Phoenix Wright: Justice for All Nintendo DS game CAPCOM
To be honest, after reading all of the glowing reviews I was disappointed playing Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. It's true that the characters & stories are fantastic, but I found the gameplay itself to be somewhat tedious. Overall, I found it to be entertaining, but more as a story than as a game.

What really makes this game stand out are the characters. There isn't a single character in the game that isn't cleverly designed and written. The graphic designs of the characters are well done; each shows their emotions in a unique and very, very funny way.

The cases are interesting, but the conversations became extremely repetitive. After hearing the same point repeated 6 or 10 times, I got a little bit tired of even the most scandalous murder cases. Gameplay is point and click, solid enough for the genre, but nothing special.

What really hindered gameplay was the lack of effective use of the stylus, dual screens, and microphone that differentiate the DS from the gameboy. This is a port

Reviewed for Big Boss Games by: KBN

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney for the Nintendo DS is the story of a rookie defense attorney. Fresh out of Law School, Phoenix isn't quite as confident on the bench as he needs to be. Luckily, he has his mentor and veteran lawyer Mia to assist him through his first trial. Phoenix, Mia, Maya (Mia's younger sister), and a slew of other characters will come into play throughout the 5-chapter adventure. Phoenix must not only prove himself in court, but also out in the world where he and Maya must gather evidence, talk to witnesses, and finger the real culprit.

Phoenix Wright is one of those interactive story type games that are so prevalent in Japan. When at a crime scene, you must search the area for clues. Using the stylus, you will scan suspicious areas, 'borrow' vital clues from people trying to hide them, and expand your knowledge of an area for when you're in court.

The microphone also comes into play in Phoenix Wright. When in court and Cross-Examining

Phoenix Wright: Justice for All Nintendo DS game CAPCOM
This is unique game that takes a keen eye and the ability to remember small details. Many times, whether or not you're successful will depend on how good you are at finding inconsistencies in testimony, or things that "just don't sound right".

The animation is very lo-tech, where each scene is just a stationary backdrop. If there is a character you are interacting with, they will cycle through their 5 or so generic facial states as it suits the dialog. There is a *LOT* of reading, and unfortunately, some of the characters love to talk.

The music is simple and infectious, the interface is easy to navigate either via touch stylus or buttons, and you can save your state in the game at any time, so you can take the cases at your own pace.

It's a unique game that is just a rewarding as it is frustrating. The characters are interesting, and if you own a DS, this game is worth having.

Phoenix Wright: Justice for All Nintendo DS game CAPCOM
I was a little late to the booming cult following that Phoenix Wright has acquired, having just bought the game this month. However, it did not dissapoint. I was always a fan of the point and click adventures on the PC but was dissapointed with Trace Memory, not so much that it was a bad game but it was soo short. I was hesitant to spend the money again on a game I could beat in about 10 hours time, but luckily I did. Phoenix Wright is one of those games that has enough challenge to it that you don't feel like you are breezing effortlessly through it, yet is open enough for younger players to be able to play and enjoy it as well. The length of the game is fairly long, with five cases to solve, each one becoming longer and more difficult as you play. I must say you really get into the characters in this game as each case is connected in some way to the others, and I really liked the last case that added the use of luminol and finger printing tools (makes you feel all CSI, and stuff ;) ).

Phoenix Wright: Justice for All Nintendo DS game CAPCOM
One of the best DS games I ever had. It does not take to be a lawyer to get fully satisfied with this game. Although this is a heavily text-based game (I mean really heavy!), you won't get tired of reading the storylines and following the details. I know you won't find this in any stores nowadays so try to order here at Amazon. This game's one of the best!
