I bought it because i needed to upgrade my ps3. I had the original fat model, loved it. The only downside i have with the slim model is that it is not as shiny or glossy as the original fat model, it does not stand upright unless you purchase a vertical stand for it which is sold seperately. I did notice the disc drive is very loud compared to the fat model. Too bad they do not make fat models no more, because i would of chose that over the slim. Other than that, the slim functions the same as any ps3 would but with a lot more hdd storage. Great console for gaming and home entertainment. A must have

Our family loves the PS3. We use it ALL the time (daily for anywhere from 6-12 hours), which is probably why we had to replace it after only 2 years. We use it primarily for gaming and running Netflix or Amazon movies, but it has so many other great functions. Highly recommend the PS3.

I am on my 3rd PS3 since they came out. I keep them well ventilated, and clean inside and out. It is not acceptable that my system just broke, for the 2nd time(YLOD). I paid $600 when it was a new item, 300 the 2nd time, and 230 this time. thats over $1100. If the next xbox is made to be more reliable than the ps4, I am switching brands on the principle alone.

I had Slim PS3 120 GB since '09, but now had only 250 MB free space, couldn't even open PSN store. For $70 I upgraded Hard Disk from 120 GB 5400 rpm to 750 GB 7200 rpm in 15 min ( + 4 and 6 hours of back up and restoration process) and it's worth it. Today I have 550 GB free space on my Slim PS3 750 GB.

This console is a great alternative to xbox...It does certain things the xbox can't like play blu-ray, have free internet service and not have to pay microsoft a yearly rate and the storage capacity is great for storing music,games,movies etc. This In my Opinion is the better system. It's graphics are a tad bit better than xbox and i think it looks sleeker and more modern. I much rather enjoy looking at this on the t.v stand then my xbox. Overall if you want a great all around gaming system that can watch movies, have wireless internet access and play great games in HD then you will not regret this purchase.

Im not a gamer but i bought my ps3 for the heck of it. Well, it collects dust most of the time but when i decide to use it, it's entertaining and always a crowd favorite. The fact that it's also a bluray player makes it ideal for anyone who is not a gamer but from time to time wants to play and at the same time own a bluray player. For me it's convenient, i no longer find myself taking my living room dedicated bluray player to my bedroom.

It's a good game easy to set up,good graphics,good price,and the smart compatible is nice especially how you could turn off the system and take out the disc with the controller for both.

I have always been a fan of the Playstation from the days of the Playstation 1. The PS3 definitely is a great console that I use a variety of reasons from Netflix and Hulu, to the online gaming. The PS3 has a few unique features including the PS Network and of course, Blu-Ray. Online gaming is free as well which is also a very appealing feature for gamers who like to hop online whenever they want without having to worry about paying for an online membership.

The playstation is a great product. I bought it for my boyfriend's birthday. I ordered it online and chose store pick up, which I've done in the past with no issues. However, on this occasion when I picked up the playstation the people working there were very unprofessional. There was a woman helping me with my order and she had her friends, who also worked there just hanging out talking. There was another girl and a guy who were talking about dates and what to make a guy for dinner to get him to like her, which were inappropriate enough on there own, but then the gentleman chose to involve me and the other people in line. It slowed the processing of my order and made me uncomfortable. When my order was finally completed, I was told they didnt have any bags, which is hard for me to believe. Not only did I order the console, but I also had loose games, which at the very least could have been bagged. My experience with the product was great, but I would not recommend store pick up at this location unless you have time to waste and dont mind the unprofessional employees.

I really enjoy the graphics. I use it to watch blue ray movies and the picture is excellent. I also use it to surf the internet and it work extremely well and the stays connected to my wireless system.

Am I asking for 'too much' in a system when current 'better' technologies are available (and NOT 'brand new'), but are not being used for the PS3?? Other than that ... it's a very good system for games; plus allows streaming via Netflix and Hulu Plus!!

This is my 3rd Ps3 my first one finally quit after being used all the time for 5 years. my only complaint with these is that in each unit I've purchased they keep cutting out more hardware features with each revision the newest one only has a power light, no more back-lit buttons only 2 usb ports no card-reader slots.

I love it! You get all the nice features in one device (Blu-ray and DVD player, game system, Netflix, etc.). The connection speed is great and best of all there aren't any interruptions--compared to the Samsung Blu-ray player I purchased before. I can't explain how slow the connection speed was and how many interruptions I encountered with the Samsung Blu-ray player. I am very happy with my purchase and I believe others will agree.

Love the PS3, don't play too many games now that I'm getting older but still break out Madden and Gran Turismo every blue moon. The blu ray player is great, as is the wifi and Netflix App.
