Pros: Amazing display, performance is unprecedented, and light as a feather!
Cons: Unit is completely non user serviceable and upgradable
I've been a Mac user since my Apple IIC back when I was about 5 years old and since then I've been hooked. THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST MACBOOK EVER PRODUCED and has more power and speed then most people will ever use. I had to purchase mine from Apple in June of 2012 since BBY does not sell the 16GB of ram version which I need to operate both Windows 8 and Mac OS simultaneously.
Now after installing both OSs, I noticed that Mac OS boots up nearly instantly thanks to its ultrafast SSD drive. Windows 8 still boots up fast and more amazingly, I run it though the Mac OS without any problems or using bootcamp. The graphics are sharp and crisp thanks to the Retina display. Type on the screen is so fine it looks like print. The unit only weights around 4.5 lbs so its very light to travel with and I do this all the time. However, this is more of a laptop for graphic designer, programmer, or gaming enthusiast. If you are a student or normal computer user, it's kind of an expensive overkill.
My favorite feature of this Macbook is that you can use it as a laptop when you are away and when you go home, you can dock it via thunderbolt cable into the Apple 27" Thunderbolt display and now its a home computer. The Thunderbolt display both charges the unit and docks it with all the ports available on the back of the display and all you need is a wireless keyboard and mouse to make this operation complete.
What's Not So Great: I must warn everyone that this laptop is 100% not user upgradable or serviceable. This means if you want more RAM, bigger SSD space, or a faster processor you must purchase it that way or you are stuck. In addition, nothing is fixable on this computer not even the battery which is attached to the inner aluminum case, so I HIGHLY RECOMMEND a warranty like Best Buys in which they cover everything including the battery.
