Does the job

This is a basic DVD player and a basic VHS VCR in one box. You can only use one at a time. It works fine for me--I need to play DVDs and VHS tapes occasionally. It does both of those jobs just fine.

Dont waste your money

I have had this combo vcr/dvd for several months and I have found that I never use it. When I want to watch anything I use my regular dvd player. This unit is useless. It will not play VCD disks, and when you play regular DVD's it will have trouble reading them half way through so you have to take out the dvd and watch the rest of the movie on another player. It is also very poorly programmed. If you click the Still/Pause button on some disks then try to resume, it will tell you it cannot play the disk but it was playing the same disk just fine before I pressed pause. I am throwing this one out. It does not play all standard formats, it is unreliable, and I have never been able to watch a full movie on it.

The first product received had a loud buzzing noise and didn't function properly. They replaced it and I am not aware of any problems so far. However, the process for getting the extended warranty was ridiculous. I was emailed several times and when I replied Ostock sent error messages each time. This is after I had already spoken with customer service. Their online system needs work.
