Perfect for pool side, hut tub and boats

I will be using this for all my fishing excursions on our bass boat. Like others have mentioned before me, don't be expecting the sound blow to you away. The maximum setting is a comfortable volume that you can enjoy if you have this near you without disturbing others who are at least 30 feet away. The quality of the sound is perfect - no vibrations or scratchy noises from the speakers. The whole unit is really neat looking since it is all clear and you can see everything inside it. Please be advise that this unit is not as small you you might think from looking at the item image.

Pitiful sound volume

I bought this for the bathroom for when I shower, brush teeth with an electric toothbrush and use a waterpik, all things that produce some noise that a device needs to rise above. The eGo Waterproof Sound Case cannot do it. When you get to the level where you can start to hear it better it starts to become distorted and may even drop in sound several levels, forcing you to bring it back up. This may be a good device for floating on a quiet lake when you don't want to disturb too many people. Otherwise it's a waste and I will now have to shop for another one.

Worst purchase ever made.

When I first got this product I thought it was great until I took it to the beach. First of all it makes a good waterproof storage for the IPOD but that is about it. The speaker system is not loud enough unless you are in a sound proof room. At the beach, I had to hold it up about 4 inches from my ears to hear it. You might as well get the waterproof head phones instead of this speaker system. I am very dissatisfied and wish I had my money back.

Sounds better than expected and keeps the water out

I bought the Ego to use while sailing in a small boat and while at the pool. Recently, I started kayaking in ocean water and took the Ego with me.

The sound quality is much, much better than I expected. It produces good bass and treble for a product of this size that is water resistant.

Water resistance is also very good. I've dropped it into the ocean at least twice while kayaking. Both times, it was completely submerged and it went in face down. While kayaking, water continually dribbled over it as well. No water entered into the unit and it continued playing my music with no problems at all despite the fact that the speakers were wet.

While it works with all Ipods (except the iphone), it has a standard audio plug and thus can work with any MP3 player or radio that will fit inside the compartment.

Works just like it should

I have been using the Ego Soundcase for a couple months now, and I can safely say it definitely works like it should. I personally like the retro-feel of the clear plastic case, and i'll comment on the sound and waterproof nature of the speakers

First, the sound.

The sound is much better than what you would expect from the tiny speakers. Its decent for use outdoor use, and unless you're standing next to a waterfall you should be able to hear your music by the pool. The bass is not as loud as some competitors but you can hear it fine, the mid and treble compares with the others just fine.
overall volume is a lot louder than needed, especially if you use it in the shower or somewhere indoors or private.

Moving on to Waterproofness.
