My husband and I both got one of these monitors since it was such a good deal. One of them worked perfectly and is a great monitor. The other one, however, did not. The DVI port didn't work at all, and when connected via VGA our computers didn't recognize the monitor correctly. Because of that, we could not set the monitor to the native resolution.
In short, this is a great product but, being refurbished, you could get a dud. If they had both worked perfectly this monitor would have gotten 4-5 stars.

Could not be more pleased with the quality, condition and performance of the 906BW REFURBISHED, not to mention the excellent pricing. I have had other Samsung products and have always been very satisfied with the quality and performance.

Nice monitor with bright screen but has two stuck pixels in one spot that won't clear up. This monitor must have been returned for that reason, but I can live with it. It looks very good on my desk. I found that the controls were easy to learn to use. I haven't tried using the DVI connection yet. I see some pixelation with some fonts and images that my notebook computer does not have. For the price I think this monitor is a very good deal.

Originally I purchased this monitor because 1440 x 900 was the highest resolution listed in my display adapter. However, when I plugged the 906BW into my computer, a whole slew of new resolutions appeared, including the 1680 x 1050 needed for the 20" widescreen. I ended up returning this monitor for a 20" HP w2007.
There is quite the difference in screen real estate between 19" and 20" as the 20" screens have a smaller dot pitch as well as higher resolution. But if you're absolutely sure you want a 19", you can't go wrong with the 906BW. Text was sharp, colors bright and I liked the OSD set up. I also liked the wide range of display options afforded by MagicColor and MagicBright3. Some settings were very bright and almost cartoonlike, which unfortunately washed out the lighter, pastel colors. (This is not just a Samsung problem, it's also the case with my HP, and probably a lot more LCDs.) In most cases you can lower the brightness settings, change to a different view, or turn off the

So far, I have purchased five of these 19" and two of the 22" monitors for my small business.
Image and video quality is superb, but I am most impressed with text quality. I do a lot of work with small text and numbers in spreadsheets. Other flat panels I own have left me longing for the days of crisp text on a CRT. But this Samsung out performs the best CRTs I ever owned.
Know that this monitor is just that, a computer monitor. You can't connect it to a DVD player or component video source. It has just two inputs, analog VGA (15 pin) or Digital DVI-D. So it is for computers only.
If that's what you need, you simply can find a better monitor for anything close to this price.

I got this monitor to replace my old Sony Trinitron CRT monitor. I have a P4 3.0Ghz PC with 1G RAM using the onboard S3 Savage Pro video card and I am running Windows XP Home Edition and XUbuntu Linux.
This is trully an amazing product.
What comes is the package:
- Monitor
- Base (very easy to set up). The monitor is VESA compatible, so you can mount it on a wall if you want to.
- VGA D-sub 15 pin cable (NO DVI cable)
- Driver CD
- Power Cord
What I like:
- Super design: simple and doesn't take a lot of room on my desk.
- Glossy screen: as good as my Apple MacBook screen.
- Picture quality: simply on of the best I've seen. Very bright and sharp. Using magic bright and magic color technology will allow you to set up the monitor exactly like you want.
- Windows Vista certified. Works out of the box.
Things you need to know:
The CD Autorun doesn't work. Instead it launches the your browser with the documentation. You need to explore the CD, go in the Driver folder and run setup.exe
