Apple MacBook Pro MC975LL/A 15.4-Inch Laptop with Retina Display (NEWEST VERSION)
Pros: Is up and running in about 9 sec.
This mac book pro is amazing. I will never go back to a PC. Apple products are the way to go. If you want a product that consistently works, go with Apple.

Apple MacBook Pro MC975LL/A 15.4-Inch Laptop with Retina Display (NEWEST VERSION)
Pros: Speed, Sound, screen size, lightweight.
Cons: No backspace button
This is my first experience with a MAC/Apple product. I was nervous about switching to an unknown operating system but once I got it out and started working with it I was very impressed. It has many features I still have yet to learn but the ones I have figured out make working/playing so much easier. The computer is very lightweight which makes moving from place to place easier, the magnetic power cord is also an added bonus. The pre-installed software is very easy to use and if you need help the Apple techs are just a phone call away.

Apple MacBook Pro MC975LL/A 15.4-Inch Laptop with Retina Display (NEWEST VERSION)
Pros: Beautiful display, light-weight, easy to use, excellent price for the quality.
Cons: nothing - everything is great!
I've been a Mac user for at least 30 years, and am never disappointed with each new computer update. This MacBook Pro with Retina Display is wonderfully light and professional while continuing Mac's intelligent, logical, user-friendly aspect. I love it and use it for my professional, ecological, environmental science work in my consulting business and research. Great addition and update for my office computer network.

Apple MacBook Pro MC975LL/A 15.4-Inch Laptop with Retina Display (NEWEST VERSION)
Pros: Fantastic screen, thin and light case, fast CPU and GPU, very fast SSD, HDMI+Thunderbolt output, good battery life
Cons: Very expensive
It's a great laptop from Apple, possibly with the best mobile screen up to now. The CPU and GPU are great too and can handle everything. The SSD is one of the fastest mobile SSDs, and 256GB is a good amount of space.

Pros: Aesthetics
Cons: Price
I love the look and feel of this MacBook. The retinal display in incredible. It is obvious the user experience is what Apple had in mind when creating this product.

Apple MacBook Pro MC975LL/A 15.4-Inch Laptop with Retina Display (NEWEST VERSION)
Pros: Its performance and Display
Cons: The price
This is a wonderful piece of machinery. I am a video (VFX) editor and I use a lot of power hungry programs such as After Effects, Final Cut, and Cinema 4D. This computer handles these programs like they are nothing. I had the 2010 MacBook Pro before this one and this one does not even compare to the prior according to render times. What would have taken 2 hours to render now takes 5 minutes. I know that's mostly due to the graphics card which can be put into any laptop. So why buy a mac when there are equally matched PC's? Because they really aren't equally matched PC's. Sure the hardware might be the same but the OS is specifically designed for that one computer. Unlike Windows, OSX takes full advantage of every component's potential. Windows is a generically designed OS so it can run on almost anything, however because of this it cannot take the full advantage of the computer.
I also like the portability of the computer. Its a powerhouse-to-go. That way while I am at school or on-set, I can take my powerhouse with me.
Ohnestly, the price is pretty high. I do think it is worth a lot more than a matched PC though. Mac does not create anything bottom-of-the-line.

Apple MacBook Pro MC975LL/A 15.4-Inch Laptop with Retina Display (NEWEST VERSION)
Pros: User friendly, very fast, great perfomance.
Cons: Things can always be less expensive...but you get what you pay for.
I use my MacBook Pro for everything from iPhoto to Excel to CAD and graphic design programs and it doesn't so much as hick-up. The start up is very fast and battery life is great. All said and done, I would buy this computer again which I can't say about any other laptop I've owned.

Apple MacBook Pro MC975LL/A 15.4-Inch Laptop with Retina Display (NEWEST VERSION)
Pros: Easy to use and included software
Cons: price
Very easy to use and well integrated with peripherals and between software programs. I am still converting from Windows, but the software is intuitive with help readily available. The display is great, and startup is very fast. Touch pad is very versatile, and keyboard has a nice fell. I would prefer that a number keypad be included on the keyboard.

Apple MacBook Pro MC975LL/A 15.4-Inch Laptop with Retina Display (NEWEST VERSION)
Pros: great speed
I have had 3 other brands of laptops. The Apple is the best by far. I'll never go away from Apple again. I started computing with Apple when the first Apple was available. Then tried other brands and now I am back to Apple!

Apple MacBook Pro MC975LL/A 15.4-Inch Laptop with Retina Display (NEWEST VERSION)
Pros: Amazing display, performance is unprecedented, and light as a feather!
Cons: Unit is completely non user serviceable and upgradable
I've been a Mac user since my Apple IIC back when I was about 5 years old and since then I've been hooked. THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST MACBOOK EVER PRODUCED and has more power and speed then most people will ever use. I had to purchase mine from Apple in June of 2012 since BBY does not sell the 16GB of ram version which I need to operate both Windows 8 and Mac OS simultaneously.
Now after installing both OSs, I noticed that Mac OS boots up nearly instantly thanks to its ultrafast SSD drive. Windows 8 still boots up fast and more amazingly, I run it though the Mac OS without any problems or using bootcamp. The graphics are sharp and crisp thanks to the Retina display. Type on the screen is so fine it looks like print. The unit only weights around 4.5 lbs so its very light to travel with and I do this all the time. However, this is more of a laptop for graphic designer, programmer, or gaming enthusiast. If you are a student or normal computer user, it's kind of an expensive overkill.
My favorite feature of this Macbook is that you can use it as a laptop when you are away and when you go home, you can dock it via thunderbolt cable into the Apple 27" Thunderbolt display and now its a home computer. The Thunderbolt display both charges the unit and docks it with all the ports available on the back of the display and all you need is a wireless keyboard and mouse to make this operation complete.
What's Not So Great: I must warn everyone that this laptop is 100% not user upgradable or serviceable. This means if you want more RAM, bigger SSD space, or a faster processor you must purchase it that way or you are stuck. In addition, nothing is fixable on this computer not even the battery which is attached to the inner aluminum case, so I HIGHLY RECOMMEND a warranty like Best Buys in which they cover everything including the battery.

Apple MacBook Pro MC975LL/A 15.4-Inch Laptop with Retina Display (NEWEST VERSION)
Pros: Speed, power, lightweight design
Cons: A little pricy for an average budget
After becoming a fan of the iPhone and iPad, I had been considering the purchase of a Mac for a couple of years. When I saw the retina display on the new Macbook Pro, the debate was over. The main issue which kept me from making the leap was the price. Since making the purchase, I have been thoroughly, and do not regret it. The learning curve from PC to Mac was not nearly as steep as I thought it would be. Mac makes it easy by transferring all essential files (wirelessly) from one's old PC to the new Mac. The battery life is so good, I sometimes forget that I am on battery. It is by far the quietest operating computer I have ever had. In a quiet room, I cannot hear the fan even when listening for it. Flash memory makes for quick startup and gets you to work very quicly. Finally, the lightweight, slim design make it the first truly portable computer I've ever had.

Apple MacBook Pro MC975LL/A 15.4-Inch Laptop with Retina Display (NEWEST VERSION)
Pros: Easy to setup, larger screen than the 13" model, fast, new features
Cons: Need to add adapter and superdrive
I am as pleased as other reviewers with the MacBook Pro with 8GB memory, 15.4" retina display and flash drive. Just thought I'd add that it is a breeze to use Time Machine to transfer an old system (files, pix, settings, applications) to the new computer (See Migration Asst. in Applications/Utilities folder). You may need to change security settings to add some applications from the old system. You also need to buy a $30 Ethernet Adapter to connect directly to the router and a $70-80 external "superDrive" for CDs/DVDs. I got the 256 GB flash drive because I did not need that much with my last two computers and I can add an external drive if I ever need it (perhaps for less money than laptops with a larger hard drive).

Apple MacBook Pro MC975LL/A 15.4-Inch Laptop with Retina Display (NEWEST VERSION)
Pros: fast set up, flash drive is just great, retina off the hook
Cons: price, but payments make it affordable
had late 2011 macbook pro and it was great. but you just can't believe the difference in the retina. it will knock your socks off. flash drive is very fast. 4.5 lb's smaller all the way around but the same size screen. i used the set up at start to load every thing from my 2011 macbook pro to this one over wi-fi and it didn't miss a beat. you will not believe the color and contrast of the retina on this. it's amazing. if you can get one do it because you will not be sorry you did, i'm not. get a best buy card and do payments, as long as you pay it off on time it's still like paying cash. almost forgot the sound is also really great. you can hear it go from one speaker to the other. super sound.

Apple MacBook Pro MC975LL/A 15.4-Inch Laptop with Retina Display (NEWEST VERSION)
Pros: slim, retina is amazing, crazy fast
Cons: charger is big
This is my first macbook and I must say I will never go back to windows, this is the fastest, best looking laptop I have ever owned. Not only is the retina display unbelievably amazing but its better than my 1080p! This computer is extremely fast and has amazing download speeds! A must own! and best buy's price was the best thing about it! At apple.com it sells for $2,199.00 at best buy I payed $2,079.00. Also this laptop has amazing sound! There is not one complaint I have! Amazing laptop.

Apple MacBook Pro MC975LL/A 15.4-Inch Laptop with Retina Display (NEWEST VERSION)
Pros: Screen resolution, fast and lightweight
Cons: Price, no dvd drive
Great performance, screen and lightweight but will not recommend. I do a lot of editing, big photoshop/graphics files and handles well but for the price you can get a lot more value from the Macbook Pro 15 non retina 4gb memory. On the retina 15 inch you cannot upgrade the memory and you have to get an external drive to save files on DVDs.
