Mario Party 8: Nintendo Wii
Pros: Umm...wide variety of characters? :|
Cons: Boring
I went to my friend's house, and we played this game.

I honestly would never buy it, it's extremely boring. All you do is jump up and hit a dice and go that many spaces forward. But you have "candy" which allows you to possibly steal stars from other people.

It's about as exciting as Monopoly. We played it once for like an hour (it takes forever for someone to win!), and I was like, "Finally, done playing this dumbass game, maybe we'll play Wii Sports or something..." until they said "Alright, let's play again!"

Altough, the second time we played, I ended up kicking everyone's ass in it! I had like 11 stars and everyone else had like 4 or 5 lol

Overall, I don't get who would pay $50 for this game.

Mario Party 8: Nintendo Wii
Mario Party 8 was the first real game that I bought for my Wii. I was hoping that because there are so many great (and classic) games relating to Mario, that this game would be another great one considering the $50 price tag. I was thrilled when I played this game for the first few times because it exceeded my expectations.

So what's to like about this game? First of all, there's a TON of things to do! The main part of the game has you playing as a Mario character (you get to choose from quite a few different characters including Boo, Wario, Waluigi, and Dry Bones). There are 6 different boards you can choose from (from Donkey Kong to a haunted house to a monopoly-type board), all with the same goal only completely different looks. Each player takes a turn moving around the board to collect coins and ultimately get a star. After all 4 players go, you play a minigame (some are 4 player, some are 2 vs. 2, and some are 1 vs. 3) and the winner gets coins. When a player gets a star, another

Mario Party 8: Nintendo Wii
This is the first Wii game we've gotten that really engaged our 4-year-old boy. Ultimately up to now he could care less about our other Wii titles such as Cars, Carnival Games, and Playground Games.

Our boy loves that he can play a lot of this out of the box. He can choose his character and move him around the board. Because the game leverages the Wii controller quite well he can get into the mini-games. The best feature is that you can practice each mini-game as much as you want, which is good because some of them take a few tries. The variety of games alone satisfies our short attention span family quite well. There is a train map that just hooked him big-time, so if you have a boy between the ages of 3-8 it will likely hook your boy too.

The professional reviewers have to be taken with a grain of salt. The comic-book-guy reviewers with lame beards and questionable hygiene are not going to like a game that a 4-year-old does. One reviewer noted that much of the game is left to

This was an amazing game. But after playing it for a while, I got bored of it. I guess the one for game cube is more funner to me. They do tons of talking and some of the game boreds are kinda confusing.

This game is designed for Kids no question about it. If you enjoy board games its for you to. It is a good way to get up to 4 people together on a fun game. If you are over the age 20, don't expect it to be the funnest game to play alone.

I have had this game for about a month now and have enjoyed playing it for long stretches at a time or for short bursts of video gaming.

The controls and games are easy to manipulate and figure out. I'm 28 and have fun with it, and I'd imagine my nieces and nephews will as well once they get their hands on it. Overall, I'm impressed with the format and the ease of play with this game.

Filled with hours of mindless fun... however, one must play a long drawn out board game style game to unlock boards to play without the need for sitting through a board game....

My 9 year old daughter and I played together for 6 hours on Labor Day. This was our first experience with a Mario game and we enjoyed it. Was entertaining and easy to learn and use. Food competition for many different levels. Battling each other in the mini games and the different boards is enjoyable as well. I would recommend it for all ages.

I purchased this game in the hopes that my 7 year old niece (who is very savvy with the WII remotes) would enjoy this game. She quickly became bored, and did not understand all the writings that were explaining the different levels. If this game were to include at a minimum a voice-over for the words, this would increase the playability of this game. Without it, one of the adults has to get up every two minutes to read what is written on her game -not pleasant when you are in the middle of something. Be aware also that this game is not for adults -or at least adults that were looking for a board game type atmosphere for their gaming experience.

This is a great game. All too often, we get games that either the kids like and we find just too stupid or games that we enjoy and the kids find mind-numbingly boring. The kids are 12 and 17 while my husband and I are 41 and 43. All four of us enjoyed this game! The board games are fun and the mini-games include a wide enough variety that there is something for everyone. Your family will enjoy endless hours of fun with this game.

I just got this game with a bunch of others for the Wii, and it was my immediate favorite.

It's a really cool game with lots of minigames and multiplayer fun. The only inconvenience I find is that if you are playing solo, the turns get very repetitive and the effects take lots of game play time, dalaying action a little bit, but overall you should get this game, especially if you play with others.

My 6-year-old daughter wanted this game and saved her allowance and birthday money to buy it. She and I have had the best time playing this. I am not an avid gamer so it is just the right speed for she and I. There are some games that are so funny that she is laughing so hard while playing. She asks me all day long if I will play MP8 with her. My 11-year-old will butt in and play with us as well.

We've only had it about a week and have opened up about 98% of the mini games but are still having a blast with it.

I've seen some complaints about the computer always rolling 10s and getting the good prizes and squares but I have not noticed this. I find the game play to be pretty competitive. We have beat the computer characters many times and there have been times where it is neck in neck and pretty exciting right to the very end.

I've even played this by myself while the kids were at school one day! Loads of fun.

This is a great game for all ages! I'm in my 20s and enjoy it and so does my son as well as my younger brothers! What more could you ask for in a game desgined for the whole family?
