HP Photosmart 6510 Inkjet Multifunction & Wireless Printer, B211A
Hewlett Packard
- CQ761A#B1H
Pros: Not much
Cons: Goes through ink
I purchased this printer primarily for its wireless capabilities and it has worked well in that regard. However, I did have to return the first one as defective to HP while it was still under warranty. My biggest disappointment has been with its inability to print custom sized papers, especially envelopes.

Pros: photo printing
Cons: Preview function for photos to be printed or of scans are not available, as far as I can discover
I miss a preview function for photos and scans--if there is one, I have not found it. The photos come out sharply defined if a little lighter than I expect; I hope that a little manipulation in Photoshop Elements will help with that. Document printing is good. I haven't discovered how to set draft quality and gray scale as the default. So far ink consumption not high. I like hardware and software that are easy to set up and to use but produce good results; this nearly fits the bill.

Pros: So very simple to set up!
Cons: No film negative scanning.
Wow, how lucky can you get? I've only bought four printers in 26yrs. A Brother daisy wheel for 2 yrs. A Panasonic dot-matrix for 4yrs. I had a LexMark inkjet for 8 yrs. By far the best printer I've had to date, the HP Photosmart 3210 All-In-One, the print head screwed up, after 12yrs. I'm replacing the HP 3210 with this printer. I can only hope I get another 12 yrs out of the HP 6510.

Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Paper tray does not hold many sheets
I have had this printer for almost a month now and use it mainly for printing & scanning documents. However, it does a great job on pictures as well. I love the larger touchpad for easy application. It is very easy to use. There are only 3 things I would change... 1) I wish it would have a larger paper tray 2) a tray for continuous scanning (as opposed to just the flat bed) and 3) a faster ppm. However, for the price and size, it does a great job (as well as all the other HP printers I have had in the past). I would highly recommend this product.

Pros: Fast and print quality good.
Cons: Had to call service center to get wireless to work.
Very good printer for the money. It was tempermental at the beginning, but I called the service center and the tech got it to work and it hasn't failed since that time.

Pros: step-by-step install instructions display on printer
Cons: no negatives
had to get newprinter as old one not compatible with new laptop. after reading other reviews about simplity of installing the 6510 decided to purchase. it happened to be on sale at time of purchase, so that was an additional plus. all i had to do was plug it in and on-screen instructions literally did the rest. installation was so easy. I really love this printer. I print both documents and pictures.

Pros: Photo printing is amazing!
Cons: A little slow to start a print job but PPM is good.
Great printer, was really amazed at how well it prints photos. HP did a good job in all aspects. Haven't used all the features yet but it's dependable, prints pretty quickly and looks good on my desk.

Pros: Prints quiet, scans easy
Cons: Nothing
This replaced a B209a and I haven't been happier with my choice. Was easy to set up, prints quietly, easy to scan and easy to reload for two sided printing. Great choice for the home.

Pros: Footprint
I needed a printer that was wireless and supported Air Print for the wife's I pad. This fit the bill. Has all the functions required with a small footprint. Wife has it on a shelf in the kitchen and can print to it with ease. My son also uses it for laptop printing.

Pros: How would we know, the "blue screen of death" shut it off.
Cons: It caused our computer to shut down.
HP needs to do their homework! After THREE NEW HP Pavilion M6 laptops that would "blue screen of death" every time we hooked up an HP printer (yes, we tried 2 of these printers and the HP 3520), we had to return this printer and purchase a Canon printer. HP could offer NO help with this problem...after nearly FOUR hours on the phone with their tech support people. Geek Squad was very helpful, but too bad HP can't build a computer and printer that work together. We liked the features that were advertised about this printer, but we never got to experience them. My college freshman son loves the computer, we're just hoping the Canon printer will let the computer to continue to work without causing the computer to "blue screen".

Pros: Easy set-up with wireless network
Cons: prints slowly
Great printer for home use. The set-up was very easy with the wireless network at home. The printer is the right size to sit on top of my home office desk and not take up a lot of space. It prints slow as to be expected with this class of printer but for home use it's no big deal.

Pros: pretty much plugnplay
Cons: cardtridge life
I also purchase full size carts, assuming it came with starters-even though the full size i bought were new genuine HP the machine insisted upon the starters-makes me worried about replacements

Pros: Ease of use
Cons: A little tricky to get eprint working
I previously owned a HP Photo printer that was in need of upgrading. I decided unwisely to purchase another brand. Although the print quality was good It only lasted until just after the warranty peroid was up. I decided to return to a HP product and was lucky to find this one on sale at Best Buy. So far it has proved to be a reliable printer. I especially like the eprint feature. although that was a little tricky to get set up.With the help of HP's web site I was able to get it on line. The photo print quality is as good as any I have compaired it to.

Pros: Best Buy came to the rescue!
Cons: Poorly written instructions; Difficulty installing ink cartridges
I found the written instructions to be poorly written. One is to rely upon the demo on the display. I had difficulty installing the ink cartridges, as one would not click into place properly. I finally took the printer back to my local Best Buy, with the receipt from another of their stores. Best Buy exchanged the printer for me and installed the ink cartridges for me, so I am a satisfied Best Buy customer! So far, I have used the printer to scan and print documents, but not photos, with satisfactory results.

Pros: wireless printing, ePrint feature, automatic duplex printing, easy setup
Cons: need to know how to setup duplex printing on mac to work
I was looking for a double sided printer. After trying a Canon, I upgraded to this one. It's very easy to set up. If you're a mac user and are looking to use the double-sided printing feature check: In the print window that pops up after you select File>Print, select Paper Handling. Click in the check box to select "Scale to fit paper size". That allows you to select the Destination Paper Size. Select from the pull-down menu US Letter, then US Letter Two-sided margins. Now when you go to Two-sided Printing, you can click on the check box to select Print Both Sides.
