Toshiba 52HL167 HD REGZA LCD TV
I had this TV for exactly one month. Luckily I could send it back for a full refund. The TV stopped turning on. Tried different outlets, differnt electronics in the outlets everything else worked fine. The TV did look good for the time I had it. But it lacks a few feature other TVs in its price range have, like Picture in Picture or USB viewing (the one on this is just for service). From playing games on it there was some blurring with the 8ms reponse time. The sound was decent for TV speakers. The features are lacking compared to other TVs, and the price has gone up, I got it for $1941 and now is about $300 more. Also I should mention it is a very heavy TV for an LCD and thicker than most, just another reason to go with a different TV. If it worked I would give the TV a 3 star review, but I would suggest buying through amazon for the teriffic Customer Service. They extended my return window since I only had 3 days left to return the TV, and it was Saturday and it would take a

I did not buy my 52HL167 from Amazon, but I used the site to do research so felt compelled to leave my own review. I have had the TV for nearly 2 months. No issues to speak of. The picture quality is great, in fact I have made no adjustments to the factory settings since it looks so good and I haven't want to mess with them. The glossy black cabinet looks really nice in my new entertainment center - no extra distracting features, just a simple, classy frame and the toshiba logo; you can barely notice the speakers (which have pretty good sound - in fact unless I'm watching a movie or something with music content where it really matters to me, I am more than satisfied to use the TV speakes alone).

From my research, there are some who note motion blur. I have watched football, hockey and basketball and cannot discern any blur. The only time I see it is the white words over the black background of the scrolling update at the bottom of the screen on ESPN. Unless you are obsessed with

Just got this TV - picked it because of its top rated reviews on its video processor and also the anti reflection of the screen. If you have some backlight this one is the best. SONY XBR is a little more reflective and Samsung is the most reflective. If you have no side or backlighting go with the Samsung because it will be the clearest and sharpest, however you will have to live with the reflection of the screen. This one does not reflect at all!!
Enjoying!

Researched and viewed in person many brands of LCD TVs. Chose Toshiba because of: independent consumer magazine recommendation, matte screen, previous good experience with Toshiba products, price.

I have it wall-mounted, attached via HDMI to DVR/cable box. Highest resolution cable company supplies is 1080i - but still very good.

Very good picture, even on STDTV. Sound is amazing for standard TV audio. StableSound (levels volume) actually works (but it can't level modulation). No noticable clouds, fringing or motion blur.

Very pleased - would recommend and buy again.

Toshiba 52HL167 HD REGZA LCD TV
We ordered this LCD the weekend before Christmas. It shipped Christmas eve and Eagle delivered the TV the following Wednesday. They brought the TV in, unpacked it and allowed my husband to check it over. Because it was only 12 degrees outside, they recommended not plugging it in until it warmed up. We had it up and running that evening with a fabulous picture.

We hooked it up with our Philips home theatre system and it is unbelieveably clear --even on NFL and NHL sports! We have no motion lag. Like several others, we had compared to the samsung 120Hz in stores and couldn't see a difference so we were able to get the 52" Toshiba for the price of the 47" Samsung 120Hz. Wow --Amazon has some great pricing and the delivery service is definitely top notch. You will not be dissatisfied with this purchase! ENJOY

Amazon was great. They refunded me almost a hundred dollars because they lowered the price within 30 days of my purchase. The price was great. The free shipping was great. Eagle delivery was great. It took seven days during the pre-Christmas rush. The picture is outstanding. This Toshiba has no pillaring, no banding and no clouding. It can take sunlight right straight on the screen and still look great. If you are watching football or golf it is very difficult to notice the sun at all. You will see it on darker scenes, but the picture is still very viewable. Amazing really. You do lose picture intensity as you move farther to the side but this set is very watchable from any 'normal' viewing location.

The remote control is very good and it is easy to switch from one source to another. One dumb idea that Toshiba came up with was the 1/2 mute. The first time you hit mute it cuts the sound 1/2 so you have to hit the mute twice to fully mute and once to get the sound back on.

Toshiba 52HL167 HD REGZA LCD TV
We have had the 52HL167 for about a week now and it is fantastic. Last sunday, took it out of the box at half time of the morning NFL games, and the HD picture was awesome. We have it hooked up with a HDMI cable.

We have seen no motion blur at all and no green push what so ever. From reading the AVS forums, I think sept 07 builds and on are okay with green push.

Of coarse SD isn't the greatest. It depends on the channel. But everything is watchable.

Toshiba 52HL167 HD REGZA LCD TV
I spent a lot of time reviewing different big-screen HDTVs. When it came down to buying one, this is the one I wanted because it had all of the right specs. I liked the full 1080p that most plasmas don't have. I also liked that you could see it from a wide viewing angle, unlike the rear projection sets. I also liked that it had 3 HDMI inputs instead of just 2 so that I could plug my satellite, my PS3, and still have an empty HDMI slot for a computer, or HD-DVD player (as opposed to blu-ray, just in case), or whatever else might come along.

We got the TV, and I knew what to expect with HDTV. But I was still amazed at how extraordinary the picture was. I'm really glad we got the full 1080, because the over-the-air broadcasts were sending 1080, and it was breathtaking. I didn't necessarily want to watch the show that was on, but we sat and just stared at the picture! It was phenomenal. So much detail! The picture is amazing, and with the ColorBurst, and the Dynamic Lighting, this

I did a lot of research prior to purchasing a flat screen HDTV and found this one to stand alone. Consumer Reports compared this TV to a comparable Sony and Samsung (LCD's) and beat them both. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase.

I would recommend that any LCD or Plasma TV you purchase be professionally tuned for optimal viewing, although out of the box the TV performs exceptionally well.

The biggest advantage I found with an LCD compared to a plasma is that there isn't any glare with an LCD. We have 2 skylights and a french door within 5' of our TV. I actually preferred the Pioneer 50" (5080 model) Plasma's color to the Toshiba LCD but the light effects based on our home layout ruled out any Plasma. The Toshiba, of all the LCD's, had the best black and color resolutions of any LCD out there with no glare from natural lighting.

The extra $300 you'd spend compared to a Samsung is well worth it. The TV is in line with Sony price wise but this model is a hair better in

Toshiba 52HL167 HD REGZA LCD TV
We ordered this TV from an Amazon partner, and it arrived well-packaged and in great condition. We set it up and it's about the best TV picture we've ever seen. Really black blacks, no problems at all with fast action. Sharp, crisp picture with excellent realistic colors. No glare problems from room light, unlike our previous TV. Fits very close to the wall with no issues, opening up a ton of floor space. We're very glad we bought this!
