Epson STYLUS PHOTO RX595 AIO-INKJET P/C/S (C11C693201)
I bought the Epson RX595 because it was on an amazing sale and you can't go wrong with an Epson scanner. However, the printer is an entirely different story. After four months the yellow cartridge ran out (Epson ALWAYS goes through yellow like crazy - they must only 1/2 fill the cartridges). I got a new yellow cartridge and put it in and then got a message that it did not recognize the Black cartridge - even though it was still at least half full. Got a new black and put it in and then the other four cartridges suddenly were unrecognizable. Bought a complete color pack and replaced all the cartridges. It worked fine for two months and now they are all suddenly unrecognizable again. They ALL still have ink.
I know this is partly my own fault because every person I have ever known that bought any Epson printer had nothing but problems with the ink. Now I'm a believer. I guess the solution is to go back to HP, even though their scanners aren't nearly as good.

I am another dissatisfied owner of an Epson printer - the all-in-one style is tempting, but not advised. You will be locked into expensive cartridge replacements, non-refillable, and the printer will not print black and white copies if any of the color cartridges are low - you have multiple ones to refill, expect to spend hundreds of dollars on replacements. Better to save your color printing for a dedicated photo printer, and us an HP or other black and white printer with refillable cartridges. Don't be fooled by the low price - the cost is in the ink.

I've been using this for more than three months now and it is working perfectly considering this item traveled overseas to get here.

CD/DVD printing: I have printed on dozens of CDs/DVDs. You have to use EPSON's PrintCD program (shipped with printer) and choose manual print for it to work perfectly.

Inks: yellow, light magenta, and light cyan are the fastest to run out when you often print in color and photos.

Speed: The speed is amazing for the quality it delivers.

Overall this is a great printer that will deliver light or heavy printing demands.

I did a lot of research to find myself a good printer and what I needed out of it and this was one of the highly recommended printers from the various websites I looked at. My suprise was how well it works and how easy it was to work. I found the picture quality to be very good even though sometimes not to fast at printing them. This was my first owned printer for myself so I found it to be user friendly and not all that complicated. My only problem was trying to learn the scanner and its properties but that was just minor. One of my favorite parts was the ease of putting the ink cartridges in place. I have dealt with other peoples printers and found some just to be awful when it came to changing ink. If you can afford it get the epson ultra photo paper to get the best out of your photos. One other problem was it does use up ink faster than I would like so it does seem like buying 6 different ink cartridges might become costly.

Despite my minor compaints I highly recommend this printer

This is my third printer from this line, and the reason I had to buy it says a lot about what you should expect: the other two up and died after two years for one and nine months for the other.

A quick history: Look for my detailed reviews of the Epson Stylus R200 Photo Printer and the Epson Stylus Photo 260 Inkjet Printer to see some basics about this line. I've owned a couple of other Epson printers prior to buying these for DVD printing -- the ONLY reason to buy one.

Like its predecessors, the RX595 gives very good results on photographs, disappointing results on documents, and exceptional results on discs. The scanner works well, but it's nothing spectacular.

Other than the scanner and ability to handle memory cards, this unit is almost identical to the R260. Because an interface was necessary to print photos from memory cards, there is a little window and a couple of buttons not found on the simpler printers. These are welcome, especially the more sophisticated and less annoying

What an amazing printer! I was printing out high quality photos half hour after opening the box. Printed out a bunch of photos and some school projects, and it is still showing high levels of ink. Using the Epson Photo paper makes a huge difference. Tried to print one photo on Kodak paper and the ink wouldn't dry. That might be why some people are complaining about the Epson using so much ink. My only complaint is that the unit is slightly bigger than the Dell All-In-One I was replacing. But it is worth the extra space for the quality it gives.

I just bought this printer brand new after I saw a demo at a store. While it appeared to be a solid printer during the demo, it had one major drawback: the recognition of its own ink cartridge. It keeps giving me an error: "Can't recognize ink cartridge". After reviewing other online comments, I understand Epson devised this new chip to recognize and prevent the use of non-Epson made cartridges. Too bad it won't even recognize the original cartridge that came with the printer! I'm sure this thing has backfired on the company and probably causing losses in the millions for them. This is just stupid for an otherwise great product. I will be taking mine back tomorrow.

We LOVE this printer!! I have not seen an inkjet printer yet that performs like this one. We have had 2 HPs and one Lexmark over the past 5 years, and had just bought a Canon MX700 that we returned within 30 days due to poor print quality and issues with the fax. This Epson printer far exceeded our expectations and blew us away. The photo prints are beautiful and are as good as professional prints, it is truly lightning fast, comes with software that doesn't crash or bog down your computer (pay attention, HP), is easy to install, robust, and intuitive to use. We are actually having a lot of fun with this and learning new things about it every day.

I recommend getting the Epson paper. We tried the Canon 4x6 glossy paper for photos and although it was OK, the Epson paper was noticibly better. We bought glossy and ultra-glossy 4 x 6 paper, and in the printer box they throw in some full size 8 1/2 x 11 sheets of Epson glossy. It may be that it is manufactured to optimize their particular

I got this printer a couple weeks ago, and so far, I love it. Installation was very easy. I bought an all-in-one because I wanted to be able to scan documents into PDF form for easy emailing. But now that I have it, I also use it to scan old color photos that I no longer have the negative for. The scan quality is great. I love that it scans directly onto my photo memory card and I can use that to transfer the PDF or JPG file quickly to another computer. Printing is fast and terrific. The only thing that remains to be seen is how long the ink lasts. With my last Epson printer, the ink dried out very quickly. But so far, I am very satisfied!

I just got my first Epson printer. I was amazed on how easy it was to use. It took a couple of tries but the CD printing is great. You need to get printable CDs or DVDs. You can also import any picture you want from your picture files. It also prints out great photos. I am very happy with this printer.

I love the way this printer prints and copy BUT!, the ink goes out too quickly and it cost alot, even if you get the generic ink it still is costly.....

I have tried to a print a custom cd with my photos and have had no luck with this! after i finally figured out and successfully printed a cd i then discovered the printing software does not allow me to import my own images. i can import the limited clip art provided and that's all. the photo printer is great, the scanner works well as well, but the cd printer feature should not be a factor when purchasing this piece of equipment as it simply does not work.

I love this printer. I am an amateur photographer and this printer prints pictures better than I have ever seen. The hi-def pictures are awesome and can be printed, framed and displayed....Only con is that the printer takes a lot of room and is huge but it's worth the results.

I love this printer. It allows me to scan photos. Then I can take that same photo and make it as a cd cover. By being able to print directly onto cd-printable discs, I no longer lose my precious moments of my children and family. I now exactly what's on the disc using the provided software to create great cd covers. We make dvd covers too. It's the best printer for the price and you can print on cds or dvds that look professional. This photo printer also prints some amazing pictures too with the hidef claria ink. Installation was a breeze. Follow the directions and you can't go wrong.

I would definately recommend this printer to everyone who is looking for high quality photos and the added bonus of printing on cd or dvd that no other manufacturer can provide.

Epson STYLUS PHOTO RX595 AIO-INKJET P/C/S (C11C693201)
I recently bought a new laptop with Vista. When I bought my laptop, I took advantage of a promotion to receive a free Epson printer and bought the CX5000 which was free after the 79.99 rebate.

I gave my husband my old RX500 and used the new CX5000. Mistake. The CX5000 did not print pictures near as nice as my old RX500 and the pictures had a matte finish even when printed on glossy paper. I also noticed that the CX5000 used ink like crazy! I told my husband to bring my old printer home and gave him the CX5000. He only uses it for text copies anyway. However, I could not get my old RX500 to work with Vista and set out to find a new all in one that I would like as much as my old one. I'm very picky and expected this to be a hard task.

Before looking for a new printer, I did find out that the CX series only has 4 cartridges. The RX series has 6 cartridges. I read about this printer on Epson's site and read reviews of a few other Epson printers on Amazon and decided to give the

I've owned this printer for less than 24 hours, so I'm still in the "honeymoon" phase. I'm concerned that I may fall victim to the numerous problems reported by people who purchased the RX680.

My previous printer was an Epson Photo 820. It served me well enough for several years, but annoyed me with it's extremely long startup/shutdown time, frequently clogged nozzles, and noisy operation. I was delighted to see the RX580 was MUCH quieter, much faster in every way, with outstanding print quality.

Features I've looked at, so far--
- setup & installation (Windows XP system): fast & easy
- startup/shutdown: speed=good, noise=quiet
- Usability (software & user controls): very good
- matte/glossy photo printing: speed=good, output=excellent
- color scans: speed=good, result=excellent
- color copies (on 100% recycled copy paper): speed=good, output=good
- print from memory card: speed=good, output=excellent

I haven't had it long enough to see how well it does with consumables (cartridge consumption,
