Iomega StorCenter px6-300d 12TB (6 x 2TB) NAS Server - 35096
I was having issues with CIFS/SMB write speed. I checked up the network connections and everything was fine. Even checked with a few forums and help sites but of no use. Then I decided to give technical support a try. I called up and the guy who responded asked me to update the firmware. He also gave me the links to facilitate easy download. Once I updated to the latest firmware I found remarkable improvement in the write speeds. The StorCenter px6-300d is a sturdy NAS that does not compromise on any issues be it remote access, storage, content sharing, security or design. The NAS was delivered with six 2TB drives, I was saved the trouble of searching for compatible drives. Overall the NAS gives no room for grievances.

The StorCenter px6-300d interested me for its endless features, robust design, cloud technology, remote access, reduplicating and the list goes on. Since the px6-300d packaged all these features I went on to purchase the NAS. So far the device has worked as expected. It is apt for my ever expanding photo collection.

Iomega StorCenter px6-300d 12TB (6 x 2TB) NAS Server - 35096
Working with number of network storage devices I felt that the StorCenter px6-300d is clearly superior to the other NASes I have worked with. The stunning looks, awesome performance, virtual silence and a beam of other features has made the px6-300d a business delight. The caddies can be removed easily incase a disk change is required but I did not encounter any disk issues so far.

The USB port supports my printers and Quick Transfer button comes handy when it comes to backup jobs. The Linux based lifeline operating system is enough to prove its superiority as most of the top NAS manufacturers have opted for Linux.

Iomega StorCenter px6-300d 12TB (6 x 2TB) NAS Server - 35096
Installation was easy and with cabling in place the StorCenter px6-300d NAS started up pretty quick. I backup online and my data is on the cloud as well, hence I do not have any fears of losing data. Downloading files is fast and configuring the device is easy as well. It is not a diskless version and the NAS was loaded with 12TB storage. The AD integration and iSCSI was not available. I called up tech support and found out that I had to enable these. Though I would have preferred the diskless option I found the 12TB was a bonus.

Iomega StorCenter px6-300d 12TB (6 x 2TB) NAS Server - 35096
This NAS has been with me for a month now and I am still exploring the possibilities with this device. It is a great NAS and it came with 12TB drives and I configured it in RAID 6. Things are smooth till now. This is not my first and hence I am able to understand the pros and cons of this machine. Setup is easy and I was able to initiate backup in a snap. I found that the read/write speed is slow and tried changing my cables to Cat5 cables. Now the transfer speed is good and performance has gone up considerably.

It comes with a bunch of features like SSD support, iSCSI block level access, UPS communication support, print server, BitTorrents and more. Everything works as it should and I am happy.

Iomega StorCenter px6-300d 12TB (6 x 2TB) NAS Server - 35096
I bought the StorCenter px6 to solve my long standing problems like data backup and data organization. The px6 took care of not just these but also did more than what I expected of a NAS server. It is expensive but compared to the features it offers it is a true money saver. No more running to recover data from crashed disks as the RAID mirroring facility allows replication of data, which means more than one copy. Having multiple copies is the safest means to save data loss. So far so good.

Iomega StorCenter px6-300d 12TB (6 x 2TB) NAS Server - 35096
I can never stop talking about the StorCenter px6-300d network storage device as it has made my life so simple. From now on I can get rid of all the cumbersome external hard drives, CD and other storage medium as my px6-300d is a one stop destination for all my storage needs. Setting up the device was a breeze and I did not encounter any issues.Configuring iSCSI levels also was simple.

Though the px6-300d is meant for advanced users I was able to complete the installation process after a few phone calls to the Iomega technical support. They were very helpful.

If you are just looking for a simple network storage device then this is not the device for you. The StorCenter px6-300d network storage device is an advanced storage device that is meant for small and medium office. The device has much more to it than I thought. It is not just a storage device, it promises a host of other features. The device guarantees security through the Iomega personal cloud system and I am able to give access permission to select users. The process is simple and does not need any expert guidance.

The maintenance of the NAS device is almost zero therefore saving money on appointing an administrator. Whether it is array maintenance or monitoring the device everything is so simple.

Iomega StorCenter px6-300d 12TB (6 x 2TB) NAS Server - 35096
The six bay StorCenter px6-300d by Iomega has been very helpful in my distributed office. The px6-300d came installed with 12TB disks in the bays that can be connected with each other using RAID arrays, I chose RAID 5. Though unusual, creating shared resources was not complicated in this NAS device. First I have to build a RAID array for my disks and then mention the disk volume of a particular capacity after this I was able to created shared folders. I have used NAS servers before but this is different. I realized that the disk volume is half the usual capacity.

The greatest advantage of the px6 which I found out is that I was able to change the capacity and the RAID types without losing any information on my disks. I am very pleased with the px6 offered by Iomega.

Iomega StorCenter px6-300d 12TB (6 x 2TB) NAS Server - 35096
The Iomega StorCenter px6-300d is a high performance desktop device that suits my small office just fine especially for sharing content. The device has some amazing security features that helps to protect my data. The device is easy to manage and does not require the help of any IT experts. Adding iSCSI drive was very easy. I just added an iSCSI drive to the iSCSI page and from there I selected the needed storage pool from the menu. After this all I had to do was to enter a name for the iSCSI drive.

For the first time I had to enter the name for iSCSI/volume name. From here I selected the create a volume option and the new volume for my iSCSI drive was created. It was as simple as that. Now I am able to share files comfortably over the network.

Iomega StorCenter px6-300d 12TB (6 x 2TB) NAS Server - 35096
The 12TB model of Iomega StorCenter px6-300d comes loaded with six 2TB Hitachi Deskstar SATA 3 hard disks. Remember that the network infrastructure has to be in place if you are expecting high performance and with px6 there is no doubt that you have invested in the best of network infrastructure. The device has been tested at various levels and has received a highly satisfactory report which is why I decided to buy this NAS server for my business needs.

The Storage Manager utility made my installation painless. It automatically found the appliance on the network and maps it with drive letters. I have created multiple storage pools and protected them with RAID volumes.
