I bought this for my daughter who is studying abroad. My husband carefully opened the box and took photos with it. Then rewrapped it back in its original packing to surprise her. He enjoyed the camera so much that he wanted one. At 10.1MP, you can't beat the quality. And it was so easy to use the first time that he didn't need to destroy the instruction manual. She wanted a very small camera with great quality and the Casio came through on all accounts.

Bought this camera after wife divorced and took our other one. Excellent price and great picture. Pulled up the pictures on the 42' plasma TV and the pictures are clear as can be. Takes a little while to work through all the functions, but when you learn how to use everything, it is great.

If you want a small camera that you can fit in your pocket or purse and take good quality images without paying a lot this is perfect for you. I had the 6.2 mp version a long time ago and it worked perfectly for 2 years untill the shutter wouldn't open (other people I knew had the same problem). I then swithced to the Sony from the Aerosmith comercial, which I loved for the lense and features and would reccomend if you are looking to pay more. Then it came out of my pocket on a rollercoaster and that was that - so for not wanting to pay a lot for another camera, I knew this would do the deal.

I've had this camera for about a year now and I like it a lot. However, my lens protector broke (doesn't close properly) almost a month after I bought it, which was a bit problematic, but most likely a function of a defective product as opposed to the camera as a whole. I haven't had any other problems with it besides that.

1. Battery life is really good. I'm a college student and I use my camera pretty heavily-- and honestly in the entire year I've had my camera I think I've only charged the battery maybe 6-8 times. Maybe. It lasts for maybe 100 pictures or so; not exaggerating

2. Images. They're also good-- it's a 10.1 megapixel camera, so the colors are very bright and rich, but the images aren't particularly sharp; I think that's a product of the low pricing of a camera with such high megapixels. It's actually really ok, it hides unflattering acne or whatever.

as a casual user, I do highly recommend this camera; and I recommend it over its 7.5 megapixel brother-- my best friend

Love the ease of use, though I wish we were back in the days of real, paper manuals. Great display. Picture quality is excellent. The added pixels make for sharp resolution and vibrant, true colors.

I saw this camera at CES a few years ago when I was shopping around for a higher resolution pocket camera. (My previous cameras Fuji 2600z 2.1mpxl & Fuji E900 9.0mpxl).It makes the perfect camera for everyday use in a compact size with simple easy to use functions. The screen is large enough my parents can actually use it without squinting. Though they do fumble a big because it is tiny to hold. But because it only has 1 large shiny button up top, even your drunken friends can take quality pictures.

This little digcam is quick loading enough for my camera to take pictures that no one thought you would be able to capture(papparatzi-style). I've taken over 76k shots and haven't had any problems with it. Takes great shots in daylight or nighttime w/flash.

The best part about this camera is that a normal person probably won't even need another battery. If you do it will only cost $10-20. If you shop around a 2mb SD cards are $10/ea. On a 2mb card you can take ~594 photos.

The Good: quick

After much research, this camera gives you great value for your money. Images are very good and video quality is great as well. Very fast start up!!! i love it!
however, the Casio SW is not all that good, it is very limited to what you can do unless you buy the upgrade. But there are plenty of picture/video editing freeware out there, so that shouldn't stop buyers.
I droped it once and already got a scratch on the frame, the fram seems very easy to damage... so be careful and make sure you have a camera case.

Definitely recommended. This is my second digital camera. The first was circa 2003 (i.e., the dark ages) so this is a major advancement in all categories. The large, bright screen is a joy to use. It almost eliminates the need for a viewfinder. It is quick to start up and the controls are clear and simple. It's fast and easy to switch back and forth from taking pictures to viewing them. The battery life is outstanding--at least 5 days of active use. My only beef is the non-standard USB port--I wish they'd used the standard mini-B port. However this ain't that big a deal since I generally just pop the SD card out to transfer pics to the computer.
