If you're looking for a second guitar to play with Rock Band or Guitar Hero 3, this one is two for the price of one. Its actually more durable than the guitar that came with Rock Band and it switches easily between the two games. The only downside is that it doesn't have the lower buttons like the Rock Band guitar, but since I never used them anyway that wasn't a big deal. The other nice thing is that you don't have to get used to the differences in sensitivity between the original Rock Band and Guitar Hero 3 guitars - and if you're playing on expert mode, or even hard mode, that can make a big difference. Highly recommended.

Overall this is a good guitar as a replacement to the strat, especially if you want the bi-directional, D-pad type strummer. Some issues:
1) Synching the Nyko guitar takes a bit of work the first time around. I had to constantly unplug and plug in the dongle and remove the betteries from the guitar to finally get them to synch. I did follow the instructions with little success.
2) The guitar does randomly lock up and no longer send any signals. The only way to reset the controller is to remove the batteries. I keep my PS3 controller handy to help pause if this happens in the middle of a song.
3) The frets take a bit to get used to. They are move recessed in, and smaller, making for faster sliding between, but sometimes you simply lose where you are, as the divot on the yellow fret is very small.
4) The balance is weird and the guitar tends to hand neck down rather than body down.
Overall though, my game play has improved and I would take this over the strat.

After seeing that many guitars are coming out this month I have chosen to get this one over the TAC. the TAC does look nice but i frankly am impatient.
The Nyko Frontman for the PS3 works perfect with Rock band and guitar hero. The guitar actually clicks when strumming! I can now do expert songs I couldn't before due to the flimsy rock band guitar.
As compared to the PS3 Guitar Hero 3 guitar the frontman is sub par feeling flimsy in the neck but the body feels strong.
