I purchased a Gateway FX580, a similar high-powered gaming system to this and had problems from day one. I had purchased the extended warranty with at-home service. First they replaced the 500 Gb harddrive, but the problems continued. So then they replaced the motherboard, and the problems continue. So I had to send it in for "repair" at my own expense. I had vacation coming up and they told me that it would take 3-5 business days for repair, so I sent it overnight. It got there on Thursday, but they didn't start work on it until the following Monday. Then they tell me it will be 7-10 business days for repair (thanks for lying to me to begin with). I ask that they not ship it back to me until after the July 4th holiday, explaining that I will not be home. What do they do, they send it so it arrives while I'm away. The shipping company tries several times, but I'm not home. When I get back, I find they obviously don't know how to follow a simple direction, and now I have to go to the shipper

Do NOT buy a Gateway computer. They are toxically bad. AVOID!!! I needed to recover my computer and could not find the recovery CD. They charged me $20 for a new one. Then I found out that if you buy a Gateway anywhere but the Gateway site they make you call a 408 long distance number, instead of the toll free number, for support. Talk about screwed up! And to top it off, if your computer is out of waranty, they won't even tell you how to boot it off a cd, nothing. They won't talk to you unless you pay them. From now on I will go nowhere near Gateway.
