Netgear Universal Dual Band WiFi Range Extender (WN2500RP)
Pros: System Range
Cons: Minor initial connection issues
Bought the NETGEAR - Universal Wi-Fi Dual-Band Range Extender with 4-Port Ethernet Switch to work with my WDR4500 wireless unit to extend the 2.5 & 5 GHz range in the house for computers and wireless TV connections. Installaiton was easy and after updating the software, I connected a computer and TV to it. I found has done the job and I have good signal/connectivity so far. Pay attention to the initial set up directions and it should work fine.

Netgear Universal Dual Band WiFi Range Extender (WN2500RP)
I got this to increase the range of my router to get internet in my workshop. I found that it was easy to set up and works very nicely. I went from 1 bar and not being able to connect to internet ... to full bars and very fast internet.

Netgear Universal Dual Band WiFi Range Extender (WN2500RP)
Pros: Reasonably priced, extremely easy to connect and use
We needed an extender for our Wi-Fi network to reach back to our bedroom and kitchen. After looking at a number of them, we settled on this one and are very happy with it.

Netgear Universal Dual Band WiFi Range Extender (WN2500RP)
Pros: Worked 5 minutes after I opened it.
Cons: Little expensive.
I use this primarily to stream to and from my TiVo Premier. Never a single issue with bandwidth. Have had 3 iPads going at the same time. My base is also a Netgear dual band N router. It's also wired into a PS3 and the online games work perfectly.

Netgear Universal Dual Band WiFi Range Extender (WN2500RP)
Pros: Easy set up.
We worked with another product a few years ago to extend our signal but it never worked. Were never sure if we were doing something wrong with its software to get it to talk to our wireless router. This extender was very easy to set up. Dual band - works great. I'm a pastor. The main wireless router is in a maintenance room and covers the middle area of the church campus which includes offices and welcome area. The extender enables us the easily cover the worship area. If we have workshops in the worship area this will easily take care of getting the stronger signal to that area. However, not wanting it used that much during worship, the extender's name is not shown - only those who know we have it know what to type in to get the stronger coverage, but when workshops happen we enable the name to show and make the password available.

Netgear Universal Dual Band WiFi Range Extender (WN2500RP)
Pros: VERY easy installation, good price
Cons: Nothing bad about it after 2 weeks!
I needed to increase the Wifi coverage for out internet service in the backroom where I handle paperwork on days when I am not on job sites. I went and picked up the NetGear Range Extender. I held off on getting one as I thought it would be complicated to set up and install. I'm not tech savvy, so I was hesitant in picking this up. I was wrong, VERY wrong. It was so easy to install and set up. It took about 10-minutes from getting it out of the box to having it up and working. Extended coverage now throughout the house.

Netgear Universal Dual Band WiFi Range Extender (WN2500RP)
Pros: Extends signal to farthest corner of the house. Went from 1 bar to 3.
Cons: Heavy loads from multiple devices (Wii, laptop, ipad) require router resets occasionally.
Easy to set up and works as expected. The occasional resets are mostly due to kids playing games that require network access for long periods of time.

Netgear Universal Dual Band WiFi Range Extender (WN2500RP)
Pros: It is probably a great Wifi Extender.
Cons: It is not at all a Wifi Booster or Wifi Repeater
I purchased this device because I need a Wifi Repeater, which I now believe is equivalent to a Wifi Booster. This device, however, is a Wifi Extender. An Extender creates new access points. For example, if my original Wifi Access point is "MyAccessPoint", then the Extender creates "MyAccessPoint_EXT". This forces users to decide which Access Point to connect to. I do not want to impose this restriction on devices which should be able to roam from one end of the property to the other without losing connection. Therefore, I will return this Extender and exchange for a Booster. My relatively low rating is because I found it almost impossible to determine that this device created additional Access Points until after I opened the package. In addition, the WPS setup did not work.

Netgear Universal Dual Band WiFi Range Extender (WN2500RP)
Pros: Easy setup
Easy setup and satisfied with the extended coverage. My router is in the corner of the second floor of my house. I placed the extender in the center of the second floor next to the stairwell. I now have good coverage for the entire first floor including the living room, good enough to stream internet movies to the TV. Size of home is 1820 square feet.

Netgear Universal Dual Band WiFi Range Extender (WN2500RP)
Pros: Easy to set up
Cons: Slow performance. Dropped connectivity
I recently relocated my home office and the signal to my Netgear wifi router was a little weak. I purchased the Netgear extender in the hopes that it would easily integrate with it's sister device. The setup is easy - if you're OK using the wizards - which I did. However, in the 4 months I've owned it, I find myself disconnecting from the repeater and connecting directly to the main router because the repeater will either drop my connection - with full bars or the lag is too much to bear. Additionally, my iOS devices don't operate well when connected to it. As soon as I can find a known working solution, I'm going to replace it. Avoid.

Netgear Universal Dual Band WiFi Range Extender (WN2500RP)
Pros: Once it's configured, you can forget about it. It just works.
Cons: Setup is not really intuitive, but you can struggle through it and figure it out.
The router performs well and solved my problem of poor wireless signal at the far end of my house. Once I got it set up, I just forgot about it and it works well.

Netgear Universal Dual Band WiFi Range Extender (WN2500RP)
Pros: Worked as advertised, and as expected, from Day 1 on
Cons: Can't think of a downside
In a previous attempt using a different product I found installation to be time-consuming and buggy -- and I returned the device, giving up on the idea of extending my wifi range. With a different router, also by Netgear, and this Netgear wifi range extender the outcome has been totally satisfactory.

Netgear Universal Dual Band WiFi Range Extender (WN2500RP)
Pros: nothing
Cons: Installation, operation, customer service
I followed the installation instructions for the product. When I tried to attach to the extender, it would not accept the password I entered. I checked several times so I know it was correct. This must be a common problem because there were instructions in the install guide that said that being too far from my router might cause this to happen. I moved right next to the router and it still would not accept the password. I thought I might have better luck if i used my router wep code instead of a password. I tried to return to the site to reconfigure; it kept rerouting me to the support website, not the "local" configuration site. This must also be a common problem because there were specific instructions for this as well. This happened even after I reset to factory defaults. When I tried to register my product and get "chat help" the netgear site did not accept the serial number on my device, which I entered several times exactly as stamped on the device. This was very frustrating.

I was told at the store it was very simple to set up. I still have not been able to use it as I have not been able to set it up. Am debating whether I want to pay geek squad to come out to wok on it

Netgear Universal Dual Band WiFi Range Extender (WN2500RP)
Pros: Signal Strength Boost
I live in a signal challenged area due to significant commercial EMI. This product overcomes that interference and makes my WIFI functional. Easy to setup and use. Also provides a remote wired hub. Nicely designed.
