when i dont' have time to download. I like to just run and go. I am on the computer all day so when it comes to updating tech. at home I'm the worst. The FM feature solves all of those problems. It is easy to use; you don't have to read another manual; just pi9ck it up and go and it was cheap.

I have never been a fan of people with ear pods hanging off their head but I have been assigned in Afghanistan for 7 months now and needed something to help me have down time and sometimes to tune out my co-workers. This device is simple to use and I love the fact I can lock it so that it does not turn off or otherwise accept changes when something presses up against it. I have aready maxed out the drive with songs I bought from Amazon MP3 downloads and have more hours of music than I ever thought possible.

After reading the reviews of others about this product I decided to take my chances, and it was totally worth it ! As said before, I have dropped this thing tons of times on hard concrete and it works just fine. My friend dropped her MP3 on hard linoleum and now it won't turn on at all. lol (Different brand of course) It's pretty easy to use. I've had it for about a month and my battery is still working, plus I listen to it all day and I find that a full battery charge is more than enough to get me through the day. The sound is really good. If you turn the sound all the way up 1. You will be bursting your ear drums, but 2. You can sit your MP3 down and listen to it with no headphones on. The only complaints I have about this is it says its 4.0 Gigabytes, but it technically start at 3.6 Gigabytes, that's a bit annoying to me. And realistically you can only get about 500 songs on here. Only one time did it freeze up on me. But if you hold down the off button for 20 seconds it resets itself.

I have owned the silver 8GB version of this player for almost 6 months. The real clincher for me was the fact that it supported two of the most popular open formats (FLAC and OGG) and you have a choice of connection modes, MTP, MSC or Autodetect, so it is quite Linux friendly as well. With a good number of equalizer presets as well as the ability to customize presets for it, you can't ask for much more as the sound is generally great even if you leave the equalizer at it's default settings. For Windows users, the video function should be great, but if you are a Linux user like myself, formatting video for the device is possible but also quite difficult without the use of Sandisk's own conversion software (which only runs under Windows, and will not function correctly in Wine on Linux). But the list of features (voice recording, FM radio, equalizer, photo viewer, audiobook support and file browser) more than make up for it, as the screen is so small I only use it for audio anyway. My son

I have had this product for several weeks, and I really like it. It was easy to sync, has excellent sound quality, and just seems to be really well-made. The only problem I had was that a couple of times it froze up on me. This was very frustrating, and I was about ready to send it back, but then I went to the sansa web-site to the help section, and followed directions there. I simply had to download some "firmware" onto the player, and I've never had the problem since. Apparently, (according to my techno-geek husband) there is a slight glitch in the software (at least on my player). If that's all it took to fix it, I'm happy, and can honestly give it 5 stars. I think that this is a great mp3 player, especially for the price.

It's hard to argue with any MP3 player with the same capacity of some iPod Nanos that runs about $100 less. Runs video just fine and the media converter program is pretty simple to operate. The addition of an FM radio is a nice touch. Adding capacity with a MicroSD card is pretty simple, and gives you an 8GB player for much less in the grand total than what other 8GB players would run. Battery life is very good. Even running 20 minute TV episodes doesn't seem to take much power. Audio seems a little softer than my old Zune when hooked up to an MP3 jack in the car, but not so much that it's a problem. If there has to be a gripe, putting the audio/headphone jack on the bottom of the player seems strange.

This player is awesome! I've forever been loyal to this brand, and I just love their new mp3. It stores more than enough music to suit my needs; that's why I got rid of my other Sansa, because it was only 2gb and that wasn't enough. But this mp3 is very stylish; they got rid of the previous, ridged click wheel and replaced it with a more updated version. This could almost be an ipod except it's much less breakable and you don't have to deal with itunes.

My husband bought the Sansa View 4 GB MP3 player for me a few years ago. I was excited to get it, and I still love it! It's been perfect for me - great sound, great picture quality, it's never had any problems, and it's easy to use. The thing that cinched it for me, in determining what I wanted, was the fact that the Sansa has limitless expandability. When I ran out of internal memory, all I needed was an inexpensive microSD/SDHC card and I was good to go! I can also dedicate certain cards for certain things. For example, I do a lot of meditation and visual imagery - so I have a dedicated micro SD card for much of that. When we looked at the MP3 players we realized we could buy a 4 GB Sansa View for around $55, and buy add'l microSD/SDHC cards as we needed them - which isn't often. The Sansa has excellent video and sound quality, quality workmanship, and limitless expandibility. For around $75 you can buy an 8 GB Sansa, and have 2 GB more internal memory, with the same expandibility

Pro: Price, capacity, ability to add memory and song loading function Con: some menu and song navigation not intuitive (small matter) and xould use a greater array of equalizer or sound type settings This MP3 player works well, has good fideltiy and loads files fast. I especially like that it is compatible with the Microsoft audio software so I can transfer songs from my favorite CDs for personal use without much hassle. The capacity of 4 GB gives more than enough music to listen to. A good multifeature unit at a good price.

This is my second SanDisk Sansa that I've owned and before this, I owned the Sansa e250. I did give it a 1 star review at the time because I was pissed at the issues I was having with bugs but overall, it was a great MP3 player. After the e250, I got an 4th gen iPod Nano and I HATED it. So I sold it and bought another Sansa and I'm very glad I did. This is a solidly built, smoothly running piece of technology. It has a nice rubberized back plate and a new and improved rubbery scroll wheel that feels very well made and operated very smoothly with no noise. Unlike iPods, this scroll wheel actually moves and when used. You get a very subtle bumpy resistance that lets you know you are scrolling and the bumps stop you from scrolling over the song you want buy moving in increments. There is now a stand alone power button and dedicated menu button whereas the e250 had both functions in one button. It uses the same cord as the other Sansas so you can keep your accessories. It still comes with the

Very functional (especially with the latest firmware install). Sounds great, easy to load, intuitive interface. Of course the headphones that come with it are crap - but that's the norm when buying MP3 players. Most users have their own set they prefer anyway. 4GB of memory isn't a whole lot these days, so nice that you can add a microSD to expand that memory. I also like the fact that there is an FM radio option (wish there were AM too for sports broadcasts, but not that big of a deal). In a nutshell, for a lot less than the trendy, supposed "high-end" MP3's you get the exact same thing. A functional player that will hold and play all of your video/MP3's. Why pay more? Highly recommended.

This is a very good unit compared to the last 3 I have had from Creative and Element. The jog wheel is really easy to use after a few uses. Battery life is very good and the interface is intuitive enough to use the device without having to R.T.M. I have had the Sansa for about six months now and it has endured near constant use and travel with aplomb. Buy the hard case & accessories I have reviewed for the device on Amazon and you will be fat and happy if you decide to purchase one.

I purchased the 4 GB Fuze, it has all the features I need and more. It wants you to use Rhapsody ($15 per month). Don't bother loading it, use MediaMonkey instead. Free, robust, and stable on XP Media Center. MediaMonkey will manage your podcasts, ripped CD's, photos, and videos in one convenient FREE place.

Back to the Fuze: Seems to be sturdy, sound is great, relatively easy to navigate. FM radio and sound recording functions are nifty. I bought this as a gift primarily for listening to comedy podcasts, but now I want one for me......

i gotta say after owning the mini and the 2nd gen Nano, i am quite frankly blown away by this lil sleek thing. The menus r simple and the sound is very good. I tried the video, but it was a bit too small for me. for Seventy two bucks, skip the new nano and get 2 of these puppies for the same moolah. i would recommend it to anybody. go 4 it.

I went through 3. Yep, and all three went on to have the "ticking/skipping" sound when I turned up the volume. It wasn't the earphones. It wasn't the format of the songs: it comes with sample songs on which I tested the volume. Then I look this little flaw up in google and one forum says that Sandisk is "working on it." Nice, well while they work on it this player is heading back to the store. Buy this with a warranty, just in case.

Let's see. What's right with this?
* No need for special software - can drag and drop files from explorer OR windows media player.
* Great sound quality
* Tiny fit-in-shirt-pocket size
* Great screen
* Simple user interface
* Expansion slot so I can have books on one sd card and music on another

What would make it MORE perfect?

* If the spinning of the thumb wheel was virtual instead of mechanical, I worry about it breaking
* If it allowed me to do Fast Forward and Reverse in audio books rather than just starting over at the track beginning. :-(
* If I could bookmark INSIDE a track so that I could come back to an audio book at the point I left off.

But for what this costs, I can't complain - 5 stars

The Sandisk Sansa Fuze is a quality MP3 player. I've had the 4GB model for about a month. I've got about 1500 songs on it, with about half a gig of space left. I only use it for music -- I don't have any need or desire to see pictures or movies on a less than 2 inch screen. Paired with a pair of Audioengine 5 speakers Audioengine 5 - PC multimedia speakers for iPod - 45 Watt (total) - 2-way - black, it now serves as my primary stereo system. The sound is as good as or better than any component stereo system I've had. It plays for hours -- I think the claim of 24 hour battery life is probably reasonable, although I haven't let it run the battery all the way down before recharging. You can get a wall charger for it for next to nothing -- I got this one:SANDISK SANSA Premium Black Travel Wall A/C Charger for SanDisk Sansa c100 / c200 / e200 Series (although the Fuze is not listed, it does use the same input connection). This charger works great, and it's never taken more than a few

This is my third 4 GB Sansa (Not quite ready to go into iPod land yet!!). I gave my first one to my son and then bought another. The previous generation was a good entry level for me since I usually would use it when I am traveling by air or train for long trips. I don't use it every day, so I did not need 80 or 120 GB of music. So my comparison is only based on Sansa models.

The previous model c260 was a great mp3 player. The visuals were excellent, accessing the menu was easy and moving between songs was a breeze. Eventually, after calling tech support when I first got it, I was able to sync with ease, as well. However after a while, the second c260 began to freeze when I would try to get certain songs. Eventually, it would freeze and not turn on. There was no predictabilty to this, so often times when I needed it, it was just "not there for me".:-(

The Sansa Fuze has taken it to the next level, but not yet to the top. I had no problems syncing it with my computer, the same

This is everything I ever wanted from an MP3 player plus more. By plus I mean 3 extra (BIG) features that the FUZE has and the Nano doesn't. That would be 1: microSD expansion slot ( I have an 8gb SDHC in mine, a total of 12gb ) 2: an FM Tuner and 3: The ability to record FM radio, That means recording a favorite song from the radio and going back and listening whenever you want YES!!!! . Another thing I like about the FUZE is that it's fully compatible with my Playstation 3 (the Nano isn't) . I pop in a CD and then import it into my Playstation 3 in MP3 format, then copy to my FUZE . The control wheel is easy to use as it actually turns and clicks so you won't over travel like on the Nano's very touch sensitive wheel. One feature that surprised me was the Podcast feature. I thought that feature was just for iPOD's. If there's one thing I don't like it would have to be the ON/OFF switch NOT button. It's a little hard to turn on and off with no nails. Overall, Im VERY satisfied with this

This is a great player! I picked it up at Circuit city for fiteen dollars less then they wanted to sell it to me, so already I had a good feeling about it. I couldn't help but tear open the packing in the car at a red light, just to look at it. It has a thin, sleek design, with an easy to use thumb-wheel.

I brought it home and right away signed into Rhapsody, the music service I use. It is quick to download and has plenty of space for all the music I use, plus photos and videos.

Plusses:

Lots of space.

Can play music, videos, and eBooks, with room for photos.

Has lots of setting so you can personalize it.

Cool design.

Small.

Downsides:

No big downsides.

Overall, a great player. I would reccomend it to anybody, children or adults. Who needs an iPod when you have this?

I had a Sansa e250 that broke after much use so I bought a Fuze because of Sandisk's usability. I like the fact that you can toggle the Play/Pause right from the main menu. The jog dial is steady and the buttons are very responsive. It uses my 2gb microSD card perfectly and I can easily drag and drop my music onto it.

I recommend this player to anyone who wants quality sound at a good price while not being worried about fitting their whole music library on the device.

I purchased this item to replace a previous MP3 player that died. I primarily use it for listening to podcasts. The one feature that I love in this player is the ability to resume a podcast from where you last paused. What they dont tell you, is you can do this with a number of podcasts. Sometimes I have a few podcasts that are only partially completed and want to listen to something else. Its great, I just leave that one and come back later and pick up right where I left off.

This little device is a high quality and very easy to use 'MP3' player. Of course it does more than just play music. From a usability perspective, I think it rivals the iPod interface and provides more feedback. While I really love the device, there are some things that I wish were a little better.

Pros
----
- Very nice screen and just big enough that if you were stuck on a plane, watching a movie still is an enjoyable experience.
- Simple and very intuitive interface. I love the fact that the iPod-like wheel actually rotates.
- Expansion via MicroSD cards is a great feature. I was able to swap the MicroSD card between my BlackBerry and the Fuze and be able to share images, and music.
- The FM Radio and ability to record from it is one of the coolest features. There's something about the randomness about radio that I still really like. And the ability to record a song that I don't already have can save you some money.
- I haven't used the external mic yet, but I think that's a neat

1. Charges with PS3 USB and cable provided 2. PS3 recognizes it beautifully and you can add/edit mp3s through the PS3 3. FM tuner works great and you can record the FM broadcasts 4. GET THE 4GB OR 8GB!!! Overall great player for PS3 owners as I have all my cds loaded on my 250GB hard drive and can swap out songs with ease. Even with the option of an 8GB microSD card available (might be grabbing one of these soon), I still wish I would have bought the 4GB instead of the 2GB...

This player has really just become available. I ordered thru an Amazon seller, before it became available. Shipping was a little higher. But I wanted it right away. This thing is a perfect size, but beware..little if any accessories exist for it at the moment. I am sure this will change. A skin would be nice to protect the front face..which is very attractive to scratching. The thumb wheel works great, and I have big thumbs. All the menus are easily accessible and it syncs with Windows Media
Player 11 quickly and easily. I have mostly older CD's that I wanted to rip to file and then sync. Most all of the cover art was available with WMP11 and it rolled seamlessly into the Fuze. Several view modes while playing , one with the EQ, one with the cover art enlarged, one with time of song and time left etc;. Screen is big enough to suit my needs and it plays very well through the aux jack in my car. Battery seems to last longer than some. I would say the only drawback is that this battery is
