Sony SAW2500 Subwoofer - Active 100W (RMS) - Magnetically Shielded
Pros: Easy to Setup
Cons: Power Rating lower than Stated only 60W RMS @ 10% THD
I purchased this sub-woofer to add to my bedroom system. I thought that when I bought it I would replace my Acoustic 8" 150W in my living room and put the Sony 10" 100W. Boy was I ever wrong. The Sony SW2500 says it is rated at 100W, but in actuality it is only 60W RMS at 10% THD. that is a far cry from 100w. The SW2500 bass output is not tight, My Acoustic 8" puts out more bass and is tighter in the reproduction. When the SW2500 is pushed it baffles (cone rattles with distortion). I did not replace my Acoustic 8" in the living. I placed the Sony SW2500 in the bedroom, since here I just listen to music and some movie titles it works okay. The bass is adequate, but muddled, not tight but for it's application it works. I very disappointed that the MFG rated this at 100W, when it is not 100W. I purchase it based on the MFG ratings and the MFG rating are false. My computer speakers (Eagle 508) sub-woofer at a mere 25W (per 61/2" Driver) puts out tighter and cleaner bass than this Sony SW2500. I am really thinking about returning this item.

Sony SAW2500 Subwoofer - Active 100W (RMS) - Magnetically Shielded
Pros: Due to sub-woofer output on my amp., installation was a snap.
Cons: Some may want more wattage but for me it's just fine.
This unit was easy to install and works as advertised. Good presents and front speaker works better on carpet than others I have tried. Solid case and controls access is handy.

Sony SAW2500 Subwoofer - Active 100W (RMS) - Magnetically Shielded
Pros: Very simple set up and operation
Cons: I can't think of anything that's not great about this subwoofer
This Sony subwoofer is perfect for my family room which measures 15' x 18'. I sit 12' away from the screen and the subwoofer is placed at the rear of the room in the corner. Because of it's size, it is easy to hide and delivers all the bass I could want. I don't have to worry about disturbing my neighbors so I crank up the volume and to my pleasant surprise, this subwoofer handles the load with no problem. And yes, if you want the walls to shake and feel the bass in your body, you can do that too with this subwoofer. The only thing you have to get used to is the "Power Saver" option. It will turn the subwoofer off and on depending on what is sent from your receiver. If it saves your investment and money, be happy it's there. If you don't care for this feature, turn it off. I am very happy with this little gem and you will be too.

Sony SAW2500 Subwoofer - Active 100W (RMS) - Magnetically Shielded
Pros: Price
Cons: nothing!
If my house could handle it, I would definitely get a better sub. That being said, this is a great sub for a smaller house and a starter surround system.

Sony SAW2500 Subwoofer - Active 100W (RMS) - Magnetically Shielded
Pros: Great Sound
Cons: It takes a few seconds for power to turn on automatically
I had limited space so I bought the Bose 166 shelf speakers, but they only give you mid to high range sound. I like the full spectrum of sound so bought the Sony 10' 100 watt sub-woofer. For the price the sound is great! If you buy this item, no need to buy the cable to attach to your amp because it comes with the speaker. This combination of Bose shelf speakers with the Sony sub-woofer gave me the sound I wanted.

Sony SAW2500 Subwoofer - Active 100W (RMS) - Magnetically Shielded
Pros: Good sound quality for the money
Cons: The RCA jack cord wasnt long enough. It was only about 6 ft long so had to put the sub-woofer close to the reeiver.
For the money, i was very pleased with the sound quality of the sub-woofer. I purchased it to enhance my existing speaker system. I didnt have a woofer before and didnt want to spend a lot of money to get one. It made a huge difference the quality of sound I had. I've watched a live concert, listened to ipod, fm reciever, and TV and it enhances all types of sound. Very happy so far.

Sony SAW2500 Subwoofer - Active 100W (RMS) - Magnetically Shielded
I moved into a house that had 5 channel speakers built in. I already owned a Sony TV and receiver, and wanted to add a cheap subwoofer. For $100 I got what I expected - a good, cheap unit that was easy to install in minutes and produces good rich bass to compliment the rest of my theater system. I would purchase it again based on my experience.

Sony SAW2500 Subwoofer - Active 100W (RMS) - Magnetically Shielded
Pros: Easy to set up and leave alone
Cons: Appearance is "old school" but it's out of sight anyway!
I coupled this woofer with a Vizio 32&quot; sound bar after reading several reviews by people doing the same thing. It's an excellent fit. Although the use was intended primarily for my HDTV, the sound quality is better than the two Polk tower speakers I was using off my receiver. Since all of my music is now on my iPod, I hook it up to the 2nd set of jacks on the sound bar and it has become my normal sound system now. The woofer as advertised does have the auto on/off feature which I have no complaints about. I have it behind my whole system in a niche so it would be difficult to adjust regularly. The bass is perfect for both HDTV sound as well as<br />louder levels for my iPod songs.

Sony SAW2500 Subwoofer - Active 100W (RMS) - Magnetically Shielded
Pros: clean look
Cons: can't push it too much.
I basically asked for the best bang for my buck..and they said this would be it..i bought it and i was impressed. I put it in my room (average 12x12 room). It has great sounds and it shakes the walls (mine is in the corner under a desk though so that amplifies the sound). The high notes hit perfectly, the only issue is when you get to the lower notes. I am a huge audiophile and the one thing i really need is deep clean bass, but when this sub has to hit loud low notes(only a few notes it has a problem with), you get the papery sound with it. You can hear the sub being pushed to the limit. It only shows up when I'm listening to it loudly, so if you are looking for just a quiet rumble, this will be good. But I listen to music a lot, and loudly, and it sounds like foam surround is almost non existent (its there..i checked). There's just a depth that seems to be missing, but overall, this is a pretty impressive sub woofer for the price, and for the most part, it hits all the notes I ask it to.

Sony SAW2500 Subwoofer - Active 100W (RMS) - Magnetically Shielded
Pros: Price
Cons: Nothing
I bought this to replace a 15 year old Yamaha sub woofer. The sound is very good and the price was great. It was easy to hook up to my 5.1 setup and has the auto on off feature. Plenty of power for a 12 X 12 room.

Sony SAW2500 Subwoofer - Active 100W (RMS) - Magnetically Shielded
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
My 15 year old Sony subwoofer kicked the bucket. Needed a replacement without breaking the bank. I got a NICE subwoofer in this Sony 10&quot;. My newly renovated &quot;man cave&quot; is located in my modestly sized basement. New 3D Samsung TV so did not want to embarrass my system with a cheap sub. Very pleased with the sound. Nice deep lows and sub only kicks on when needed to save power and wear/tear on the sub. Good power. Would recommend to anyone!

Sony SAW2500 Subwoofer - Active 100W (RMS) - Magnetically Shielded
I wasn't overly impressed with the performance but it's adequate. It's not thumping so loud as to shake anyone's pictures off the wall but you can hear a reasonable amount of bass.

Sony SAW2500 Subwoofer - Active 100W (RMS) - Magnetically Shielded
Pros: the bass sound is great you really get into a movie where the bass makes a difference.
Cons: the wood encasement 60s look , could be made to look more to the times. But don't let that stop you from buying this gem
this subwoofer is awesome for the price. I replaced my woofer which was not self powered with Sonys self-powered and it is fantastic. It makes all the difference in the surrond sound when watching a movie it literally makes you feel that your in it. great price, great bass and well worth the money.
