I have been listening to music (and thumbing through Stereo Review" mags) since age 10, and 39 years later I still don't consider myself an audiophile, but I am discriminating. Through that time I've bought countless stereo systems and have learned to appreciate designs when a blend of form and function leads to great sound. Recently, as the albums gather dust, I went searching for a home MP3 player that could fill a room with decent sound. I tried quite a few (Bose (decent), iHome (garbage), Altec Lansing (a bit better than iHome)), etc... but nothing - I mean nothing comes close to George. George not only delivers great sound, but it has the advantage of an an amazingly intuitive interface. I don't need to repeat what you can read in the below reviews. The removable dock is key, and it works great. Bottom line - you can spend less, but you will get less. But when it comes to what George is designed to do you cannot spend more and do any better. I am not an audiophile but definitely own a lot of high-end audio equipment and know bad sound from good sound. I own two other ipod docks Bose and a Logitech one. I have also had the B&W Zeppelin for some time but hated it as it was impractical and the sound wasnt great This system blew me away. 1. Ease of use: The whole remote, alarm and other features really are awesome. Maybe I will buy a few more and spread them around the house 2. Sound quality: Really wide sound stage and solid bass. Clear sound and loud too. rare combination in this category. I still think it could better on mid-ranges but phenomenal nevertheless 3. Aesthetics: really good looks... Wait till you see the packaging. Very reminiscent of apple packaging I would really recommend anyone to get this system... I am going to try out the system with a airport express to play music off my computer also... will add that later

I bought the George because it has far and away the most comprehensive Ipod control in this category. I was pleasantly surprised when the sound turned out to be the best I've heard from a single location system. The bass is deep and rich and the soundstage is extraordinarily crisp and well defined. The remote allows one to place the speaker enclosure across the room -bedroom in my case, and control it from the remote on a nightstand. Remote is really the wrong term. The unit pops off the front and occupies it's own charging stand while your Ipod charges in the speaker unit. It has half a dozen alarm and nap functions, 18 AM/FM presets, and identical functionality to the Ipod itself. That means playlists, sort by artist, song, album, etc - all in the palm of your hand while the music fills the room from 15 feet away. Also audio books and podcasts. I couldn't be more delighted.

I have owned "George" for over 2 years . Yes the sound is great, and the full function remote is amazing. What I would like to mention is the great customer service . I had a few small problems and even though it was way out of warranty, everything was corrected at no cost. It's such a pleasure to have a company stand behind a product like Chestnut Hill.

im going to make this review short, simple and effective.
Pros: Great remote interface, works with ipod touch/iphone, amazing sound and bass, looks amazing.
Cons: Remote is a little big but not that big of a deal, and if you dont buy it your not that smart.
