never owned or seen a digital picture frame up close, so I put a lot of stock in the reviews I read. Although this Sony DPF-V900 cost more, the reviewers rated it quite good and I liked the greater storage capacity and the HDMI connection it had. This was going to be a gift for my 90 year old mother and I wanted it to suit her needs. I loaded it with many digitaly scanned slides my father had taken of our family over the years, some as old as 50 years. When I hooked a HDMI cable to the picture frame and to the HDMI input on the LCD TV, it was an instant hit. We all enjoyed the ease of seeing those wonderful old slide photos on that big LCD TV screen. It was a shame that those old slides never were seen because it was just too much of a hassle to view them the old way with a projector and screen setup. Another added useful benefit is the digital callendar which Mom loves a lot too. Our family gives this product a thumbs up.

It works beautifully and is easy to use. It's strengths are the well thought out software and the wonderful picture. An elegant design--I use a 8 GB card which has hundreds of pictures.

I was very impressed with this frame's style, picture quality and features. The selling point, however, was the fact that it comes equipped with an HDMI output that can connect to an HDTV for high definition viewing of digital photos. After making the necessary connections from the frame to the TV, the picture appeared jittery on my Sony Wega HDTV. What's that line again? Sony HDNA? Surely, this must be a manufacturing defect, so I returned the frame in exchange for another, only to experience the same problem with the replacement. Having contacted Sony support, tested the connection with TWO HDMI cables, and hooking up my MacBook Pro to the HDMI input on my Sony Wega, I know the problem is not with the cable or the TV. Be advised, you may not get what you're hoping to get by connecting this frame to your HDTV. If you're only going to use it as a photo frame, it's a wonderful product. Also, it's fairly disconcerting to know that NO site reviews out there made any mention of this defect

This is a very attractive product. Great picture, easy to understand and to use. However, the first one we received had many minor features that were malfunctioning -- of most interest to us was the automatic image orientation. We sent it back for a new one which did not have any of the other faults, but the image orientation still was non-fustional, so with regret, we gave up on it.
Instead we bought an Audiovox DVD player which does all the Sony Picture Frame does, and plays movies (and costs less). In addition the Audiovox has a 2 hour battery for portability, which is a major deficit on the Sony.

I purchased the photo frame for the sleek look as well as the many viewing options. We love the ability to turn the photo frame into a analog clock for nightime use. The photo frame is a great way to show off pictures that are normally stuck in a photo album I love it.

I looked at several brands of digital photo frames. Every time I came back to the Sony because it stands out for picture quality, sharpness, features (lots of features), ease of operation. Even if immediately you don't think you would use all of the features, pay the money and get it anyway. You'll be surprised how all of a sudden one or more of those features is a neat thing to have. The internal memory is large, slideshow, individual view, and picture selection from any source is so simple you can start using most of the features right out of the box. Even the owners manual is extremely user friendly. Yes the price was a bit much but put the Sony next to the others on the market and there is no comparison for picture quality. One downside: you have to use a power cord. I found a couple of portable power sources but power plug on the Sony is not the typical power recepticle found on most products. Thanks Sony....how about making a portable source available? I would love to place
