great camera - uncertain about the refurbishing

This is a great little camera for the money. I am not sure I would go with anything that has been refurbished again. The quality definitely suffers for it. The features and potential of this camera are great - I need to educate myself more to get everything out of it but so far I love what it is supposed to do.

Awesome camera!

I decided it was time for me to get a new digital since I wasnt very pleased with my Olympus camera. I opted for a Canon since back in my 35mm days I adored my Canon AE1, and I kicked myself for not making my 1st digital a Canon instead of an Olympus.
I did my share of price checking on this camera before deciding to buy it on Overstock since the price was definitely the cheapest here. The reviews here definitely helped seal the deal for me.
I recvd my camera 2 days later and all I have to say is wow!
The pictures are outstanding! I have only had time to play around taking pictures of my dogs using the "auto" setting, and thanks to the 20" of snow we got this weekend I got to use the "snow" setting and the pictures are awesome!
I am so very impressed and it was the best thing I bought for myself on Overstock so far!! I so wish I hadnt have waited to long! :)

A720 vs A570 vs SX100

After exhaustively comparing the reviews, sample photos, features, costs and side by side comparison the A720 came out on top. It feels much more rugged than the A570, it has an 8 MP sensor, and the 6X optical zoom. It just feels solid when your holding it. While I liked the look and feel of the SX100 the sample photos on dpreview and flickr were not impressive and neither were the reviews. As for the flash delay for my camera it was only 2-3 seconds. People who say it takes 10 seconds are exaggerating unless they have really low batteries. The photos I have taken so far are awesome! I have taken numerous indoor and outdoor shots and the clarity / colors are perfect from edge to edge. Having owned 4 previous point and shoot cameras this is by far the best.
