I ordered this clock expecting it to use my Toshiba Gigabeat MP3 player as an alarm. While made specifically for the ipod, the product advertises that it has a MP3 line-in jack and can play other audio devices. However, buried deep in the instructions are the words "you CANNOT wake to Line in audio devices." Then what good is the line-in jack? The product description is purposely ambiguous on this matter, perhaps to nab a few extra bucks from unsuspecting customers. I will never buy from "iHome" again.

Seemed like a good idea to wake up to my iPod. The problem was that the backlighting and sidebar lights on this clock are so bright that it practically lit up the whole room, even at its lowest setting. I had to put electrical tape over the sidebar lights to make it somewhat bearable at night. However, the backlighting of the digital time display was still too bright to leave on at night, so I turned that off. Problem is, if you wake up at night and want to see what time it is you have to hit a button to backlight the digital display and when I did I was practically blinded by the brightness. I returned it within a week.

1) The iPod Mini will not connect as long as the adapter is installed. Instead, I need to remove the adapter and let it wobble there on the top. 2) There is no way to push the side buttons without first feeling for the correct button, then gripping the entire unit. Pressing the buttons without full grip only pushes the iH4 to the side.
3)Gives the impression that it includes the remote, but doesn't.
4) The display is too bright and sports high intensity LEDs to add to the illumination.
5) Sleep (the best feature of iHome units) is a small button rather than a large bar like snooze.

I love my iHome IH4, but when the connection between the iPod and the speaker dock unit started giving me problems (and eventually quit altogether) just a few months into my ownership, I was quite bummed. I contacted the iHome company via email, stating my enjoyment of their product and asked if repair was a feasible option. Their response was prompt and the issue was dealt with completely and efficiently. I am beyond impressed with their dedication to their customers and willingness to amend the problem, even outside of the unit's warranty. I can't guarantee others will share my experience, but I couldn't be happier!

i'm very happy with this product. the only thing i am disappointed in is the fact that it makes it seem like the remote is included. it is not. you must purchase it for an additional fee. not a big deal, i mean, it's right next to my bed, i don't need a remote, and probably wouldn't actually use it. but the description implies that the remote is included. still, a decent product.

I got this as a way to listen to my 2g pink nano while going to sleep. I was amazed when I plugged it in in the kitchen and my husband thought the stereo was on all the way from the living room. The sound is amazing for this tiny piece of equipment. The sleep feature is great and the dimmer for the lights is cool too. The fact that it doesn't have a remote is annoying, but the remote is 15 bucks on ihome's site. Since this is a great ipod accessory I will definetly be getting the remote to boot. I just wish it also came in pink.

I had recently purchased an iPod alarm clock from a different brand that had spa sound on it and it never worked so I decided to try this clock. It is excellent. It always wakes me for the time I set it. The speakers have a good quality for just simply playing music from your iPod on the clock. I also like that it has a dimmer switch so that it is not too bright for sleeping. I would highly recommend the purchase of this Alarm Clock.

I bought this for my wife and haven't played with it too much but will pass on her comments. The unit is small and easy to use. Overall pleased with only two comments.
The volume is incremental and only adjusts from the unit itself and ignores any changes made on the iPod. The problem with this is that if you want to fall asleep to some 'gentle and soothing' sounds/music the difference between no sound and the first step is too pronounced.
The only other item to note is that the dimmer also has steps and if you like your room very dark at night the lowest setting visible is just a bit too bright. However, you can completely turn the light off which is nice and all you have to do is hit a button to turn it on -- then step thru all the settings to turn it off...but that's not too bad.
