Norcent PF801 8-Inch LCD Digital Photo Frame
I got this as a refurb unit.

The frame is pretty high grade, tilts, solid brushed metal and wooden frame (that frame is probably MDF with faux wood)... The looks match the "Executive" label on the box. Pretty slick.

Comes with a desk foot, wall mount, and the snazzy desk mount pictured. Pretty much can install it as you wish.

The software works well. Simple and clean. I have not noticed any freeze yet.

small design flaws:
The rotating frame allows just the right amount of space to plug in cards or usB cables. They are on the sides instead of top/bottom (buttons are at the top).
Also there is no storage compartment for the remote.

When you pull the digital frame from the frame (very easy), suddenly it's compact, 1/2 the size. It looks more plain -black plastic-, like a car DVD screen unit. Clean but not particularly snazzy.

Photos in cards need to be selected via the menu. Built in memory is shown as slides directly.

I agree with the shortcomings:
Lacks random, and "slow" mode is

It's a nice frame with good picture quality. It even includes a remote. I would not recommend it though, because of the amount of problems I have found.

If you leave the frame cycling, then after a couple hours it will freeze on the first photo. the remote will also not work at this point either. I have also found that the remote will not work if you just let the frame sit for a day or so and then try to use it to turn on the frame. If you just plugged the frame in, then you need to turn it on manually before the remote will work. What I'm trying to say is that the remote will only work intermittently and is pretty much useless.

Other problems I've found is that you need to rotate pictures on the computer I tried it with the frame, but on the next cycle the pictures return to there unrotated position. Also pausing in the middle of a slideshow with music will freeze both music and slideshow. Starting again will only start the pictures cycling and not the music. The other parts of the

you find it at Walmart. This frame I purchased at Walmart for approx. $99.00. If the carton says more, have them scan the bar code! It should correct to the $$99 price. I have not found it anywhere else this low on the net. Please REMEMBER, all my comments are based on the fact that this frame was $99!

First of all ... it has a great looking screen! Very nice, CRISP resolution (800 x 600). The frame does just an OK job (a little soft looking) if you reformat pictures to 800 x 600 with external software. However, if you throw higher camera resolutions at it, the more detailed it looks. I reformat my photos to 1800 x 1200 at 50% compression rate with ACDSee. This means you should be able to get over 300 great looking pictures on it's 128 megabyte internal memory. This is probably a little more then the average person will do, however, if you want really good (did I say CRISP!) and your nerd factor is a little higher, you will LOVE this frame at the $99 price! It is as good as
