I was looking for some ultra portable battery operated speakers for my iPod, and had set my eyes on one by Sony when the store attendant reccommended this. I have to admit, I wasn't too impressed when I saw it (the Sony one was a much sleeker design and was powered solely by power drawn from my iPod) but when I tested it with my iPod, I was blown away by the sound quality, much more distinct and louder than the Sony one.
After sawing vigorously through the rock-hard plastic casing (which loads of manufacturers feel obliged to use these days), I was able to get to the speaker. It is really tiny (sits in the hand of my palm) and sturdy with no soft bits to get damaged when packed in luggage (it sure feels like it could take a few knocks and still be fine). As others mentioned, it is rather tough to open the battery compartment (it is powered by 3 AAA batteries which last for 24 hours) or to switch on and off if you don't know how to. However, the shop attendant showed me how to and it's

I have never written a review about an item before, but this time I felt like I HAD to.When I first received this little speaker, I wasn't too impressed. It looked too small to be able to produce the type of sound output that I was looking for. But that opinion changed as soon as I plugged it in. I first tried it in my MP3 player, and was blown away. I couldn't believe the volume level and clarity that came out of it. Plus the bass response was WAY more punchy than I could have ever expected. Next, I tried it in my computer, and was even more impressed. It doesn't have a volume control on it, but it doesn't need one at all. This little speaker will easily blast the volume from whatever you have plugged into it. It's very small, and lightweight, which makes it easy to carry anywhere you go. But the best thing about it is the sound. It puts out just as much audio quality as speakers that are much larger and more expensive. You really won't believe the bass response that comes out of this

This is a great product. We use it when we chill on our porch. It puts out great sound. We even used it for a party and it did great. The battery life is very good. I still haven't changed the battery. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the top, which is the on off switch, can be a little tough to turn.

I bought this little speaker to use with my iPod while in the car. My friend and I wanted to download a number of music and Book CDs that we could listen to together during a two week driving trip. It worked perfectly! The 3 AAA batteries seem to last forever. It is very easy to use. The quality is good, and more than loud enough. It takes up practically no space in a suitcase or car. I am so glad I checked with Amazon before buying. While not a Bose speaker, it is a great value for the price.

I was skeptical that one single small speaker could sound good, but really wanted a portable speaker for my Zune and it was Altec Lansing which is a brand I trust. Sounds great, still not sure how one little speaker can sound so clear and loud.
