Great Helper

With so many GPS's to choose from it was a great help to have a chat online with one of the overstock employees to help and guide my decission. My questions were answered and they guided me in getting the most bang for my buck. This is my first GPS and I'm thrilled with my purchase. Thank you. As far as the GPS goes it is simple to operate seems to be pretty accurate. What I mean is, it gets you where you are going but it may be on the wrong side of the street. Not a bad thing really your still their. I did find that I needed to update the street guide once a new road was opened. I'm sure all GPS's have to do the same.

Garmin Street Pilot 550C

We used the street pilot for a trip as soon as we got it. We had no problem finding our final destination. It took us 5 minutes to get it up and running. I like the estimated time of arrival. Great product for a good price.
I would recommend the Garmin Street Pilot for anyone that travels.

I purchased a c550 for myself about 6 months ago, and I was so pleased with it, that when my Dad said he would like a GPS Navigator for his Tractor/Trailer I bought him one for Christmas. This Navigator has it all. You won't be disapointed. I specially love the Blue Tooth feature. NO PLUG IN MY EAR....

Excellent value

I purchased the unit as a present for my daughter, the bluetooth feature and the mp3 features were excellent and the battery life of 8 hours sold me. It was pretty much out of the box ready and has reduced her stress in driving to new places to almost zero. Good value and features. I am quickly becoming a dedicated overstock.com shopper as the continued excellent service and the very good prices wear away at any hesitations I might have.

Garmin Street Pilot 550c

I took the GPS out of the box, read the directions, mounted it in the car using the suction cup provided and had it working in a total of less than ten minutes time. Took it on a trip to Texas the following day and never got lost. Learned real quick how to find restaurants and gas stations. Love it.

Good value

Nice produc t. Use somewhat compromised by newer addresses and incomplete listings of locations searched for. Example: well known theater in Hartford, CT not listed (under any name or variation). But all in all, an excellent value and very usable tool.

My GPS has taken all of the stress out of driving my car. I wish I would have bought a GPS sooner. This particular GPS is a bargain at the price. Very easy to operate.

garmin 550

My husband was convinced he would never need one, but while in Costa Rica, going through San Juan he blessed it every moment. After that we came home and bought one, this one has a smaller screen but it is much easier to hide or throw in a purse. I would definately reccommend this to anyone

Garmin C550

I just bought my second. After reading and reviewing features of other models, decided I liked the C550 well enough to replace it with the exact same model. First model was destroyed after 10 months of use due to sliding off dashboard just as I was pulling the emergency brake down. It's a fairly irreproducible result, but involved the motion of emergency brake and detachment of cable parts that wouldn't have separated badly if the unit wasn't flying. After some kitchen surgery, I determine a new cable wasn't going to solve it. I ordered the heavy duty friction mount this time to avoid the same thing happening again. It's a great unit, none of the lag in redirecting me after a wrong turn that I've seen in other models. Very intuitive except for the hidden volume control. Good price too, this is $139 cheaper than the first C550 bought from Overstock.

I just installed last week, so nfar working fine. I have used it twice. It was nice when I missed a turn, the 550 told me it was recaculatinng. I didn't get turned around. A power cord should be included for caharging in the house

Garmin StreetPilot c550 Automotive GPS System

Works great, love the Blue tooth capability. very easy to use. only complain I have is that due to sunlight and heat in the car suction cup/glue did not stick. I have to use Velcro instead, but otherwise it works great.

Garmin on a Road trip

The Garmin that I purchased is excellent for our trips. We have used it in several different manners: crosstown to find appointment addresses, on trips across the country, and on side treks to find local Starbucks on our long distance drives.
The unit is easy to use , easy to program, and has accurately guided us to all destinations programmed.
I contemplated buying a newer model vs old stock. Since this was my first experience with GPS I wanted a feature loaded unit at a cheap cost. Sort of a starter unit to try it out. Well this one works great. No regrets.

I love it!

I took a trip this past weekend and it re routed me because of traffic through the most gorgeous drive I have ever taken and I arrived hone 1 1/4 hour earlier than usual.

Exceptional

The Garmin GPS is an exceptional tool for anyone who travels alot and is sick of trying to mess with an atlas while also trying to keep their vehicle on the road. The whole system is basically plug in and play. The one thing that does need setting up, the Bluetooth system, was so simple I accomplished it without even using the directions.

Garmin 550

Used the product to check my route to cxhurch. Directions to turn right opr left on a particular street were gfiven in plenty of time to negotiate the street turns.

The only problem was at the destination when the Garmin said the destination was on the right side of the street; however the Church is located on the left. side of the street.

C550

I am a senior citizen and found this product to be easy to operate and set up for use. I would recommend this, especially if you are like me and not computer literate.

I love my Garmin

to say I am direction challenged is a kine way of saying I get lost when I turn out of my driveway. The Garmin has given me confidence to go just about anywhere. When I figure out the other uses I will be in clover. The Blue tooth connection has made everyone else safer on the road with me. It really gives you time to turn and adjusts when you don't very rapidly. I don't have to look at the map anymore and I look at the route before I begin if I feel like it. Go hone is the best command.

Perfect.. again

I use StreetPilot Garmin c550 at work...I absolutely love it. When we decided to get a navigation system for my husband, we first got him the Garmin c440 for $169.00. Compared to my c550, it was SLOW! Maps were outdated and it took the system almost five minutes to figure out directions. We sent that one back and got the c550 instead. He LOVES it! As a real estate professional I am frequently traveling to new "uncharted" roads and locations but the C550 always gives me true guidance! This is a definite 5 Star product!

Absolutely superb piece of equipment, at a great price. I had ordered 3 as Christmas gifts for 2008--and decided to break one open for a trip from NC to MD. I had never been close to a GPS in my life, and found it fascinating, and completely accurate. A must have, if you travel at all.
Also, Overstock is SO fast! Thank you.

So Far So Good

I got this Garmin (C550) to replace the C330 I had, which stopped working after 1 1/2 years. (Think I dropped it too many times and it was left in my car - which I now realize you can't leave it in hot temperatures). This one is supposed to be an upgrade and has bluetooth - but I really don't think it's THAT much better. It works fine, however, it sometimes gives wrong directions when you have to make a detour. But it's really easy to use - and I think any problems I have with it may be due to owner error. Overall, I would recommend this unit as Garmin is a fine make for GPS technology.

You won't get lost!

Great buy! This GPS system is fantastic. It is easy to use with clear audible directions that are given throughout your programmed trip. It's like having a real navigator in your car without having to hold a conversation. I really like the fact that it tells you prior to a turn (like .2 miles) that the turn is approaching. Great system!!!

Garmin

I love it !!!! However I can not get the MP3 to work on it. I will try again following the insructions to set it up. This is the only reason I didn't give it a 5 star for the features. It recalculates itself immediately if you miss a turn. Love it!!!! P.S. I love how you can change the icon of the vehichle on the screen.

Excellent product and easy to learn. Lots of features. The only problem was the cord came to me broken and I had to send the cord to garmin by Fed-Ex and that cost me $10.00. Garmin took good care of me and did it quickly.

GREAT VALUE

Love this GPS!!!! The hands free blue tooth is GREAT! Only thing I'd like to see different is the holder in the car. The windshield adapter leaves marks which is a dead givaway for thieves. I guess I'll have to get another holder....

Great product

I just recieved this last week. After shopping around, I found the best price on Overstock.com and feel like a got a steal. This product works great. I've never had a GPS before, so I was a little afraid I'd be overwhelmed by it , but not at all. I punched in the address of a new salon I was going to and it took me right there. Even though the road it originally told me to turn on was closed due to construction, I just hit 'detour' and it gave me a new route in 10 seconds. We're going to be moving to Atlanta in a couple of months and I'm not worried about getting lost at all!

Love this thing

The law just changed so that everyone had to use some sort of blue tooth device. We bought 4 of these for our family. We have several kids in college and this device killed two birds with one stone. The clarity is great and the Garmin itself works beautifully.

What a Wonderful Product

This is such a great product. We used it to go to Oregan & let me tell you what a lifesaver, My husband never got upset, cause we never got lost. I would recommend for you to try this out. IT'S A GREAT PRODUCT. It was just what we needed for our traveling marriage.

Great GPS for trucks

Bought 5 of these so far - love them! The ability to change to "Truck Routes" is great for us professional truck drivers.
Other GPS systems will take us through a side street or narrow road to save a mile or two; no such problem with the 550.

Don't leave home without it

We really love our Garmin. Not only for getting from here to there but to see when the curves are coming on the roads. Also you can search for food, hotels, drug stores and lots more. So when you are in a strange town. It doesn't feel that strange any more. Get One.

Good Unit

This is the fourth Garmin unit I have purchased beginning in 1999 with a Garmin 3. Since thin I have bought the Garmin 5, and Garmin 2820. The c550 is not a current Garmin product but that does not matter with Garmin, the best service and support in the industry.
The c550 has nowhere near the features and options of the 2820 but sometimes that is better; purchased for teenage daughter.
Overall a great unit that does everything anyone could need in a sat-nav system.

perfect for me

This is an awesome gadget and I am not a gadget girl at all. I found it to be so easy to use, no programing plug in and go. I recommend this to anyone who does not like to fool around with having to read and read and read in order to use an item. Was delivered quickly. I have had this for about a month and it gets more of a work out than I thought it would.

My Garmin

We just used the Garmin on a long trip. My husband was not impressed at first---- After we found the hotel with no problems he started to warm up to the idea . We used it the rest of our trip and it was such a relief not to have to look at a map!!!! Now, I can't get it out of his car, so I guess we may buy another one. I bought an updated map and had trouble downloading it from the internet. So, I asked Garmin to send me the disk.
Overall we love the Garmin and I would recommend it to anyone who travels a lot.

I love my new GPS! It works great! The screen is very easy to see and read. Directions have been perfect. I like the feature added about traffic problems.

Love our Garmin c550 GPS!

We have had ours several weeks now and we wouldn't be without it! What a deal!
It is absolutely amazing. It gets the job done! We are going to drive out West next month and we know it will be great! Would highly recommend this model; you can't beat it!

A Must for the Map Impaired!

As someone who cannot read a map, this GPS system is a Godsend! I recently traveled all over the state of Arizona for the first time and used this system. In places that I know I would be completely lost, "Garmina" kept me on the right highway, right street, right lane, etc.etc. I have gone out and purchased 2 more of these for other vehicles. It is easy to use and is worth the cost just for the peace of mind.

Garmin Street Pilot c550

I got a great deal on the GPS. We used it when we traveled to GA, loved it. Great performance. We never made a wrong turn in Columbus, Fort Benning. On the way home, it automatically re-routed us off the highway because of an accident. Very easy to use.

Love it!!

I recently purchased the Garmin c550 and I just love it! It is definitely "Plug and Play". I read the directions about setting up and I was good to go, no problems. It worked like a charm from day one. Even the Bluetooth works great. The only things that was wrong was the car charger was in pieces in the box, but Overstock said they are sending me a new charger. There is a USB charger that works fine for now. If you have all the bells and whistles going on the Garmin and the screen turned up bright the charge lasts 2 hrs not 6-8 hrs as stated in the owner's manuel.
