I've been working out of a home office for almost 15 years now, and I do a LOT of phone & computer work. About 10 years ago I started looking into hands-free headsets for my phone because I found I was always using my computer (keyboard, mouse, or both) and wanted to free up my hands. Problem was ... each headset I tried had one of two problems; either it was of poor construction quality, and/or it had poor mic and earphone quality or volume. I found myself either returning them, or replacing them at least once a year. But about 4 years ago I came across some good reviews here on Amazon for the Panasonic KX-TCA92, and decided to give that a try. I have always been partial to Panasonic products (I own a plasma TV, microwave oven, and their multi-line phone system). And again with this headset product ... I was not disappointed. The headset is comfortable and easy to adjust (both size-wise and for the mic). It also comes with a volume control and mute button (both handy). But the real benefit

I love this headset. It is one of the best purchases that I could have made. With my friends living so far away from me this is perfect for talking on the phone and I can do other things while I am.

This headset provides good sound quality, both receiving and transmitting. The problem with the mute button is that it must be pressed continuously, and if your thumb fatigues, you get a crackling sound on the line. Do not purchase this unit if you need to have the microphone on mute for extended periods (such as when recording). Get a unit which has a slide switch or toggle mute button.

I can hear clearly and I can be heard clearly. Is that not enough? Very good value. Oh, and no back ground noise when I record using the headset. How awesome is that?

I've used this headset for a couple of years and it has some great features - it is comfortable to wear for extended periods, it's reversible so you can use it on either ear and the listening sound is good.
However, I have had some comments that the microphone is a little quiet - it doesn't cause major issues, but if you work in a noisy environment, that could be a significant factor.
My biggest issue with the headset is the mute button. Unlike other headsets which have an on/off switch for the mute function, this headset requires you to continue to press the mute button. So, when I am in a long teleconference and am trying to multitask, I end up having to find some way to hold the mute down so others cannot hear my typing, etc. Holding it in my teeth has proved the most effective but is clearly sub-optimal!
