We Love Golf: Nintendo Wii
I just bought this game cause i'm pretty much a sucker for any golf game and my god is it awful. The swing mechanics are horrible, the animation is horrible, and the courses are incredibly boring. The animated Wii Controller that sort of caddies you through your swing is incredibly annoying. Only 3 courses, 4 players, I didn't even bother trying to play it online. The golf game that comes with Wii Sports is MUCH more intuitive and creative... and makes much better use of the controller.

I haven't played Tiger Woods yet for the Wii, mainly because I can't stand the Xbox versions of the game and the fact you can't save a game in the middle of a round so you can return and finish it whenever you want. I also haven't played Super Swing Golf yet because I'm completely addicted to the PC version of that game, Albatross18 (http://www.albatross18.com).

If you are looking for a cartoony golf game with crazy fantasy courses and over top special shots, look no further than Albatross 18.

Don't waste your money if you are looking for a game that is as much fun as the golf game that came with Wii, or if you like Tiger Wood 08.
As the previous reviewer states, this game does not take advantage of the fluid motion of the Wii controller. When I contacted tech support about my dissatisfaction, they told me that this game is an 'arcade' game and does not operate like the original Wii golf. Why did they bother.
Might be good for 5 and 6 year olds, but not for anyone looking for a game with the feel of golfing.

We Love Golf: Nintendo Wii
In the early years of computer golf the standard "3-Click" style of golf was created to address the limitations of the technology of the time. However, with so many advances in video game technology including the motion sensor Wii-motes that are an integral part of the Wii system, the developer of this game decided to cling to the old school 3-click world. Basically, the swing mechanics of this game work as follows:

1. Press the A button to start your shot (the normal click 1)
2. You pull back and hold the remote to set the power of the shot as indicated on the screen and not based on how far you physically pull the remote back (normally click 2)
3. When the swing meter reaches the optimum impact zone you swing forward trying to time it with the onscreen clubhead (normally click 3)

In my opinion, the much better mechanic would have been to throw the meter away and rely purely on how far you pull the club back for distance and how fast you swing for power. (like real golf)

So We Love
