But he has to get them back quickly, as the nefarious Ape King has hatched an evil plot to resurrect an ancient dark dragon power via an eclipse. With the help of his sidekick, Sparx -- the tagalong dragonfly that points out areas of interest in the world -- Spyro must fight his way to the Ape King before the eclipse (hence the game's subtitle) in order to stop the summoning ceremony.
