Excellent value - does exactly what I need

I have a large quantity of vhs tapes that needed to be transferred to DVD. I had seen varying reports on all the current crop of DVD/VCR combos and was hesitant about getting one. When I saw the Philips deck available via Overstock at a very good price, I went ahead not having a really high expectation. This deck has done everything I needed it to do. I am amazed and happy with this product. The remote interface is a little confusing and slow at times, but I have adapted to it and am working around whatever shortcomings there are. It is a well performing deck and has been ideal for what I need - transferring several hundred VHS tapes to DVD. Picture quality is excellent, as is sound which I am very happy about with original tapes over 20 years old. I have always had good luck with Philips products and this one keeps that promise.

Recorder

The manuel does not discrib in detail how to place titles on multible movies on a DVD.
The VCR became defective after 1 wk.
The quality of recording was excellent and was very simple to hook up to my systom.
