Activision Guitar Hero Wireless Controller
I picked up this item in a store for $59.00. In comparison to the black Kramer controller that comes w/GHIII bundle, I don't like it quite as much. Good: I like the position of the start and select buttons - they're out of the way and don't accidentally get pressed when using the whammy bar. I also like the shape and weight of the controller. The strap is better quality and easier to put on than the Kramer's. Bad: the fret keys are very sensitive so you have to be very precise in how much pressure to apply and when to press/release the keys. Also, I noticed in co-op career play that the controller seems even less responsive at times. It seems as if the two competing wireless signals scramble the weaker one and affects the gameplay. I don't know if this is what happened, but it's my theory.

Bottom line: I learned to play on the Kramer and I can rock harder and be more heavy handed and the gameplay is more forgiving. For the $49, free shipping, and no tax, I think this controller

Activision Guitar Hero Wireless Controller
I got this guitar along with Guitar Hero I and II for my little brother for Christmas. I was really excited and he was SUPER excited... until we plug it in and it wouldn't work. Turns out the base station was broken - it wouldn't link up to the guitar. We tried everything. We turned off our cell phones, we disconnected our wireless router... We followed all of the instructions.

We returned it to get a new one and THAT ONE BROKE!! We had it for about two hours... and then the second guitar's connection wouldn't link up to the base station.

The concept is cool - wireless controller - but Activision clearly does not have the technical competency to make it work.

This is the most awful gift I've ever given. I feel bad about giving this piece of junk to my brother: He was so excited to play this game... and his heart has been broken. He's been sad and frustrated.

This was supposed to be a gift!

I was the recipient of this gift for Christmas from my older brother. He must have realized that I liked DDR so much, that it would probably have carried over to guitar hero. Well, he was right, I was ecstatic to play and experience guitar hero.

Upon first opening it, on Christmas day, we played for a good 30-45 minutes flawlessly (truly impressed with the wireless). Then later in the day I went to a friends house and brought the system and guitar hero controller, well, the base unit wouldn't even light up! No communication at all! It was like I was just watching the game at the arcade and not being able to play because I didn't have enough tokens/quarters! It was so frustrating!

Well, not to be one who is quick to decide, I simply went back to the retail store the day after Christmas and exchanged straight up for a new wireless controller, the same exact design. (Maybe the first one was just a dud, right?) Brought it home, and played flawlessly for maybe... oh say, 3 songs

Well the guitar worked really well for the most part. Same size as the SG guitar that comes with the older games. Wireless is not very laggy and it has good range. Only complaint here is that the buttons seem to stick a bit more than the other guitar and they feel like they are made cheaper, but they worked good enough to use even on expert.

So it worked great for a month, and then one day it wouldn't connect to the receiver. I tried and tried and it would not connect. Tried everything I could think of including replacing batteries, resetting it, resetting the PS2, and even turning off my WiFi router and cordless phones. Nothing could make it connect, and in the rare case it did it would not hold the connection. I did not have a receipt so could not get a replacement on warranty so I decided to open it up and tinker with it a bit and here is where I found the problem. The wireless board is separate from the rest of the internal circuit board, and instead of being held on securely with

If you plan on buying this guitar, then beware! I bought this guitar a while ago on Amazon for about 50 dollars because of the positive reviews it received. Man, do I wish I listened to the negative reviews of this product. Don't get me wrong, this wireless guitar is great when it works. It was working flawlessly for about a month. The response was just as accurate as the wired controller, and the wireless feature certainly was a plus. However, after a month of using it, I noticed something odd. The strum bar was losing its responsiveness to down strums. Then one day, it just lost the responsiveness to down strums completely. I didn't do anything to cause this...I had never dropped it or hit it in any sort of way. I now had to play all songs while strumming the strum bar upward. This was really irritating since it made playing songs like Misirlou on Guitar Hero 2 nearly impossible. Misirlou is a song that pretty much requires both down and up strums, so good luck on trying to beat this

I have owned the white, black, and red guitars; and the red corded one is definatly the most durable. All of them started out great, i esspecially like the range of the wireless guitars, but the buttons are cheaper and the clicker wore out too quickly. I had to dig out my old red guitar because this white one randomly strums now without even touching the guitar. Overall this guitar is too pricy for it to wear out within a month. I would stick with the cord.

I got this controller a few days ago and I already hate it. I thought it would be great because its wireless. That's probably the only great part about this controller. I play on expert, which requires a lot of hammer-ons and pull-offs, and with this controller, the action is MUCH slower. The buttons are a bit sticky and stay pressed down a split second after the note is released. This completely screws up my streak in the solos and basically any notes that are very close together. Also, the whammy bar is loose, causing it to face downward when I'm playing, so I hafta find the whammy bar every time a tail comes along. The strum bar also springs back too far sometimes, causing the note to be hit more times than intended. Oh, and the buttons are facing the wrong way (the round edges facing me rather than the ground). I'm most likely gonna sell this controller and get one of the wired controllers instead. They're more reliable.

I play guitar hero on expert, and i'm very picky about my guitar. This is the only one that I like. The buttons are smooth and the strum bar has just enough feedback while not being to hard to strum quickly with. Two guitars wireless at once do not interfere, they lock on to their own signal right away. I had a fear that there would be a lag in the wireless, and there has been absolutely none noticeable, even when going out of the room while playing. Oh yeah, it's wireless so on repetitive parts that you have memorized you can still play and pass a song while going elsewhere. While this isn't practical, it has worked once at a friends house grabbing sodas. I do show off while playing and the wireless prevents me from knocking my ps2 onto the floor and crying because my ps2 is broken and I can't play with my awesome guitar anymore. I have probably played with this guitar for 5 billion hours (okay, probably more like 100 some) and it still works like brand new. I am a guitar hero freak and

Activision Guitar Hero Wireless Controller
This is by far the best guitar hero controller I have used, (and trust me I've used almost every type their is). First off the feel is the same as the sg design from red octane (after all red octane makes this guitar model), so automatically it feels right. The only difference is that the fret buttons are reverse from the original design, but so are a few other guitar hero controller models such as the shredder model which isn't as good. The buttons may be backwards and at first they feel really sticky, but after a bit of play they feel better than the first guitar hero controller. I bought this controller because my brother owns the first game and the controller, sometimes a few friends and I would have a video game party which often included guitar hero in it, and my brother wouldn't always allow me to borrow his guitar so buying my own was the best decision.

Here are some great features of this guitar.

1. Feels like the original controller design only better.
2. WIRELESS!!!
3. great
