This is the older generation unit, very noisy fan. It was sold mixed with the newer generation quieter units to fool customers. Shame on microsoft! You can't make sure to get a new generation unit, don't buy it.

I finally decided to buy an XBOX 360 after almost a year having checked and re-checked reviews and the like.I was really in the middle of getting a Ps3 or the xbox 360 than low and behold a more reasonable price the arcade bundle Xbox 360 came out after a few moments I decided to go ahead and purchase the arcade bundle and have been impressed and astonished at how much the xbox truly has.I have yet to get the 20gb hard drive to go online yet but in a few months I will. The system was easily put together and plugged in ready to play it found the wireless controller just as easily on the first try.I have decided though to buy the microsoft play&charge kit as to save myself a great deal of money on batteries.I would also advise you to get the intercooler just in case you might not need it but better safe than sorry in-case the console overheats. This being all said I'm not dismissing the ps3 altogether and I'll just get this either next year or sooner so what I'm saying to you is both systems

I had an original 360 release from Nov 2005, it worked great. but I have a new TV that only accepts 1080p input through the HDMI; which why why i got this.
I just used my old hard drive, and the graphics are great. The only problem I had was with the surround sound. I use optical, because my reciever doesnt do 1080p pass through. I was just going to use the old Componenet Head Cord for audio, then HDMI for video; but to my surprise, you cant use them both at the same time because the heading is too big and covers the HDMI port. The solution was to buy a seperate peice (xbox 360 hdmi a/v cable, except i didnt use the extra hdmi cable) because it has a smaller head, and can fit both the VGA and HDMI cords at the same time.
Other than that, its quieter, and the graphics are outstanding! I didnt use the arcade games, but I imagine its a good starter xbox for people that dont plan on doing a lot of downloading.
If I had to reccommend for a more serios gamer though, spend the extra 70 bucks

I had no idea Microsoft made so many different versions of the 360; I've counted 5 so far Pro bundle, elite, halo, arcade and standard 20gb. I have to add PS3 was easier to buy only 2 versions 40g and 60g no question which to buy.
I bought the Xbox 360 Arcade bundle, I'll admit because it was cheaper out of the 5 versions, I read so many reviews about this red ring of death they all seem to get. I figure this way if it dies I didn't spend that much.
It did worked great, the games were amazing, love the charge and play wireless controllers ( I bought separate) I like how Xbox has a LOT of 4 player games so I can play with my kids, much Bigger choice then PS3. We have a Wii too and my 5 year old has a really hard time with the controller and moving his arms to keep up, with the Xbox 360 he has no problems at all.
But we did have some hardware problems with the 360; 1st it kept over heating, and won't turn on. We solved the problem by putting a Xbox 360 fan on the back. But only after

Ordered this mid-Decemeber as a replacement for a first gen 360 and got Zephyr chipset (hdmi only). No Falcon (hdmi & smaller/cooler chips). Oh well. No problems so far. Still the best game console this generation. Tons of games. Great graphics. Excellent online play.

Twas two weeks before Christmas and all through the house...forget it, I can't write in prose so here's the scoop.
I bought an XBox 360 from a scammer. By the time I realized I wasn't going to see the XBox 360 or my money, it was painfully close to Christmas and the stores only had the $500 model available.
So I turned to Overstock.com because I had seen it here before (and was kicking myself for not buying it back then).
Overstock saved the day.
The XBox 360 went to my very sophisticated gamer. According to him, it contained more than the core package. He already has games and a cooler.

The service was great as was the Xbox 360. The shipping was very fast. Although the product was new in package, the corners of the box were a little crushed. The Xbox itself was not damaged in any way, but since it was a gift, it should have been packed more securely and shipped in a stronger box to avoid the appearance of being damaged .

I reseached on the internet this for our 15 year old grandson. I found Overstock to have the best price , lower than any other store or website. I know he will be very happy to open it on Christmas morning

Keep this in mind before you purchasethe X-box 360 Arcadebundle. I had to buythe 20 GB hard driveseparetely, which is a must if you want to play the old X-Box games. In order to play the old X-Box games, you have to connect your X-Box 360 to the internet, or wait for a update disc from Microsoft. Thisis just a minor hassle, however. The game disc that is packaged with the arcade bundle is really addictive and fun to play. I would not buy this bundle and instead buy theX-Box 360 bundle with 2 free games and 20 GB hard drive instead.

I bought this system because I wanted to play games. Period. It comes with 5 FULL GAMES , not just demos as some have suggested. In fact, I haven't even purchased a new game yet, as I am still having fun with the free ones. It also has HDMI, which is very important to me since I just got an HDTV. I have also confirmed the new Falcon motherboard, which provides greater stability, is in all Arcade 360s. At this point in time, I do not need a hard drive, but it's nice to know I can upgrade whenever I want. I have had this system for 3 weeks now & I am very impressed. As an avid PS2 user, I can honestly say the XBOX 360 is the way to go. XBOX Live is great. The 360s graphics are the best I have seen, bar none. Don't believe the stupid PS3 fanboys that come on here and leave bias negative reviews for a product they never owned. This system really is incredible, entertaining and fun. The 360 has the biggest & best library of games among next generation consoles. If you want to play

I bought mine on amazon.com for $219 with the Customers Vote lottery system. I would not have bought it otherwise. The 256 memory unit card isn't even large enough to hold free online demos from XBOX Live. No hard drive included, BUT I bought one off of an amazon.com seller for $50 (the 20gig) and purchased a component cable at Target for $20, so the entire purchase was THEN worth the $219.
I have a few favorite original XBOX games I refuse to get rid of but YOU NEED THE HARD DRIVE to play them. And there are also backwards compatibility issues with some games, so go to the official XBOX site for a list of games that do work with the hard drive). I've heard that on November 4th, Microsoft will start selling original XBOX titles for download for about $15 each. Which leads me to believe you'll probably want the 120GB hard drive, and at almost $200 for a XBOX 360 120GB hard drive, well, no way Microsoft, I won't do that. Paying $50 for a like-new 20GB was bad enough. The system comes with

I bought the Xbox 360 Arcade to replace the Xbox 360 Premium I had since launch, the Arcade runs much quieter and smoother, and at $279 with a wireless controller, memory card and 5 arcade games it's a much better deal than a Wii or PS3. Plus it's easy to add on a Hard Drive and it comes with an HDMI port. It's one of the few Xbox 360s with the new 65nm falcon processor and it runs much cooler than the previous 90nm processor.

I have owned a 360 since it came out but it has not worked like it was supposed to since about six month after purchasing it. I was going to buy a new premium so I could get HDMI output but i could not justify spending another 350. This console solved my problems. I got HDMI output, it came with a wireless controller, and i just used my existing harddrive. The console is quieter and 1080p output with the HD-DVD drive is amazing!
