ASUS Zenbook UX31E-DH52 13.3-Inch Thin and Light Ultrabook (Silver Aluminum)
Pros: Thin, highly mobile, long battery life
Cons: No emergency CD or recovery partition
I have purchased 8 different brands of notebooks and this one is by far the best purchase. The unit is very durable and shows quality build. Even with the extreme thinness you do not feel its will be easily damaged. One of the nicest keyboards, with raised stainless keys. Bright crisp screen even when in economy mode. Long battery life, much better than most of the competition. SDD drive makes for low heat and fast boot times, again runs circles around other units.

ASUS Zenbook UX31E-DH52 13.3-Inch Thin and Light Ultrabook (Silver Aluminum)
Pros: Lightweight, FAST, amazing sound and display
Cons: Nothing
My laptop was dying so my better half gave me permission to go purchase a new one. I walked into Best Buy near my house and this machine was the first one I saw. The only thing that might keep some people from purchasing would be the drive space. Fortunately for me, all my files that do not have personal information are stored out in the cloud.
This thing has an amazing display and an even better sound. You just cannot compete with Bang & Olufsen when it comes to high end audio.
Buy this laptop and you will never regret it.

ASUS Zenbook UX31E-DH52 13.3-Inch Thin and Light Ultrabook (Silver Aluminum)
Pros: slick and sleek - performs very well when plugged in
Cons: having to deal with any kind of return/repair - losing confidence in ASUS
Works great when plugged in. Useless otherwise. Charged battery at > 90% - unplug it and it dies. Not having it for that two week trip was disappointing, having to deal with any kind of return and repair is bothersome. What was the point of buying this product if it does not work?

ASUS Zenbook UX31E-DH52 13.3-Inch Thin and Light Ultrabook (Silver Aluminum)
Pros: speed, build quality, solid state, portability
Cons: nothing yet
Only thing I was worried about in purchasing this computer was the reported touchpad issues in earlier models. This, however, was not experienced with my zenbook, nor was it a problem with the one I recommended (and set up) for my brother in law. Everything works great thus far and I have had no issues whatsoever.

ASUS Zenbook UX31E-DH52 13.3-Inch Thin and Light Ultrabook (Silver Aluminum)
Pros: Comfortable Keyboard, Fast, Lightweight, Long Battery Life, Powerful, Quality Display, Quiet, Sound quality
The speakers are awesome on this laptop. Perfect for folks happy with Windows, but wanting a thin, light laptop like the macbook air. I've had this for a while and have not noticed any issues with battery or responsiveness in the applications/OS, which I think is a first for a Windows laptop.

Only complaint would be about disk space being 128GB, but then again not a big problem with the use of cloud storage that I already use.

ASUS Zenbook UX31E-DH52 13.3-Inch Thin and Light Ultrabook (Silver Aluminum)
Pros: Fast, Long Battery Life, Powerful
the flash drive on this computer is order of magnitudes better than my last computer. I don't think I could ever go back to non-flash harddrives again.

ASUS Zenbook UX31E-DH52 13.3-Inch Thin and Light Ultrabook (Silver Aluminum)
Pros: Form Factor, Great aesthetics, Screen Resolution, Solid construction
I really love this laptop and would give 4.5 stars if possible. The only complaints I have are the same as everyone else; the keyboard is a little quirky and takes some getting used to as is the touchpad (it's not nearly as bad as some reviews have made it out to be but it is an issue with this laptop). I however would highly recommend this product and would purchase again.

ASUS Zenbook UX31E-DH52 13.3-Inch Thin and Light Ultrabook (Silver Aluminum)
Pros: stylish, sturdy, lightweight, long battery life
Cons: hidden variations of SSD and Touchpad
Buyer beware, the Asus x31 comes with several variations that are all packaged with the same model number.
Run a Google search on "Asus x31 touchpad Elan Sentelic" to learn about the problems with the Sentelic touchpad which were improved when the newer models shipped with Elan.
Run a second Google search on "Asus x31 SSD Sandisk SandForce" to learn about the poor test results of the units which were shipped with Sandisk.
I found this article to be particularly compelling: http://thessdreview.com/our-reviews/asus-zenbook-ssd-review-not-necessarily-sandforce-driven-shows-significant-speed-bump/
Notice they state that the Sandisk results were amongst the lowest of any SSD they had ever received for any solid state drive when looking at benchmarks as a whole. Likewise it had one of the lowest Vantage test scores they had ever seen in an SSD.
By comparison the Sandforce version was receiving rave reviews.
The main problem is that the packaging shipped by the manufacturer does not seem to include any indication which touchpad or which SSD is included in the box and they were all shipped with the same model number. I spent over an hour with employees at a Best Buy store including Geek Squard and their warehousing department to try to work out what was inside their box... they couldn't tell me. The only option they gave was that I would have to make the purchase and return it if I wasn't happy with what it contained! Works fine if you are at the store, but not so nice if purchasing online I imagine.
I was happy to find it had the Elan touchpad, but was sorry to see that it included the Scandisk driven SSD variation... a deal breaker considering that the exact same model is out there with performance results far better when it has the Sandforce SSD at the exact same price. It could be an issue with what stock is on hand at each store or perhaps this is all that was sent to Best Buy... hard to tell as no one at Best Buy so far has been able to give me that answer. So in the end, I'll have to return it and look elsewhere. Sad because it is a very nice machine and I like buying from Best Buy based on good experiences in the past.
Good luck in finding the 'golden ticket'!

ASUS Zenbook UX31E-DH52 13.3-Inch Thin and Light Ultrabook (Silver Aluminum)
Pros: Lightweight
Did research for several days before purchasing. Everything as expected. Higher resolution than similar products at 1600x900 for 13.3" screen. Arrive on time. Lightweight. Will need to buy an additional DVD/RW drive as the unit does not have one (known before purchase). Good for school and travel. Hope the price for ultrabook will decrease in the near future.

ASUS Zenbook UX31E-DH52 13.3-Inch Thin and Light Ultrabook (Silver Aluminum)
Pros: Small, thin, light, fast.
Cons: touchpad - but useable
I love this machine. It's well made, fast, and has an excellent display and keyboard. The touchpad needs a driver that doesn't allow movement of the pointer when the button areas are used -- they should be select only. Right now, if you slide your finger while pushing the button, it moves the pointer. Also, users should be able to adjust the touch to make it less sensitive. These are driver issues -- not hardware flaws.

ASUS Zenbook UX31E-DH52 13.3-Inch Thin and Light Ultrabook (Silver Aluminum)
Pros: light - and Fast performance
Cons: unclear documentation - forgets wireless addresses
I have enjoyed using this - although it was difficult to find how to make the wireless work at new sites - it would not admit that there were available wireless connections (and since there was no documentation it took a while to trouble shoot this problem - which is that the light indicating that the wireless is on - is not necessarily accurate - one needs to turn the wireless button on and off).

ASUS Zenbook UX31E-DH52 13.3-Inch Thin and Light Ultrabook (Silver Aluminum)
Pros: Form factor, portability, SSD, USB 3.0, battery life
Cons: micro-HDMI, stiff keyboard
I have been an exclusive Mac user since 2003. The Ultrabook buzz and my growing disdain for Apple as a company and their "Apple knows what's best for me and the world over" mentality made me give PC another shot. The last version of Windows I used was XP and my switch to Mac OS Tiger destroyed any credibility Windows had in my eyes. I used my PC primarily for business and got so tired of Windows crashing in the middle of running payroll and freezing up in Quickbooks Pro that I figured a Mac could be no worse.

ASUS Zenbook UX31E-DH52 13.3-Inch Thin and Light Ultrabook (Silver Aluminum)
Pros: It's beautiful looking
Cons: wiFi shut off'; Touchpad is too large so your hands brush against it while typing (if you have big hands like me!)
I had read that that were problems with the WiFi shutting off randomly, but was hoping I would receive a working model. I was wrong. Anytime the computer goes to sleep the WiFi shuts off. There's a switch that is supposed to prevent it from happening but it doesn't work. I've read that in order to fix this bug, I should turn on "Maximum Performance" in the power options, but that didn't work and there was only the choice of "High Performance.." Also, the touchpad is huge so part of my thumbs and hand brush against it and activate the cursor at random types.. I won't be able to train my hands to sit higher while i type! I'm returning this. I don't need this level of frustration with a $1,000 notebook.

ASUS Zenbook UX31E-DH52 13.3-Inch Thin and Light Ultrabook (Silver Aluminum)
Pros: Fast and very good battery life
Cons: keyboard and mouse
I have a heavy desktop replacement laptop for my primary system and needed something that was light and good battery life. Overall this laptop is really nice. Nice screen, very light and thin, and great battery life. Believe the many other reviews you see about this system, the keyboard just plan sucks. Its not very responsive and will sometime miss keystrokes unless you mash the kids. Also, while not quite as bad the mouse track pad is not as good as you would expect for a laptop like this. Updating the driver did help some, but its still seems to be inconsistently over/under sensitive when using.

ASUS Zenbook UX31E-DH52 13.3-Inch Thin and Light Ultrabook (Silver Aluminum)
Pros: Size, performance, boot time, screen, form factor, weight, battery life, included accessories
Cons: Keyboard, Trackpad, Sharp Edges
Honestly I am super impressed with this computer. Almost everything is great! I love the form factor, styling, weight, battery life, and screen. Even the sound is pretty good for an ultra portable. Boot up time is the fastest I have ever seen from a PC (~12s), and it wakes from standby before I can even get the screen fully lifted. Absolutely incredible for my typical business use (web tools and MS Office), and awesome for travel and running around between meetings. I was also very impressed with the packaging (I swear they put some type of "new electronics" perfume in the box) and the abundance of included accessories including a case, VGA adaptor, ethernet adaptor, etc.
