LC-37D62U 37" 16:9 AQUOS HD 1080p LCD Television
Got this TV at an Atlanta area MART that sells many BRANDS (hint, hint), and got it at an excellent price (after salesperson cuts and rebates, got it for just over $900). Its a different model number (store-specific), but the same exact TV.

Here are lists for the pros and cons:

PROS
- Excellent picture, and easy to plug-n-play
- The TV menu/options has a TON of pick-and-choose settings, which leads to an endless amount of tweaking to get the best possible picture.
- The set looks nice mounted on the wall.
- The sound for TV/Cable is excellent.
- The HD picture for the cable is crisp and clear!
- Energy save features are great (auto-shut off, signal detection, automatic brightness adjuster, etc).

CONS
- Main Con: The picture from playing Blu-Ray movies (connected with a proper 1080p HDMI cable from a PS3) is not as crisp as some other TVs I have seen. I've been told that this is most likely due to the size of the TV, as larger TVs would be able to deliver 'crisper' detail (as the 1080

LC-37D62U 37" 16:9 AQUOS HD 1080p LCD Television
As in the cases of some of the other one star reviews listed here, our TV arrived and didn't work. Instead of simply exchanging the TV for a new, working one or quickly sending someone to our home to fix it, Sharp has dragged us through weeks of their "standard reaction" to this situation. That included me personally driving the TV to a service provider. I have never experienced such poor customer service, especially on a $1000.00 item. When I contacted our local service repair company to get a status update today they told me they had requested the needed parts last week, but that Sharp has shipped them UPS ground. This will easily push us into a fifth or sixth week of waiting for the brand new TV we purchased over one month ago and paid extra to have shipped in two days. Sharp obviously has no desire to make their customers happy. This will without a doubt be the last Sharp product we purchase. We have been happy Amazon customer for many years, but our advice to anyone considering

LC-37D62U 37" 16:9 AQUOS HD 1080p LCD Television
Many people have written reviews complaining about popping noises coming from the speakers. My set right out of the box had this problem. I found out it was not the TV. It was the Comcast cable box. Apparently the HDMI port on the cable box was not functioning. A new cable box fixed the problem. Aside from that, great TV. We love the size and picture quality.

I think this is one of the best value LCD televisions available. I think the Sony Bravia has the best picture, but it really goes up in price compared to the Sharp. I don't see the attraction to the Samsung products (other than the 52 inch LCD they have), and I think that the Sharp looks better than every LCD besides the Sony. I have blu-ray for the TV, and it looks magnificent. So get this TV, a blu-ray player, and Planet Earth on blu-ray and you will see the power the TV actually has.

LC-37D62U 37" 16:9 AQUOS HD 1080p LCD Television
I bought this TV the last week of November, and have had it for about 2 weeks. The picture was phenomenal, right out of the box. I'd give this 5 stars, based on the following:

PROS:

* VERY nice picture. Watching NBA and NFL was like putting on glasses for the 1st time. I immediately noticed details that I've never seen before...and this was just on a 37" TV! I've already had 2 friends buy one of these after coming over to see mine. I can't get enough of the Discovery Channel's HD offerings! I loved them before, but they are night-and-day better in HD!!!
* GREAT console. The TV fits nicely in my living room, and has a very attractive black casing.
* VERY nice picture. It' SO good, I needed to mention it twice!!!
* EASY set up. The TV is packaged so that you can fasten the base onto the TV without removing it from the foam bumpers. This prevents the screen from getting scratched while (alternatively) lying it on the floor during installation. Great packaging!!!
* NICELY

LC-37D62U 37" 16:9 AQUOS HD 1080p LCD Television
The picture is very clear. I can see the print without my glasses. I am glad it has the 1080 pixels which is superior to the 760 version. The TV arrived sooner than expected. It is easy to put together and is light in weight. I chose the Sharp Aquos over the Sony XBR for 3 reasons. Sony didn't have a 37-inch size and Consumer Reports rated the Sony and the Sharp equally. The Sharp is less expensive for the same picture quality.

Clear, and awesome with PS3, Fantastic HD picture, butSD picture is pretty bad; after a few minoradjustments, the picture looked ok.The auto brightness feature is sort of annoying, but easy to work around. Beautiful cabinet, controls are located on the top of the set using the remoteis a must for high mount locations. The unit's sound is alittle weak, but that's why I have it connected to asurround system - which was easy.Mine Arrived with 2 dead pixels! Hopefully Sharp will sortthis out.

LC-37D62U 37" 16:9 AQUOS HD 1080p LCD Television
Let me first say, I do not own this Sharp TV, but feel somewhat qualified to give my point-of-view.

Like many of you, I was limited to a 37" set due to existing cabinet restrictions. Wife would not let me get rid of the existing furniture, etc.... Due to the configuration of our cabinet, even the new 40" narrow bezel sets were not going to work for us. So, I made a project to find the best 37".

Here were the issues I (we) face:

- The only 37" plasma ever made is now out of production (Panasonic)
- Most of the major manufactures do not make 37" any longer (it seems 40 is the new 37)
- Wanted full 1080p
- Wanted maximum hook-up options

So my choices were limited to three:
- Sharp Aquos LC37D62U
- JVC LT-37X688
- LG 37LB5D

I was lucky my local Fry's electronics store had all three of these models displayed side-by-side. Plus they do not tend to have aggressive salesmen lurking around try to "help". I was able to spend a couple hours (over a several visits), playing with all three

LC-37D62U 37" 16:9 AQUOS HD 1080p LCD Television
I ordered a LC37D62U 37" AQUOS HD LCD TV from Butterflyphoto through their Amazon link Nov 1st. I wanted the largest set I could fit in my existing cabinet and it looked the perfect size. The first arrived dead. It wouldn't even power-up. Butterflyphoto gave me a really hard time before agreeing to exchange it. They said don't accept a damaged box when a replacement is delivered. The 2nd came with a hole punched down to the screen. I refused it. The 3rd one FedEx didn't even try and deliver. The tracking number reported it too damaged to deliver. Butterflyphoto didn't double box any of them as their website advertises. They still haven't pick up the 1st one as of Nov 19th and don't return calls or e-mails. Now I'll have to deal with the hassle of disputing it through my credit-card company to try and get a refund. These TVs seem too fragile too ship. Go buy one in a store and check and get the return policy in writing.

LC-37D62U 37" 16:9 AQUOS HD 1080p LCD Television
It's the best performing 37" LCD HDTV available today. It delivers highly detailed, extremely clear images in 1080p with the deepest blacks and accurate color.
Have owned it for three months couldn't be happier.

LC-37D62U 37" 16:9 AQUOS HD 1080p LCD Television
This tv is very nice and the picture is just great!
But----- the sound cannot go high enough and have tried other same model with the sound the same. If you want to add your Sound System to the tv that would be fine.
But should not have to do that if you just want to watch a tv program.
Sorry---- its a real nice TV but that is the only thing- sound.

LC-37D62U 37" 16:9 AQUOS HD 1080p LCD Television
This TV is AN AMAZING VALUE! I seen and watched several brand of LCDs for a good while before picking this one. This TV is just gorgeous to watch. I noticed on other sets that dark area often become lost in black because of the less than black tone of the rest the screen even in some of the latest sets like the Samsung 42 series. This TV does a great job of maintaining the dark details. It's not perfect but it's better than most I've seen. The response time it really good too. It truly is noticeable clearer when tracking fast motion on the screen thanks to its 6ms response time. I feel like I got the best set for the money because it's the most balanced and pristine image out there. The image doesn't look overworked, oversaturated or just plain overdone like other sets. The picture is natural and clean.

I also use this TV as a secondary monitor to view videos from the internet on the big screen. It strides as a PC monitor as well. I plugged my computer into the TV via DVI -> HDMI at 1920x1080

LC-37D62U 37" 16:9 AQUOS HD 1080p LCD Television
I bought this TV from Amazon after looking for some time at competitive products. I wwanted something bigger than 32" but didn't have room for a 40" or 42" in my entertainment center. This TV fit the bill perfectly, and it was a one of the few models that had full 1080p resolution and a QAM/ATSC tuner.

This TV has an absolutely fantastic picture on both SD and HD channels. The larger 42D62U and 46D62U cousins got top rating from Consumer Reports, and I must say I agree. Best of all, Amazon's price saved me hundreds of dollars over local merchant's prices. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

LC-37D62U 37" 16:9 AQUOS HD 1080p LCD Television
Bought from amazon, it did not show up DOA. The color was too saturated before any calibration, everyone on screen looks like they are drunk.

After changing the settings with the Video esstenial DVD, this unit is now giving me awesome color, especially black, and contrast as good as plasma TVs. If you do any calibration, make sure you use an AV-mode that gives you "enhanced picture contrast on", i.e. standard or dynamic.

The price of this TV is falling, so make sure you check its price regularly within 30 days of your order and ask amazon for a refund if the price is lower.

LC-37D62U 37" 16:9 AQUOS HD 1080p LCD Television
This is an incredible TV for the money. You will NOT find a better quality TV for your money than Sharp. Sony may be a slightly better TV but the significant increase in price is not worth it as far as I am concerned.

The glossy and crafty finish of this TV will make any room look like a million dollars and the picture quality is worth a million dollars.

Furthermore, Sharpe has EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. My 3rd Sharp TV (Model LC37D40U) arrived with a defective printed circuit board. Sharp arranged to have the TV picked up from my house and I noticed that the repair shop scratched the frame of the TV during the repair process.

The repair shop failed to take any responsibility for the physical damage that they caused but Sharp took immediate action. Sharp sent me a brand new LC37D62U (latest model) as a replacement for the scratched TV and this TV functions flawlessly.

As a result of this fantastic service,I will only buy Sharp TV's from this point forward. This is my 3rd Sharp Aquos

LC-37D62U 37" 16:9 AQUOS HD 1080p LCD Television
This TV is fantastic!! Living in Charlotte, NC I get a good number of free HD stations over the air with a small amplified indoor antenna. The picture is incredible! This is a great TV and for the money it can't be beat. 37 inches is a little small for a living room, but my couch is in the middle of the room and no more than about 10-12 feet away from the TV and it is about the perfect size. If you are sitting any further than that, you will probably want a bigger set, like the LC42D62U or bigger. Yes, the Sony looks very slightly better, but it is much more expensive. So, save some cash, buy the Sharp and a PS3, you won't be disappointed.

LC-37D62U 37" 16:9 AQUOS HD 1080p LCD Television
I picked up this television almost two weeks ago. After tweaking the color and contrast settings, the picture quality is phenomenal. Fortunately my set does not suffer from the banding issues that its larger brethren (42"/46"/52") suffered. Overall it's a great tv. Now for a few minor negatives. There is only on RF input (coaxial cable) for the ATSC over the air antenna (OTA), QAM, and analog cable. In previous models there were separate inputs for each. Therefore, you could receive OTA programming, analog cable, as well as any unscrambled digital cable channels that your cable company provides. For most this is not a problem, but I like redundancy , and would prefer to be able to receive all three. With this set you can either have an OTA antenna or cable, not both. The other negative would be the lack of digital inputs. This model has only 2 HDMI inputs. Its predecessor, the 37D90U had a DVI input and 2 HDMI inputs. For most this is not an issue, but I have a media center PC that I hook
