Stylus C120 Color Inkjet Printer
While the quality of the printing is fine, the cost of supplying the ink for this printer makes it the absolute worst printer I have ever owned. Buying the Epson C120 was a huge and costly mistake. It eats up the color cartridges like there's no tomorrow. Shame on Epson!

Stylus C120 Color Inkjet Printer
I bought this Epson C120 at Christmas 2007 whilst visiting Los Angeles. I had to remove the ink cartridges before flying home to Florida to avoid leakage problems, then continued using it at home in January. The black cartridges ran out at the end of January after I had printed only 80 pages of black only text. I asked Epson what was the capacity of the cartridges, but they refused to divulge that information. (My old HP 825c, which is slower but still working fine, has 20ml cartridges which last me about 6 months between refills. The C120 cartridges by comparison appear to hold only about 2 or 3 ml). Epson told me they rate the cartridges by page yield, and they claimed an average of 375 pages for each black cartridge (i.e. 750 pages for the two cartridges). This is absolute nonsense!

I continued to harangue Epson by e-mail, and they eventually gave up and shipped me two free high capacity black cartridges. Unfortunately, the print heads must have been clogged beyond possibility of cleaning,

First of all, you need to get a laser printer if all your printing is text. It's not cost effective to buy a color. Buy color inkjets only for color. I don't use my inkjet for photo prints. It's cheaper to go to Costco and get photographs anyway. I use my inkjet for my graphic layouts and for proofing. I had a C86 that died after 3 years. I definitely researched my inkjets. This was the only one that still used individual ink tanks- though there are 2 back tanks (why? I have no idea). Multi-tanks (cyan, magenta, and yellow together) are lame because once one color runs out, you need a new one. Sure, cleaning the heads eats up some ink, but not 20% as some reviewer said. This printer is louder than my C86 and isn't super fast like I expected, but it's still fast. This prints as well as my C86 and it's works fine for me and my projects. I've also learned my lesson and buy my printers from Office Depot. They have an excellent replacement plan (no exchanges just replacement gift card for the
