I WISH THERE WAS A NEGATIVE STAR OPTION FOR THIS PRODUCT

I have previously owned a portable Audivox DVD player for my car, which gave me all sorts of problems and Audiovox stopped supporting after only 3 years (in other words, they wouldn't repair at any price). Thus, I entered into this purchase with hesitation. However, I wanted an under-the-cabinet small screen TV, and there are only a few options in this market sector.

I should have learned, but same as my last Audiovox purchase, this one was problem-laden. While it worked (all of 6 weeks) it was adequate. Decent picture, average sound (I didn't expect more for the size and price), and installation was fairly easy.

However, about 5 weeks into ownership, the screen went black. No warning, no power. It happened once, and I thought perhaps a fluke event. However a week or so later it went black again, same thing, no power, no picture. And it never came on again.

I've called Audiovox again, and again their service has been non-existent. They actually recommend "buying a new one" and  more

Great in the kitchen!

I love this little TV. It's a perfect TV for the Kitchen. It has a magnetic remote to keep on the side of the Frig. It sounds good. The DVD/CD & radio are a bonus. The swival screen was a must for us and it's great that we can view it from different angles. We had hoped it would mount under our individual 15" corner cabinet by our eating area but the interior bottom of the cabinet was not quite wide enough so we had to mount the unit to a custom cut black shelf and mount the black shelf to the bottom of this cabinet. It was more work but it looks good and is where we wanted it installed. So, you likely need a typical 18" individual cabinet to have a large enough interior bottom area to mount the 4 screws as designed for installation or you'll have to do something like we did. The screen is wide screen format & only 9" so you can't see the TV picture details real well much past 15' away. But you can hear it very well from much further. Great product for the money! Don't buy this product!!!

Do not buy an this product. I got the 12" for Christmas. The power stopped after one day. We replaced it with a 9" (this model). It worked for five weeks. Yesterday I tried to turn it on and there is no power. When you call the 800 number, you are on hold for a customer service rep for at least an hour. Then they make you box it up and ship it back at your own expense to have it repaired or replaced. I made this purchase in good faith, and I should not have to pay shipping for an items that craps out after five weeks. Buyer beware, stay away!!!

Great little kitchen TV - I love it!

I love this under-cabinet TV! It was delivered promptly, and my husband installed it easily. He just had to drill a small hole in the kitchen counter to feed the cable up and under the cabinets, then he drilled four small holes under the cabinet to mount the TV. Now I can watch my favorite shows while cooking dinner or cleaning the kitchen! Picture quality is very good (with cable hook-up).
I measured the actual picture, and it was exactly 9 inches on the diagonal. The screen includes a 1-inch black band outside the picture area. The screen swivels 359 degrees, so you can see the TV no matter where you are in the kitchen. The radio, DVD, and clock-display all work fine as well. The sound is not as good as our larger TVs, but about what I expected for this smaller TV.
The screen folds up nicely when not in use, and the remote is magnetized. I stick it onto a nearby appliance so it doesn't get lost on the countertop. I've only had this TV a month, but I'm very pleased so far!

Good TV

I put the tv in my kitchen and it is is hooked up to satellite. It works well. I have also played cds, and listened to the radio everything works well and is easy to operate. You really have to pay attention to detail when installing it.

Good.... but

First of all, the product does not come in a plain cardboard box. It is just shipped in its own box, revealing what the product is when it arrives. Takes the guesswork out of the present.

Secondly, the unit was easy to install, but my LCD display is not functioning properly and the TV will have to be returned. It could have been the cold weather that damaged it.

Otherwise, I'm looking forward to using it to watch DVD's, TV, listen to CD's and the radio. Picture quality looks good.

Great buy

I was skeptical about buying something without seeing it. When it arrived, I was surprised to see all the features and how clear a picture it had. I was upset that the item was not as it is pictured on the website. My item is black and does not look like the picture shown above. Not sure why but I would rather have the gray one above.
I purchased this item to have music and watch TV while in the kitchen. I still have to hook it up to an antenna or cable but I do love using it for the radio and CD player. I am however worried that the continued use of the flip down screen will make the mechanism weak or loose to the point that the screen falls off. I hope this doesn't happen. Overall, I am pleased with this product.

Undercounter TV

At $230, pretty expensive for a 9 in screen but that said, the picture and sound are terrific and the installation and set-up are fairly straight forward. A DVD player is included, which I do not intend to use.

Be prepared to drill some holes in your cabinet if you intend to hang it under a counter. The screws supplied are round-headed which would have interfered with the movement of the plates in the cabinet above. I changed them to flat-head screws and countersunk them which made it a neat and seamless install.

I really like this product now that I've used it and recommend it to anyone wanting a discrete TV in a small space. One negative, Audiovox provides a 90 day warranty.... what happened to 1 year??????

I am very happy with my Under the Cabinet TV. The clarity is beautiful. Was very easy to install and easy to use. I love the fact that it's a TV DVD/CD and Radio player. I would recommend this product to everyone. You will enjoy it and the space you save in your kitchen.

Better than expected

Many of the reviews for undercabinet tvs are so negative that I almost didn't make a purchase. However, I'm happy that I did. The swivel screen is a neat function, especially when sun comes into the room. The picture using an antenna only, was really great for about 10 channels. I can't imagine how well the picture looks when hooked up to cable. The sound is impressive for a little device and the remote is magnetic and sticks to the fridge!! Overall, I think this is a great product!

Nice but tough install

Very nice but very very hard to install. The screws are thin and there is very little tolerance if you are not within 1 MM or a degree or two off of 90°.

i love it

I love my new audiovox tv.. It was delivered very promptly.. The only problem I had was liviing in a townhouse, getting the cable through and I had to hire an electrician at 250.00... The tv, however and all its features are wonderful...You can adjust the screen to fill it at wide angle or turn it to a portrait angle which does not fill the screen.. I dont mind cooking or cleaning in the kitchen now when my favorite tv program is on and I dont have to run back and forth during commecials. The price at Amazon was the best anywhere!!! Free shipping and no tax...cannot be beat...Picture quality is great and can be altered to fit your preferences. It was fun watching my jpgs on it as a slide show

Plug and play...

The Audiovox 9 inch tv/dvd player proudly hangs in our kitchen and has quickly become a conversation point. The size and clarity of the screen automatically draw your attention. It has been quite easy to use with the manual being able to answer basic questions and provide information quickly. I like the delayed volume upon start up. The only concerns are the template for hanging the product, it didn't match exactly with the holes on the machine. Also, the screen has a clear, high shine face which can create difficulties with the light relecting off the screen. We are enjoying the television and are satisfied with the choice.

Great Product

this is a great little DVD Player. it even works Great with Cable/Directv be aware though that it will only work with standard Directv system not directv dvr ect. not the right hook ups. but I love the product. this time of year I am in the kitchen a lot because I do a lot of canning having this in there makes it much better to be in there alone.

kitchen TV

I am a bit disappointed w/ the quality of the picture--I can't figure out what it is that needs to be tweaked. It also is smaller than I expected--the TV picture does not use the entire screen and I do not think that is adjustable for TV, altho' it may be for DVD which I have not tried. The buttons on the remote are teeny. But since this is more of a background TV for me and I watch it only for short periods of time, it works for me. I have not tried the radio or DVD player--probably never will. I bought it for the TV only, and that is adequate for my purposes.

Disapointed

I ordered the VE927 to replace a smaller Audiovox drop down model that I had in my kitchen for several years and which always worked flawlessly. The earlier model was wall-mountable and I assumed the VE927 would be also. It wasn't. In fact the VE927 is not even VESA compatible. None of the information provided on Amazon indicated that it was not wall-mountable. However, I figured out a way to hang it just like a picture which is functional, but it looks kind of dumb. After about an hour of use, it displayed a "No Signal" message. Even when I hooked it up to another antenna and a cable connection, I got the same message. The DVD and radio functions were OK. I sent it back to Audiovox and they repaired it in a couple weeks. Now, I notice that sometimes the screen will go black with the sound on. When I turn it off and on again it works OK. If you need a wall-mountable kitchen TV I would go with a larger EDTV/HDTV flat screen instead of the VE927. I would avoid Audiovox because of  more

A nice surprise

The mechanism seams a bit flimsy when you pull the TV to swivel - however, if you are careful the product seems great. The picture and sound are fantastic. DVD, radio and TV all function well. For a 9" TV it delivers, but it is only 9". I would say a great little value for the right place.

Good Spacesaver TV

I am pleased with the performance, versatility and compactness of this product. It did need to be connected to a cable line to get good video reception.
