Got it from Amazon at a reasonable price, several hundreds lower than the costco price. Image for the standard definition is very impressive, which is normally lacking from many other HDTVs. Very satisfied.
More HDMI input will make it even better.

got a steal with 1299 including shipping directly from AMZN
after setting up the TV started with biting burned wire smell, so after 3 days i called Sony to report it, Sony gave me a number from a local service center, called and had a next day appointment, the service guy run the diagnostic, and explained me he had the same problem with some other brands
suggested to run it for 2 weeks and see
smell gets less every day, or my nose gets used to it?
service guy told me the TV will shut down in case of overheating etc
the service guy fine tuned some of my set me up of the sound and the picture
first time LCD HD user, awe full picture, looking forward to see the EURO soccer championship in June and later the Olympics

Great TV...
Just purchased the PS3 and the picture is awesome. The only thing I regret is not buying the 46 or 52 inch Sony TV's. The price was to good on the 40" to turn down.
