Sony 60 in. Class SXRD Rear Projection HDTV (Full HD - 1080p)
I bought this TV a few weeks ago and am quite happy about it. I was not looking for a TV to hang on the wall and after looking at plasma/LCD, decided this was the best deal going on. My first choice was a LCD but the pricing on anything >52in is prohibitive. Also, as factories ramp up in asia, prices are going keep falling. DLP/SXRD etc. I believe are bottoming out. The final choice was between a Samsung DLP and this SONY and while the Samsung was larger (by an inch!) and slightly lower priced, the SONY had much better features, color and style. The picture is very natural as opposed to the Samsung which looks unnaturally bright.
I have not tinkered too much with the settings (there are a lot of settings to satisfy the geekiest of users), although I had to lower the brightness/contrast settings. SDTV on this is OK, you need atleast 10ft distance. DVDs on an upscaling player are absolutely great! I am sure a bluray would be downright mindblowing! Now that the format war is over, I will be

I totally agree with all the reviews about the picture quality. I use this also as a computer monitor, and I was actually very surprised how sharp and clear it is. Great for watching HD movies from the computer. Had to mess with the settings a lot to get to the desired sharpness. Surprisingly, I had to turn off most of the motion flow and enhancements to make it look sharp. With everything turned on, it is fuzzy and washed out. Turning it all off - looks great. I switched back and forth 100s of times to see the difference, and each strand of hair can be seen now.

I looked at Plasmas and LCD screens and I see no MPEG compression blocks like I did on those screens. I do occasionally from my cable provider, but I believe it is their issue. I watch full res 1080p Movies from my computer, looks perfect and never any visual issues.

Also, was very happy that each connection is its own bus or actual imput. Not limited to Video 1 being Component or HDMI (I upgraded from an old TV and

I did a lot of research before deciding to purchase this TV. I am so glad that I did (both the research and buying the Sony).

First, you have to go out to your local brick-and-mortar stores, and look at all of the TV's with your eye. When you do, you'll see like I did, that the Sony just looks better.

The main competitor that I considered for the Sony, was the DLP "it's the mirrors" brand. When you go look at them though, it is silly how much better the Sony is. Sony Bravia at 120 Hz, get outta here, there is nothing better. The DLP looks like Wizard of Oz colors. All bright and rainbowy and not at all realistic. Do some people actually like that? The Sony color trueness is unmatched.

There are so many features packed into this TV, and all of them are awesome. There is way too much for me to review. OK this TV is ginormous and all my friends are jealous. You need to get one.

I have had 0 problems with my TV. I live in Denver, so I set it to "high altitude mode". Yes it

I waited three years to buy a high-def TV and I'm glad I did. Last year the inferior (compared to the new model) KDS-60A3000 was going for $3000. I just picked one up from Circuit City for $1900. The TV has an incredibly clear picture. With a Sony Blu-Ray player comnnected to it you would swear you are in the scene. The TV syncs (Bravia Theater Sync) with the Blu-Ray beacuse they talk to each other via HDMI. The TV has "24P True Cinema" which matches the frames per second of film and shows an image far better than a movie theater. The 120 hz, Bravia Engine, Motionflow, 2.5 ms Display Response Time, Detail Enhancer, etc. are typically only found on more expensive models. Sports are great to watch because the screen is huge and the processing speed really helps with fast pans. I noticed some artifacts (blurs) during high speed, close up pans from Blu-Ray. I think it's due to the amount of information being sent quickly from the Blu-Ray player. This RARELY happens. My friend has

Sony 60 in. Class SXRD Rear Projection HDTV (Full HD - 1080p)
Let me start off this review by saying Motion Enhancement is the coolest HDTV option EVER! I had researched new HDTVs for several months before settling on this one, and I am glad I did. I've always preferred projection HD, as I can detect the screendoor effect on LCDs, and DLP looks like a rainbow to me. Suffice it to say, this new set replaced my Toshiba projection HDTV from 7 years ago quite nicely. Gone are the days of manually adjusting convergence, and cursing the manufacturer for not making a perfect picture. The options available on this set are quite impressive, as is the trademark Sony XMedia Bar. So let me get to the Motion Enhancement, I'm using an Xbox 360 HD DVD drive to watch hi def content, and after a little experimentation, I discovered that turning the option to full produced a 3D effect on HD movies I'd never seen before at home. The graphics literally leap off the screen, especially if there are CG visual effects. So far the best examples of this I've found

I am blown away by the TV. I have friends with other current rear projection TVs, and this is by far a superior picture... lots of settings for varying viewing content, etc. Love it!

I've had my 60a3000 TV for about a month now. There doesn't seem to be a day that goes by that I don't look forward to getting home (from work) to use my TV. The picture and quality is simply Excellent. I have a scientific atlanta HD-DVR and an XBOX 360 (with HD-DVD). The TV accepts the 1080p from the xbox 360. This was important to me...as only samsung was the TVs that were widely doing this. I don't have an HDMI port on my 360...so, I can honestly say...I don't need it. (which is cool). The TV has 3 HDMI ports...and 2 component inputs (accepting 1080p signals)

As with most (if not all) LCD/projection TVs, if the room is extremely bright - your picture quality will take a hit. Also, the TV stand that I purchased to put this TV on is kind of short. I notice that when I'm walking by the TV, the picture isn't "perfect". This is because I'm looking down at it.

However, I'm pretty pleased with the left and right viewing angles. The only time I noticed any problems when viewing

I find reviews helpful, so will share this. My KDS60A3000 was delivered yesterday.Like so many others who have posted reviews, I researched for months, read reviews, spent many hours in stores looking at displays. I was going to get something between 55 and 60 inches and it was going into a custom built area, not going to be hung on a wall(replacing a Pioneer Elite 510D-a sweet tv that did well for 7 years). The new slimmed down RPTs were perfect. Plasmsa and LCD with a screen of 55" were too wide for my setup. I preferred the plasma pix over the LCD. A 50" plasma would fit and be a great pic, but I wanted a larger screen. That is why I ended up with the KDS60A3000.
After one day:
-pic is stunning, unbelievable. Example, I watch Letterman on the Pioneer HD regularly. Last night on the Sony it was a different experience, as if you were on stage with them. More detail, texture, depth..on his desk I noticed blue trim which I didn't even know was there.
-as many others have said, the picture
