The printer simply is not intuitive. And for as big as Epson as a company, it should be able produce straight video tutorials that support their written documents. I've tried many times to make a simple copy of a document and I haven't been able to do so successfully. The controls are the printer simply are not clear enough for how to get a simple clean copy of a document. I ended up having to scan the document to make a good print. So unless you have lots of patience these type of all-in-one printers, I simply would not waste your money. Many of the other features, like the back-to-back printing are great (though the feature jams if you put 3-hole punched paper) are great, but I'm willing to bet that most users of this printer will become too frustrated to use more than a third of the features on the printer. It's really sad that Epson does not care enough about its customers to produce multimedia documents that help them with their printers.

I've had this printer four months now. Installed without a hitch in Vista. Bought it for it's CD printing capability which is very good. Mainly I use this printer for CD's, DVD's and DVD inserts however it also prints well on plain paper. Put the printer on text plus graphics for everything and haven't found it to be a big ink hog. Fact is I just replaced the yellow cartridge and my light cyan is almost gone. All the other colors are one quarter to one eighth ink left. Not bad for all the printing I've done on the supplied ink catridges. When a catridge runs out a window pops up on your screen telling you how to replace it. Also at anytime I can check ink levels from the computer.
This printer is so much better than the Epson 260 I tried and took back last year. No CD tray loading or jamming problems. Just line up the arrows and print away!! Oh and I didn't buy this printer from Amazon. Instead I got it from Best Buy with an extended warranty which so far has not had to be used. I'm pleased

I bought this printer having had excellent success over the past three years with an Epson CX 6400. It was down to this and the CX9000-some, which can fax, too. I ultimately chose this one because of the auto-duplexer, which I have since put to good use. The rear tray has some ergonomic problems that sometimes cause paper to load at an angle. I had this problem with my last printer, but the tab that is used to hold smaller than Letter-sized 8.5x11 sheets in is extremely cheap and only partially holds the paper in place.
First, the printer is extremely large. Even without the auto-duplexer, it takes up half of my entire desk, and seeing as I live in a tiny room with a small (but otherwise ample) desk, this is an impossible problem to solve. I didn't really realize the printer would be that big-- it's MUCH larger than my CX printer. They do not include a USB cable. I can't tell whether this is good, since I have several lying around and they are therefore preventing waste, or if it's bad,
