Pros: Good Price
Cons: No Optical I/O audio ports
I was looking to upgrade my seriously aging Abit P-IV system and wanted something with some of the more advanced features without spending a fortune. Plus I prefer using certain motherboard manufacturers. This Asus board has worked out very nicely. Running with a Core i3 3.4GHz second gen CPU, 8GB 1600MHz kingston memory, GeForce GT610 PCIe 1GB video card, and a 500GB seagate barracuda 6GB/sec SATA, running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. Not too difficult setting up and getting everything happy. I could never stand having an AMI bios, but this one is easy to use and navigate, even though some of the more advanced settings I have to look up to find out what they're for and how to use them. Fast, cpu stays nice and cool with just the stock fan. Like having the HDMI ports, which makes it easier to integrate into my other HD components. The only drawback so far is I would have preferred having some optical I/O ports.
