Works great. Cables aren't too long or too short. I also purchased the fiber link for audio so I don't use the auto cables in this setup. But works great.

This Component A/V Cable is GREAT!! If you have a TV with Y, Ps, and Pr on the back of your TV or the side. If you can't find them on your TV then you have been warned.
Anyways this cable is like taking place of your Playstation 3 so you won't be needing it anymore but keep it still just in case. For me it gave me a really good image and sound too. Feels like i'm there fighting along my men.

Pros: - Ample length for typical hookups - Gold connectors - Thick, tangle preventive, high quality wiring and housing - Works on both PS2 and PS3 Cons: - Not compatible with all PS2s especially older versions that do not support progressive scan - Not compatible with all PS2 games - Non compatible games tend to streak purple lines on my LCD TV; forcing me to switch to the normal AV cable which sucks Overall I gave it a 4 star rating due to the non-compatibility issues. A clear disclaimer should have been displayed on the packaging. I'd still recommend it as a decent alternative to HDMI for PS3.

I have to say I was little skeptical but after hook up it calmed my fears. I hope the device up to my HDTV and I was very impressed. It was as though I was playing my games for the first time. This is not even the HDMI cord. So I was very satified and i haven't had any problems.

I purchased this so that I can play games and movies in my living room. I have a 57" widescreen "oldschool" projector that doesn't have an HDMI connection. I played video games and movies on this TV with the original connection, and compared it to this component AV connection, and there is a big difference. Its not 1080p, its 1080i, but what an improvement. It's worth it, especially since I got it for $5 from Amazon.

I have a very average big screen tv and playing on PS3 on my tv the image looked stretched out but now the image is much more sharp and defined. Games like College Football, Call of Duty, and Killzone 2(only have the demo since i preordered), look better!!! Highly recomend this product instead of paying more money for HDMI cables

If u didnt know, reset ur ps3's a/v settings before trying to work these cables. almost returned them cuz i thought they were faulty. hold the power button down from the off position, wait for it to go on, then back off, then let go.

I bought a $100 dollar HDMI cable and thought why not try this out for my PS3 and it looks the same. I was mad at myself but this a a great produte for the price. At 1080p it looks great. I always thought the higher price would be better but I was wrong on this one... Great buy though..

i got this a day before my birthday for the playstation3 that i was going to get for my birtday and the picture looks great on 720p lcd tv. of course it would look better on a 1080p tv with a HDMI cable but this is worth the time and money

Great cable, ignore price on here as they will sell for $20 if you show proof that EVERY other main stream store does. I used Circuit City and got the $5 discount.
If you have HDMI capability then DEFINATLY use that but this is a superb silver medal.

I have been using my composite cables that came with my PS2 ever since I bought it. When one of the audio cables stopped working, I decided to grab these Component AV Cables instead. DEFINITELY the right decision.
THe quality when watching DVDs is outstanding, and I've noticed an overall sharpness in my games. The plugs are very sturdy, even more so than the launch cables. If you are in the market for PS2 AV cables, skip the composite ones and go with these component cables!

Go with HDMI or DVI-HDMI if you can. PS3 can not upconvert dvds through this cable, it can only upconvert through the hdmi.
I actually had a difficult time getting this cable to work with my tv. I have an older Samsung hdtv which doesn't allow 480i in at the component connectors. As such, it took a while to adjust the video settings on the PS3. The second problem was when I went to play an old dvd, it wouldn't play on the tv because of the same 480i issue. Since component cables are not allowed to carry upconverted signals, the signal from old dvds is 480i, which doesn't make much sense with getting a PS3 to act as a BluRay, and I assume your only dvd, player.
So my old hdtv has DVI in but no HDMI, so I went with a cheap DVI-HDMI cable from Amazon, and that solved my problems. The audio is routed through the RCA stereo plugs, but one could also use the optical out for audio. DVI does not carry audio signals like HDMI does.
I am no longer using this cable.

I have an old tube tv, with component input. I have conected this cables to my PS3, and you have no idea how improved the picture. Works perfectly and I STRONG recomend it.

This is great for the price. Just make sure that you change the settings on your PS3 otherwise it won't work. For a second I thought that they didn't work but this is a steal compared to the other HD chords for sale.

I finally purchased these cables after going through TWO sets of $50+ cables that I ordered online. Both sets of the more expensive cables shorted out within no time (without even moving the PS3) - and the picture would either flicker, go black and white, or totally cut out (a real nice feature when you're trying to do online gaming). Anyway, don't hesitate to purchase these versus more expensive cables - as they are still going strong at least 3-4 months later (which is 3-4 months longer than my more expensive cables lasted). Hard to believe they're this cheap from Sony - but every now and then Sony gets it right on an accessory item. Also great of course if your TV is already maxed out on HDMI ports (like our older projection style HD TV) - and still gives a great HD signal.

For those who don't know, HDMI and component cables offer much better image quality (clarity, contrast, sharpness) than standard cables (called composite) that are included with the PS3. There has been a trend to manufacture "cheaper" (less quality) component cables as of late, because most people with are opting for HDMI, those who have HD tvs (which i don't happen to have.) I tried a third party manufacturer's ps3 component cable and not only did i get some "static" in the picture quality, but the sony cable produced a much better image. This is because the Sony brand cable is a high quality product (OFC copper and gold connectors.) A component cable will make a huge difference in your movie and game play experience, and I would definitely suggest getting a good one, like this one from Sony, versus other "poorer" quality cables offered by other companies.

This is a great cable to buy to experience high definition on a budget. HDMI cables are more expensive though their advantage over component is that they are just one wire and are pretty universal with other HDMI ready devices. Component has five connectors to plug onto a television. Other than that it transmits great picture and sound.

Works as advertised - gets me up to 1080i output on my Playstation 2. Even though it says PS3 it does work on a PS2 just fine. GT4 and Tourist Trophy look awesome on my Sony 46" LCD TV.

I was pretty ignorant of the difference a component cable could make. When we bought an much bigger HDTV, the PS2 games looked really awful on it. All washed out and grainy. Of course some people in the house felt the answer was a PS3 but I couldn't bring myself to drop 600 on it at this time so...for 20 bucks I ordered this cable. I was shocked at how much clearer and crisper the picture is on the games. It's not HD but its not too shabby. For a savings of 580 I can live with it for a good long time and so can the whiny tech obsessed males of the household. It was worth the money and I recommend it.

The product summary doesn't mention it, but the box these come in DOES state that it's for use with Playstation 3 and Playstation 2.
I actually bought these for use with my Playstation 2 and was not disappointed. The difference between the output on the standard cable and this cable on a 61" HDTV is enormous! God of War looked blurry before, but now running it in progressive widescreen mode (480p) the difference is like night and day. Gran Turismo 4 outputs to 1080i and is amazing!
If you have HDTV and a Playstation 2 get this cable, don't worry that the product description doesn't mention playstation 2, the box does.
